Hi, and welcome to this fanfic, titled Pokemon Adventures. It is in no way related to the manga, 'Pokemon Adventures (Special)'. I have already started this fanfic yesterday on FanFiction.Net, but I decided to start it here as well.

Anyway, here's the first chapter, so please review it.

POKEMON ADVENTURES

"And on THIS side of the battlefield..." All two thousand of the audience in the Pokemon League stadium gasped in awe, as they saw that the challenger was just a 12 year old boy. A middle aged man on the other side of the field chuckled to himself, knowing that he would win this battle. "...Is Aka Mason, just twelve years old, coming all the way from Pallet Town!" Aka grinned, nervously waiting to see what his opponent's pokemon were. "Let the battle...BEGIN!"

Aka threw his pokeball onto the field first, an ugly Tauros emerging from the red ball. It scuffed its front hoof on the sandy ground, bellowing loudly. "Taur Taur! ROS!" The middle aged man threw his pokeball, an Aerodactyl flying straight out of it. It flapped its wings furiously as it was in the air, its shrieks nearly breaking the glass on the floodlights around the stadium. "TERA!"

Aka pointed straight at his Tauros, "Ok, Tauros... you ready?" It turned around to face Aka, huffing in agreement. "Right then, Tauros... Run up to Aerodactyl and use Tail Whip!" Tauros ran across the sandy field, jumping straight up to Aerodactyl five foot in the air, and then slashing its face furiously. "TaurROS!" Aerodactyl flew back into the air, obviously ready for the next attack.

The man called over his Aerodactyl, which flew over to him to hear the first command, "Aerodactyl, use Wing Attack!" Aerodactyl's wings glowed white, as it flew into Tauros, the bull pokemon falling onto the ground as it was hit by Aerodactyl. "Aero!" It flew back to the man, who petted his trusty flying type pokemon on its head, "Great job, Aerodactyl. You may be old, but you sure haven't lost your strength."

Aka ran over to his Tauros, checking to see if it was ok, "Tauros! You ok?" Tauros got up onto its legs, shaking nervously all over. Tauros nodded, showing that it was fit for another fight. "Right. Tauros, use Take Down!" An orange aura appeared round Tauros, as it charged up into Aerodactyl at a high speed, going so fast that it got off the ground, hitting Aerodactyl hard. Tauros struggled slightly after the attack, but Aerodactyl took over double the amount of damage, just about staying in the air.

"Surely you're ok for one more move, Aerodactyl? Of course you are... Use Hyper Beam!" Aerodactyl charged up an orange ball in front of its mouth, a powerful beam then coming out of it, and hitting Tauros, who-

The television screen fuzzed up, Red pressing the eject button on the remote, which ejected the video from the ancient video player. "That always happens... It always stops at this part..."

Chapter One

The Joy of Living

By The Zorua

"~RED!~" A feminine voice surrounded the entire house, Red running down the stairs to see what his annoying mother wanted. "Oh, Red~! You'll need a big breakfast today before you leave on your journey~!" Red's mum walked aside from the breakfast table, revealing plates of toast, pancakes, and much more, along with jugs of milk and orange juice. "So, how do you like it~? Feel spoilt~?"

"Well, you know, I do feel a bit spoilt..." Red grabbed a glass from the cupboard, pouring some orange juice into it. "And to be perfectly honest, I'm not hungry at all-"

"Oh, don't worry, Red~! Eat all you can~!" Red sat down at the table, grabbing a knife as he started spreading butter on a slice of toast. He ate a few more peices of toast, before his mother said, "See, Red~? Why would someone that isn't hungry eat all of that toast~?" Red's mum sat down at the table as well, eating some of the toast that Red kindly buttered for her. "You should leave in about twenty minutes, to make sure that you won't be late."

Twenty minutes later...

Red closed the door behind him, happily to finally be able to start his pokemon journey. His mother had packed his backpack the day before, putting spare clothes, food, and money in his backpack. The only reason why Red had even started a pokemon journey was because his father, Aka, was a pokemon champion when he was as young as Red; 12 years old. He knew that he wanted to be a trainer, ever since he had saw the video of his father fighting the champion.

Red walked up the path, placing his red cap on top of his head. He turned around, facing his house for the final time, and then continuing to walk down the path, insisting that he wouldn't turn back home. He walked past the park where his mum used to let him play when he was younger, then walking past the shop that his mum used to take him when he was a baby. He wiped back the tears that streamed down his face; this was the first time that he had ever been away from his mother.

But just as he walked into a forest that he had knew ever since he was 3, a pink glow appeared three foot above himself. Red faced up to look at the glow, which descended slowly, until it was at eye-level with himself. The glow then dimmed down, revealing a pinkish-white cat like pokemon with a long, thin tail. "Mew?" The pokemon landed on the grass, dancing in a circle round the surprised trainer. "Mew, Mew, Mew!"

The pokemon disappeared in another flash, just as a brown haired boy ran over to Red, smirking as he saw his rival, "Oh, look who it is. Red." He wore a black jacket, and had jeans on. He had known Red ever since they were both at kindergarten together, and since then, they had been rivals. It was just a coincidence that they were both choosing their starter pokemon on the exact same day. "I bet you're getting your pokemon today, right?"

"Of course." Red got slightly confused, "Umm, Blue, how did you guess?"

Blue chuckled to himself, "What, you think I'm stupid?" Blue walked away from Red, going further into the forest. "I've got no time for a twerp like you. I'm outta here." Blue walked much further into the forest, until Red could no longer see him at all. Red quickly followed, much to Blue's dissapointment, when he discovered that his life long rival was following him all the way to the lab. Blue sighed, and kept on walking.

Red seperated from Blue when they came to a forked path in the middle of the forest, a sign between the paths stating that 'No Matter Which You Go, You Will Stay Be Going the Right Way'. This was the perfect opportunity for Blue to get away from Red once and for all. Red finally reached the exit of the forest, the sun shining on a long path which led all the way up to a building next to another long path. Red started walking up the path, nervously awaiting if he had beaten Blue to the lab or not.

Professor Oak's Laboratory

Red knocked on the wooden door, which had a ceramic Magikarp attached to it; he wondered what pokemon it was, as he had never seen it before in his entire life. Red knocked on the door again, just when he heard a voice coming from inside the lab, "Don't worry, I'm coming!". He heard some footsteps, before he heard the turning of a key, which was followed by the door opening, a man greeting Red at the door. "Er, it was Red, wasn't it?"

The professor shook Red's hand, "Professor Samuel Oak. Nice to meet you." Professor Oak walked back into the lab, Red strangely not following him. "Well, you don't want to catch a cold, do you? Come in, come in!" Red then followed Oak, who walked through the hall, photos of many of his friends scattered across the wall. The old man stopped by the photos, gazing at his best of friends.

"W-who are they, professor?" Red kindly asked with hesitation, "Are they professors as well?"

"Now, you're a smart one, aren't you?" All the professors in the photos seemed to be relatively young, except from the professor in the third photo, who must of been at least 60. "They are all fellow professors. All five of us work to complete the respective pokedexes of the respective regions we work in. We do have to work together, you know." Red followed Professor Oak into his office, were a table with three pokeballs on top was placed in the middle of the floor. "Go on, choose!"

Red hesitated slightly, but Professor Oak somehow sensed it, assuring him that he shouldn't be nervous. Red put all three pokeballs in his hands, throwing them up in the air, each of them opening as they hit the floor. The pokemon on the left was a green pokemon with a bulb on its head; Bulbasaur. The pokemon in the middle was a red pokemon with a small fire at the end of its tail; Charmander. The final pokemon, on the left, was a blue pokemon with a shell on its back; Squirtle.

All three pokedexes on Professor Oak's desk immediatly triggered, detailing the three starter pokemon; 'Bulbasaur, the seed pokemon. Using the bulb on its back, it can gain nutrients.''Charmander, the lizard pokemon. It is said that the flame gets small when it's happy, and the flame gets big when it's enraged.''Squirtle, the tiny turtle pokemon. Soon after birth, its back starts to swell, growing into a shell so strong that prodding fingers will bounce back off it.'

Red returned the Charmander and Squirtle to their respective pokeballs, keeping Bulbasaur out. "Right. I'll choose Bulbasaur." Bulbasaur ran into Red, petting the seed pokemon on its bulb as a sign of affection. Red got up from the floor, withdrawing the pokemon into its pokeball. He walked over to Professor Oak, who gave Red a pokedex, so that he could record data on the many pokemon that existed in the pokemon world.

Red walked back through the hall and walked through the open door, his newly obtained pokemon in its pokeball, attached to his belt. He closed the door behind him, determined to train his Bulbasaur to his best ability.

Alright, I'll comment.

You've got to get rid of the middle align. It's not for prose.

As well, Mew aside, this plot is exactly the same as the games. I don't know about you, but reading or playing the same plot twice isn't always the most interesting thing ever.

I only did it like that because that plot for the first chapter could be familar. I can assure you, all the other chapters will have original plots.
