Chapter 1 : A Rough Start
Alex sat up, his watch showed 5:30 am. Oh darn! It was only 5:30! He still had 2 hours till he could see Professor Spruce and leave. Alex got out of bed. Looking in his closet, he found a solid black t-shirt. He pulled it over his bare chest. Alex also found a pair of blue jeans to wear and put them on. Then he went to the bathroom and combed his dark black hair. Alex walked back to his room and sat in front of the T.V. He might as well watch some since he still had an hour to go. The News came on, there was some story about teams in Hoenn who awakened legendary Pokemon and caused an environmental disaster. Oh he didn’t care much about the news and Hoenn was miles away from here. He flipped the channel. On came his favorite show Crossed Lovers. Alex just loved the King Bonsly and Queen Mime Jr. They were so cute! It was the episode where Mime Jr.’s evil twin Lil’ Mime tried to steal Bonsly from her. He Loved it! Alex watched that until his watch showed 7:00. He’d better get going. He grabbed his bag and put it around his shoulders. Alex went downstairs and saw his mom sitting at the table.
“Morning Alex. Here’s some breakfast” She put a plate of eggs in front of him and he sat down.
“Thank you Mom” Tears poured down her face. “Mom don’t cry.”
“Sorry Alex, it’s just that I can’t lose you. Ever since Julia died, I’m just so worried about losing you. I love you so much Alex…..”
“I love you too Mom. Don‘t worry” He got up and went around the table to hug her. “I’ll be ok” He put his plate in the sink and grabbed his bag from the chair
“Thank you Alex.” She got up. “Go to Spruce and then come back and say goodbye before you go. Ok?”
“Ok Mom, bye! I love you.” She watched him go out the door.
“Oh Alex, I hope you’ll be safe. He’s only 13.”

The dew was very squishy under his feet. The little Cadys buzzed around him as he walked down the path. The blue and orange colored houses passed him on the way. He loved Eclipse Town. The mist from the ocean felt good on his face. Eventually the path winded to the Spruce Lab. He tugged on the door knob, but it was locked. So Alex went around to the back garden. Professor Spruce was feeding a small baby Shellstool.
“Why, hello Alex. Ready to get your first Pokemon?”
“Yes Professor.” Spruce gestured him to follow. Spruce lead him into the lab. His lab assistant gave him two pokeballs.
“Now Alex, you have three choices.” He grabbed a pokeball and sent a duck looking Pokemon out. “This is Ugcluck. It’s a water type.” He took the other Pokeball and sent out a firefly looking Pokemon. “This is a Cindersect. it’s a fire type.” He picked up the Shellstool. “This is your last choice. Shellstool is a grass type.” Alex looked at each of the three. The Ugcluck was sitting there smiling, Shellstool was hiding in it’s shell, and the cute little Cindersect was buzzing and jumping up and down.
“I take the Cindersect. It’s so cute.” The little thing jumped into his arms.
“Ok Alex. Good choice.” The professor handed him his pokeball. Remember to always love and take care of Cindersect.”
“Thanks Professor!” The door swung open behind him.
“Hi Professor!” Alex turned around and saw his cousin Eloise behind him. “I’m here to get my Pokemon. Im so excited!”
“Eloise, I’m guessing you’re here to get your Pokemon.” She nodded. “Ok which one.” He pointed to Ugcluck and then to Shellstool.
“Umm, umm, I pick Ugcluck! It’s so cute!” She picked up Ugcluck. “Hi you little thing. I’m gonna take good care of you.” She hugged Ugcluck.
“Here’s Ugcluck’s pokeball.” He handed it to her.
“Clucky Return!” Ugcluck disappeared into the pokeball. “Like the name? Ooh! Alex you got a Cindersect! It’s so cute. I just wanna…”
“Ok kids, I need to ask a favor of you.” Spruce sat on a stool.”
“What professor?” Alex asked.
“I need you to get a package from my friend George. He lives in Crescent Cape, just beyond Tail Hill.”
“Ooh I’ve been to the cape. It’s gorgeous…” Spruce cut Eloise off. “Anyway, will the two of you go and get it for me?”
“I’m up to it! What about you Alex?”
“I guess so.”
“Very good! Thank you children!” He stood up. “Crescent Cape is only a couple of hour away. So I’ll be seeing you later to day.”
“Ok Professor! Alex let’s go!” She tugged on his shirt.
“Ok! Ok! I coming! Cindersect return!”
“Cindersect!” and it disappeared into his pokeball.
“Bye Professor!” They both said as they left the lab. They stepped out the door and back onto the road. They started walking. “So, Alex are you pumped to finally be leaving? Are you? Are you? Are y…”
“Yes Eloise! I am!” He sort of yelled.
“Sorry. I can get a little excited.” They were just about to leave when… “Alex!” He turned around to see his mom chasing them. “You forgot your coat.”
“Oops! Don’t want to forget that.” He grabbed the coat and put it on.
“Hi Aunt Gladys!”
“Oh hi Eloise.” She waved at her. “Bye Alex! I love you.” She hugged him.
“Bye Mom. Love you too!” He said as they left the town.

“Alex! Can we stop walking? My feet are killing me.”
“We’ve only been walking for an hour.”
“Please Alex! We can eat lunch.”
“Fine Eloise, we can stop when we get to Tail Hill. It’s only 20 minutes away. Ok?”
“Thank you Alex.” She smiled at him. It wasn’t long till they reached the gates of the hill.
“Oh look at all of the little Eevees. They’re so cute! Hmm, where can we sit down here. Any idea’s Alex?”
“Let’s stop over there.” He pointed to a stretch of land near the woods.
“That’s a great spot!” They sat down and started to take things out of their bags. Alex pulled out some rice balls. Eloise pulled out apples. “Ooh Alex! Did you bring any poke food?”
“Umm, no I didn’t.” He scratched his head.
“Alex, your lucky I brought some extra.” She pulled out some food. “Good thing I’m here, or poor Cindersect would of starved. Go Clucky!” She sent it out of it’s poke ball. “Go Cindersect!” Alex sent the little creature out of it’s pokeball.
“Cindersect!” It started to chow down on the nibble.
“Ha, ha Cindersect loves it. Thanks Eloise! “Eloise started laughing
“Your welcome. Clucky loves it to.”
“Stop it!” A voice said in the distance.
“What was that Alex?”
“I don’t know. Let’s go find out” They grabbed their things and got up.
“Where’d it come from?”
“I don’t know. Come on Cindersect.” It crawled on to his shoulder.
“It came from there!” She pointed to the left. “Return Ugcluck!” It went into the pokeball. They ran towards the noise. Then a car shot passed them and they jumped out of the way. “Give the Eevees back!” A girl dressed in red ran by. “Oh my goodness. Are you two ok.” She helped them up. “Were fine. What was that?” Eloise yelled.
“Poachers, they were taking the Eevees. Since there native to this hill. I’m Julie, I’m a Pokemon Ranger. My job is to protect the hill from poachers, and you are.”
“I’m Eloise and this is Alex. Where on our way to the cape.”
“Hey, can you help me save them. It would really help me.”
“Ok we’ll help. Ready Cindersect.” It nodded. “Eloise get Ugcluck out.” She sent it out of it’s ball.
“Thanks you two. Now I need a Pokemon.” She saw a Zizzagoon pass by. “Capture on.” She pulled out a style, and ran circles around the creature. “ Capture complete. Ready fellow?” The Zizzagoon nodded. They started to run in the direction of the poachers.

“Stop it!” Julie screamed
“What was that Mike”
“It’s that ranger again.” He pulled the net up and dropped three Eevees into the back of the pick up truck. “ And she’s got friends chasing us too.”
“We need to slow them down. Go Poocheyana!” He sent it out of it’s pokeball. “Poocheyana slow them down. At all costs.” It’s ran back towards them. They kept driving.
“Julie, they sent a Poocheyana after us.” Eloise panicked.
“Send out your pokemon! Zizzagoon use tackle!” It shot at the Pokemon and shot it backwards. It growled at Zizzagoon. “Cindersect use ember.” It shot flames from it’s mouth at it! “Now Clucky, use bubble.” Ugcluck shot bubbles at it. Poocheyana fell back and was defeated.
“Rick. They finished off Poocheyana” Mike turned around.
“Well, I guess we just have to stop them ourselves.” Rick stopped the car and they got out. “Go, Burnman!” A pokemon made of flames came out of the Pokeball.
“Go, Dodrio!” Mike sent it out of it’s Pokeball.
“Now you two get them!” They started towards them.
“Julie they stopped the car, and now they’ve got pokemon after us.” Panicked Alex.
“Oh no. umm, Alex have Cindersect use stringshot at Dodrio. Eloise have Clucky use bubble at Burnman.” They both nodded.
“Burnman use flamethrower!”
“Ugcluck use bubble!” The two moves collided, creating smoke.
“Where’s Burnman?”
“Now Cindersect use stringshot at Dodrio.” The smoke cleared and Dodrio was stuck to the webby substance. “Now Zizzagoon use headbutt at Dodrio” It hit Dodrio right in the stomach. It fell over and fainted. “No, Dodrio return. It’s up to you Rick.”
“And I won’t lose. Now Burnman use fire punch at the Ugcluck.”
“Clucky dodge it and use bubble” Ugcluck dodged Burnman’s fist and used bubble at it’s back. Burnman fell over and fainted. “Return Burnman. Mike let’s go!” They started to run towards their truck. “Oh no you don’t! Cindersect use string shot.” The web shot at them and they got covered in it. They couldn’t move.
“Your under arrest for Pokemon Poaching.” Julie said.
“Look what you did Mike.”
“Hey, this isn’t my fault! You had to drag me into this.”
“I did you little…”
“Hey shut up you two.”
“Hey Julie, let’s free the Eevees.” Eloise called. They let all the Eevees out of the truck. “Eevee!” They all said.
“I think they’re thanking use”
“I think your right Alex.”

“Oh thank you. Good luck getting to Crescent Cape. It’s just beyond the hill and good luck on your journey”
“Bye” They waved at her. She got into their truck and drove away. They walked up the hill. “Wow look at that Alex!” They reached the top. He saw the town on the cape with the water glistening under it.
“That looks awesome! Race you down the hill” He started running down it.
“Hey, give me a head start. I’m slower than you. She started down it too. Alex tripped half way down it. Eloise caught up to him.
“Nice Alex.”
