A while ago, we learned that when the Battle Spot's "Special" rules change on 6th September, the format will change to the Double Battle format where players will be able to use all non-big legendary Pokémon from the National Pokédex, except for the most commonly species that were used in seasons 1-4 and the first half of the current one. The Pokémon Company International has finally revealed which Pokémon will be banned from the Special Battle during that Battle Spot season:

- Aegislash
- Amoonguss
- Charizard
- Cresselia
- Garchomp
- Gengar
- Greninja
- Gyarados
- Kangaskhan
- Landorus
- Mawile
- Meowstic
- Rotom
- Salamence
- Sylveon
- Talonflame
- Thundurus
- Togekiss
- Tyranitar

So, the question is: what Pokémon will be used? What won't be used?

Half of my team was hit by that list. Looking at it though, rain is most likely going to dominate - Politoed, Kingdra and Ludicolo are still allowed.

Yeah, Trick Room didn't take much of a hit either, so I can see it becoming more popular, especially with Rain dominating.

No Azumarill? Im going to sweep the floor out of everybody with my team.

This is like the UU of Battle Spot. I'm betting Mega Lucario will be the most popular Mega, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot Pachirisu popping up.

So they've basically just banned all the top used Pokemon that are on their website.
And man this does get rid of a lot of Pokemon I use, but I mostly do Rotation and Triple battle rating battles anyway.

But not much of a problem, just means lots of Mega Lucarios, Mega Blaziken and probably Dragonites. And Azumarills as the main fairy type.
Maybe we'll see some Suicune? And since there's no Amoonguss I guess... *shudders* Breloom will take its place. Well I better get myself some safety googles!

CBnite and Azumarril are going to dominate. I predict this meta being very offense based.
