Is it worth it?

Ok, I know it's sometime off before Christmas, but that really isn't the point (I brought this up because that's when I'd like to get it.)

Anyways, is it worth buying a Nintendo Wii and BR for Christmas? The thing/s I'm looking for, that's may be possible, is this:

Getting to see my Pokemon in 3D alot (yes I know they're always in 3D.) I mean is it just battling or is there something more to BR?

Is the game better or worse than Stadium/Colleseum/XD? I loved Stadium, and if it's on the same lines of that I might consider. But, if it's worse than Colleseum/XD than I probably won't.

Also mention how Pokémon are the only games you care for, that may play a part in whether you should get a Wii or not.

I really don't think the game is worth the money. The thing is, all the game does is give you the chance to see the new pokemon in 3D. There is no adventure, like in the GC games. There aren't really any downloadable pokemon, minigames or other interesting things (Dodrio mode <3), like Stadium. There is the ability to battle online, but the DS games had that too. All in all, the series has basically been stripped of everything new we've seen up through the years, and devolved into a simple tool for seeing 3D pokemon battles. That's really not worth the price of the game alone, and most certainly not the price of the console on top of that.

Of course, that doesn't mean you shouldn't get a Wii, there are a lot of fun games for the console. Pokemon Battle Revolution just isn't one of them.

Its not the best game ever, you need a Diamond or Pearl to get some useful things, otherwise is just battles and battles and battles. You should purchase the Wii, there are really great games for it

Thanks, Shane for mentioning that.

The main reason I wanted the game was for the 3Dness. But, if you can't even do the things like in the past gens. (like Adament said) than I don't think it's worth it at all. I don't want to buy any 3D Pokemon game with less stuff than Colleseum/XD.

Also, Adamant, like Shane said, I don't really care for other games. I've tried with something else (one of the cat games for DS), but I got bored with it soon after I got it.

Yes to Wii, definitely.
On PBR, try to get a used one. It's an OK game, but it's not worth $50.

The lack of story mode is a real downer, and without it, the game does not seem worth the purchase. And as my only GC games are Colosseum and XD, and my DS games are Mystery Dungeon Blue, Ranger, Diamond, and Pearl, I was waiting for PBR to determine whether (or when) to get a Wii. As it is, sorry no.

You're basing your purchase of a Wii on Battle Revolution? That's...odd. What about Brawl or anything?

Yep, if it wasn't for the Pokemon games I wouldn't of got a gamecube, GBA, nor DS light. I don't really care for too many other games.

Thanks guys, but I don't think I'm going to get the game nor the Wii. Unless, of coarse it takes me really by surprise.

I may try to ask for a used one or something less expensive, but first I want to know somethings. Can the Pokemon actually move when damaged or damege the field? You know like in the 1st demo type thing. Also, when you move do the Pokemon move or is it just the trainer?

The battle system is identical to Diamond and Pearl's, the only difference being the usual kind of Stadium restrictments. If you want more interactive battles, you have to play Mystery Dungeon.

That's a shame since there are soooooooooooo many games that are better than Pokemon.

I've been stung too many times in the past with buying consoles and waiting a LOOONG time before a game I want comes out for it, during which time the price is down to about half what I'd paid.

And without a story mode, PBR doesn't appeal, and I haven't seen anything else for the Wii that would tempt me enough to buy one. (flips through Nintendo Power 220) Nope, nothing there. Plenty of DS stuff to interest, like the forthcoming Naruto RPG and the new Harvest Moon, but nothing for the Wii. (Plus I can import DS games from the USA; I can't do that with Wii games.)

I think that using a something like dodrio mode in a game that is somewhat based around the time would seriously mess with the in game clock.

I don't think PBR is worth it. If you could obtain an Event Legendary like in Colloseum and XD Gale of Darkness, then I might've been interested in it...The only thing that is good about it is the ability to see your Pokemon in 3D.

You may not be able to get an event legendary, but you can get a Surfing Pikachu, Magmortar, and Electivire.
