So Yellow catches a Caterpie, discovers the horrors of evolution, and saves a shipful of people. Meanwhile Lance blows up Vermillion City--but it's ok because it was empty!

Discuss.

Re: Pokemon Adventures vol 5 review thread

Do they actually say it's empty? Because I remember Lance saying, "Yeah, there may have been a couple people..." implying there probably were a few deaths.

Anyways, I loved Yellow's battle against the Rockets. Those poor grunts...

Re: Pokemon Adventures vol 5 review thread

I'd actually forgotten all about that battle on the ship, so it was nice and refreshing. Other then that though, this is probably the most uneventful volume of the Yellow Arc. Yellow's still adorable though, so it was a good read.

He puts it as a possibility, but the general implication is "everyone was at the shore for the contest so I can blow up a major population center without worrying about a body count".

Yes, exactly. I was telling the friend I bought it with that it's "pre-DBZ-style censored for our convienance", since I'm pretty sure that it was in the original that way too.

Yeah, looks like they didn't change how it was originally.

My highlights:
*Yellow's "strikes" for moving across the sea has the S.S. Anne named ess ess anny
*Slowpok`e
*Pikachu's training dummy
*Caterpie's leaf
*Swimmer dudes lines. Funny they are.
I also think at one point "whirlwind" was called "whirwind"

Overall the volume (now that I've finished the whole thing) left a good impression on me. Some weird errors again, but only a couple really jumped out at me.

I was also really impressed that they translated the whole "analysis of the fighting power" thingy on the Elite Four. It holds up very nicely compared to the Japanese version. ^^

A decent manga, but not the best of the Yellow chapter.
There were a couple errors I caught onto, which have already been mentioned.

The particular volume was probably has the least action of the Yellow series, but it does have some character development (as well as Pika learning Surf) so I can forgive it for that.

I love the Elite Four Profiles where Gengar is labeled as Dewgong. I loled.

Also, awesome to get to read this again! I remember my friend (who looked just like Yellow XD) went to insane lengths to get the original volume borrowed from a library for us to look at back in the day... good times.

Mwaahahahah Time for a review
1.the font is bigger again which means..i don't have to relook everything twice
2.Slowpoké appears more than once i wonder what this new pokémon is?
3.Nothing much else besides the fact blue still hasn't learned her stealing lesson
