Hey all, this is my first time on the Bulbagarden

I was just wondering if anyone had any links to the Pokemon anime series starting from the Indigo League and then season 2, 3, 4?

I've been on TV Links but they only have the first 30 episodes of the Indigo League, and I want to watch them all over again :D

If anyone could help that would be great and much appreciated, thanks.

Your best bets are probably YouTube or Dailymotion. I'm not sure if Pocket Monsters has the old episodes or not.

If you just google like "Pokemon Season 1 torrent" you're bound to find them. Youtube doesn't really have any pokemon any more since Google bought it.

We have them all right. That would also be your best bet, as there's been a massive removal of Pokemon anime from Youtube as of late.

People want to see Seasons 3 and 4 again? You might as well just pick and select the few good ones from the otherwise horrible pile.

I loved Joht, just as much as Kanto and Orange. AG? Meh, it wasn't as good. DP is looking pretty good, though.

Seasons 3 and 4 (the first two Johto seasons) were poor. Johto didn't get good until Master Quest, and even then there were still plenty of bad episodes. (Enlighten Up, anyone?)

AG as a whole represents the best quality of writing, character development, and soundtrack the anime has to offer, and that quality continues into the D/P series.

The reason D/P is so good is because it's reusing the AG formula and continuing what worked with it and dropping what didn't work from it. Shinou will be three years long, it'll get tons of filler itself eventually. After all, we do have 100+ new Pokemon that need debuts.

Would that be because May replaced Misty?

Would that be because May replaced Misty?

That's obviously one reason, since Misty's character had hit rock bottom in the Johto saga, while May was a protagonist that was developed from the ground up as much as Ash was and had a wonderful story arc. What do you think the whole point of introducing May and the Contest arc was for? Making Ash actually share the spotlight with a female protagonist for once was the biggest shift of the series. (This of course, continues with Hikari in D/P)

Why did I sense contempt from that question? Do you honestly believe AG would have been as well-liked if it had Misty and her boring Togepi instead of May and the Contest arc?

The rest of it was simply better written. They didn't give Ash all the starters this time, they actually had Ash's Pokemon evolve for once, they showed Ash actually training the majority of his Pokemon. The majority of filler was actually entertaining, and the gap between Gyms didn't match as much because they were filled with Contest episodes, or training/evolution episodes.

The majority of the Gyms/Contests were handled well, and Hoenn's only real screw-up was how disappointing the final Magma/Aqua climax turned to be. If the writers didn't botch up the ending of that arc, Hoenn could have been close to perfect.

Hoenn was called the anti-Johto when it first came out, and people used to say how wonderful it was that the writers were actually putting effort into the show again rather than letting it slide downhill like they did the previous three years. They obviously knew the nonsense they wrote during the three-year Johto saga wouldn't fly a second time, so they revamped the show and made all the smart moves.

D/P reuses the AG formula, which is why it's excellent as well. Hell, if D/P manages to give us a great Team Galaxy arc while continuing the rest of AG's improvements, D/P may turn out to be the best saga of them all.

I liked it better when Ash wasn't as serious, when he coincidentally got all the starters, when his Pokés stayed small.

Although I will admit AG has grown on me, and I've finally realized its greatness; I like it, just in a different way than I liked the original, just not as much as the original, although it gets pretty close.

Eh, that's why I thought they handled Ash better. Ash in Johto was the same idiot he was in Kanto, he just battled a little better.

In AG they actually had Ash shift into a strong trainer for once, he acted as a mentor figure to both May and Max, and by the end of AG he had an entire fully evolved team aside from Pikachu and Corphish.

I liked "idiot" Ash too, he was amusing, but after 5 years of that it was time for a change. I much prefer how Ash is now in AG and D/P.

I just find it weird that he went through a quick change. It should've happened more gradually. I hated Max at first, but he started to grow on me, and when I saw the one when Ash met Max, he became one of my favourite characters. I'm gonna miss him, really. I wish he would've come back instead of that useless background prop they call Brock.

Ash's Pokemon didn't start evolving till mid-Hoenn anyway, so it's not like he changed THAT fast.

There was a shift in his dynamic with the group because Hoenn was the first time he was actually traveling with people younger than him. Before AG, everyone Ash traveled with was older than him. What AG did was finally push Ash out of the newbie role and into the more experienced trainer role while May took over the newbie role and Max was there to learn from both of them.

In D/P, it is the same thing. Hikari is another newbie Pokemon trainer while Ash is in a more experienced trainer role.

You got the correct URL, but the site is down for the moment, so you'll have to wait. You won't actually find the episodes on the site, though, you'll need to get on IRC for those. If you already know how to download from IRC, drop by [HASHTAG]#pocketmonster[/HASHTAG]@irc.pocketmonsters.net, if not, you should wait until the site is back up, and read the tutorial there.
