Chapter One
Two parents lay stranded upon the Whirl Islands, newborn child in their arms. They had been stranded when the S.S. Azure had crashed into one of the many whirlpools that surrounded the island. These two had been the only survivors, but their child was dieing in the cold winter air. The parents looked down at their child, and she was no longer breathing.
All of a sudden, a great shape flew out of the water. It was Lugia, protector of the Johto oceans. It sang a mourning note, and grabbed the baby by her blanket and threw her into a strange liquid aura that had formed.
The child's grandmother, who lived far away in the Bonzai region, opened her bedroom door to find the baby sleeping peacefully in a soft blanket made from a fur she had never seen before. She then knew that she would have to care for this child, now an orphan...

"AMYTHEST!!!! WAKE UP!!" called Gran from downstairs. "If you don't hurry up you're going to be late! Don't you want your starter pokemon?!?"
"I'm coming! " yelled Amy. She got out of bed and looked in the mirror, seeing an 11 year old girl with long orange hair and strangely glowing purple eyes. She looked in her closet for some first day as a trainer clothes. Her grandmother had picked out a pink dress with mini Roselia on it, but that was too babyish for this important day.
"No, i think I'll wear this," she muttered as she pulled out an orange shirt, denim jacket, and jeans. She trotted downstairs and was out the door before Gran could say, "Good Luck!!" Down the street she went until she saw the familiar Lab of Professor Maple.
"Good morning, " greeted Maple's Aide, " I suppose this is your first day as a trainer. We have a great selection of starters this year. Just sit down with the rest of the kids until Prof. Maple is ready for you."
"Thanks." said Amy, and sat down next to a chubby boy with black hair and a snorlax shirt.
"Yo, dude, " said the boy, "My name is Jetty, and this this is my sis, Joela." pointing to a girl with braces and green hair, "She's shy, but said she wanna be yo rival, dude."
"Err...that's fine." Amy was a bit nervous around these two, so was greatly relieved when Prof. Maple called her inside to pick her first pokemon.
"Wonderful to see you again, Amy, " said the blue haired professor, "Okay, it's time to make a decision of a lifetime. Over here, " showing her a pokeball on the left, "is the energetic Pichu." He pointed to another ball, "In this one is a shy Magby, and over here," Pointing to the one in the middle, " Is our region's mascot, Bonsly, a crybaby. Which would you like to be your friend through countless struggles and adventures?"
"I want..................Magby please!" she cried, picking up the Magby's pokeball.
"Good choice." said the professor, "You will also need this." handing a Pokedex to Amy, "Good luck on your journey throught the pokemon world!"
As Amy walked out of the Lab, a red-clad hooded figure spoke into his communicator.
"Boss? Mission complete. The girl has chosen her first pokemon. Now what?"
"Track her down wherever she goes." replied the Boss, "She may just be the person we need to revive the great Team Magma!"
