Pokemon Anime Problem in Britain

Rainfall/Flooding, Knife Crime going up and terrorist attacks are all reasons why Britain is no longer that great, but this is surely the final straw. From September 3rd, British CN Too will be showing the Master Quest Series (Johto), now I am a big fan of Misty and the older episodes, and haven't seen them in a VERY long time, but, really we should now have started to be seeing the D/P Series. European rating shouldn't take this long and it isn't as if it has to be translated for Britain, so why make us wait, It's probably because of Polish/Spanish/Italian translations, but that is very unfair for Britons. And Why Master Quest?

£10 says that when our Cartoon Network finally does air D/P, we race through it, get further than the Americans, finish the entire season in a few weeks and then have to wait ages for more.

Agreed, even though loads of people watch it, it doesn't get them same care and attention as other shows, how long do they bang on about Ed Edd n' Eddy when it gets a new series. and yes there are tons of pokemon ads but it's always reruns *sigh*

I'm having to rely on TVLinks.co.uk for my dose of D/P, and though it's annoying we don't get regular showings of it on TV, the Johto series is a refreshing change.

I don't get what Polish translating has to do with that, since we have only finished PA last year, and PAC is still unconfirmed... Also, here Pokemon airs only on Jetix now (never aired on CN which is a shame because CN has kinda good quality, while Jetix is crappy), and they never got past season 3.

So, IMO it's not so big problem, and you can always downlaod the eps already dubbed in your language, while i can't. Heh.

On the other hand, German Jetix is stuck on MQ too... i wonder why.

Toonami/CNToo wont change anytime soon. I swear they refuse to put no titles/synopsis on the guides, and start doing the repeats at random times just to get more viewers to watch these repeats. Surely we should have D/P now, now that the games are out. We usually get new episodes during the holidays, so that pattern is broken. THOUGH they do prefer using half term holidays to show them, there's one in October isn't there

yea you can blame them for alot but its not exactally they're fault we dont get up to date pokemon episodes
its probally just because the uk's a hell of alot smaller than america and wouldnt bring in that much money to the TV channels

True, but that shouldnt matter because a new series would make them more money than they currently are, therefore it would make sense to show DP

I didn't say it was their fault lmao. I just felt like adding what I think is wrong with the Uk. If you lived in my village/town you'd grow to hate chavs as well. Well I think a sick (censored) who shoots 11 year olds should be blamed for everything really, who cares anyway? :/

And it doesn't matter how small the country is. Cartoon Network Too or whatever its' called now show Pokemon to death. They wouldn't do that if it wasn't raking in the viewers. There's a demand for it, that's why they've bought the rights to Master Quest, Johto, Orange.. etc.. Advanced/Challenge will be there by next year surely. Pokemon is still popular enough here in the UK, the games are doing well so it would be a mistake to not show the Diamond and Pearl series.

DVDs in general in this country are terrible; we never got Mewtwo Returns on dvd, the only TV series we ever got were Chronicles, the VHSs stopped only a part way through the first season, I'd love to have Pokemon on dvd but the only way is to import. Jirachi's dvd was a joke (I still haven't bought it, 12.99 for the movie I like the least with no features and a very very awful cover, no thanks). I don't remember Heroes having tonnes of features, I got the US version and it seemed to have less features on the UK one, or no difference at all. Not sure.

I think we'll see the new series in October mainly cos of the half term pattern, they like to start showing new episodes during half term. We'll find out soon enough, the site I go to, to see monthly schedules should have Octobers sometime early/mid September:

Yes and when did Cartoon Network get those two movies? It seems very strange, why are they not on dvd as well. Meh, I have the US ones but that's not the point. It would be great to catch up with the US, I don't like having to import US dvds to get the latest movie.

Wait a mo, did they miss one?
It seems that the 8th Pokemon movie, Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, is getting a DVD release in the UK! That's according to a poster, which is free with the Speical D/P Edition of Offical Nintendo Magazine.

But hang on, what about the 7th you ask?. Well, seems it could be some troubles between Pokemon USA and Miramax, who used to distribute the films, after PUSA decided to pull out from their deal with Miramax and let Viz Media, who normally distribute the episodes on DVD in America, distribute the movies as well, so we might not see movie 7 sadly.

Unfortunitly, there's no release date for the 8th, but at least we know it's coming huh?
