Pokemon like any anime has had characters whose lives almost ended and managed to survive. The Pokemon anime and movies have all had instances where a human or pokemon almost died and survived either by someone else saving his or her life or getting out of the situation before things got ugly. Near deaths in the anime range from a character's rash and impulsive behavior(Ash) to a legendary or normal pokemon being nearly killed by a human's evil ambition(Arceus, Giratina)/ So lets name those close calls from the anime and movies and talk about the rather sticky situations the characters got out of alive. Also reply to each other to what you think. Also, lets post the near death scenario in the character's point of view from the point of near death to being saved.

Lets begin.

That one where Bulbasaur gets crushed by a rock or something and then a sad montage of all Bulbasaur's finest moments and that. And it turns out he's fine? What other possible conclusion could one come to, other than it's dead? It's the same as the police knocking on the door and telling a woman that her husband has died, only to say 2 minutes later "nah, just kidding lol".

Not really. The police doing something like that would be just cruel and sick. The Bulbasaur scenario wasn't.

As for my answer, how about Pikachu when Ash was arriving in Hoenn? The poor thing was virtually about to literally explode until, surprise surprise, Team Rocket unknowingly saves him.

Yes it was so. They are basically telling HUNDREDS of young kids that a promosing young pokemon's life has tragically been cut short. This is pokemon, this is not PUNK'D starring Ashton Kutcher.

No, it wasn't. Bulbasaur seemingly died, yes, but it wasn't like a police man going and telling a woman on purpose that her husband is dead, only to say he's kidding a minute later. That's playing a cruel joke on someone. Writers of a tv show don't do that to their viewers, especially if they're children. The scene was meant to make the characters think Bulbasaur was gone, not the viewers. It's a KID'S show, they wouldn't really make a person or Pokemon die, so it should have been obvious that Bulbasaur wasn't dead, except maybe to little kids who wouldn't understand as well as older kids.

I started a thread like this months ago. Really, I did.

Anyways, that time in the eighth movie when Ash was about to die for the World.

Didn't Ash really die after that chandelier crushed him in "The Tower of Terror"? And when he got petrified in the Mew vs. Mewtwo battle? How many lives has that boy used up?

Ash Ketchum literally die 3x times, and got resurrected. He can survive no 10-year can.

He earned this title: Man of Steel.

That was Bulbasaur's life flashing before his eyes, how did you not get that?
