Hi Bulbagardens! I'm G2, and I've always been a huge fan of the Pokemon games. But lately, something strange is happening to the Pokemon from the later generations. And since you read the title of this thread, I'm talking about, you guessed it, Nintendo including belly buttons into their Pokemon games. I know, it's bizarre, from the prop in the Musical, to Oshawott's description in the 2nd gym, even the legendary kami triplet's obvious appearance. All I want to know is, why is Nintendo doing this, and do you think this is a change for the better?
 
I know it seems drastic, but if there doing this in Generation V, then what are they going to do in Generation VI? I don't want them ruining the Pokemon franchise because they're trying to make Pokemon more realistic.
 
I agree with FangJoker, you're reading waaay too much into this theory.

Even if they had some significance, I'd expect it to be biological because, you know, mammals have umbilical cords and hence belly buttons.

Yeah, adding bellybuttons on a handful of pokemon will surely result in the annihilation of the Game Freak empire.......
 
The first thing I thought when I saw this thread "But pokemon hatch from eggs, they're not supposed to have belly buttons"

Pokemon makes even less sense to me now.
 
Hm for a moment I thought you were going to complain about the amount of female characters in the show that have theirs showing. With Pokemon I honestly haven't noticed any belly buttons at all even on Oshawott (The only thing I see is a shell). Are we talking Anime wise or game wise though?
