I see there is not a single thread in this entire forum to discuss this game (If this can be called as a "game" by literal meaning), so I wanted to make this thread to see others' opinion and any other discussion related to this game. Though, I don't expect a lot of people actually go buy and "play" it. (Not even me)

Pokemon Art Academy is an art training game developed by Headstrong Games, released on 19th June 2014 in Japan, 4th July 2014 in Europe, 5th July in Australia, and 24th October 2014 in North America. It is now more than half a year since its first release.

Here the following is my opinion.

I don't understand what is the existence reason of this game, I think this game is just a waste of money and a waste of time, both to the player and the developer.
I'm not professional artist, I often draw sketches just as a form of hobby. But because I'm a hobbyist, that's why I understand the general minds of the ones who truly like to draw.
If I wanted to draw Pokemon sketches, I'll rather go draw it on paper, or on the computer using painting softwares. Besides, the reference sketches it provides are all Pokemon Center style, which are even more deformed and cuter than Sugimori style, which is the style I don't like. I don't need others to tell me how to "correctly" draw Pokemon, I like the cool artworks on Pixiv and Deviantart made by many other artists, and personally I like to draw Pokemon in my own style, the anime-realistic style I developed myself.
