Pokémon breeding, how often do you use this feature?

The Day Care breeding system was introduced in generation II, and it was from this point onward that we could place two compatible Pokémon there for the chance of finding an egg. There are a few main reasons to use the breeding feature in Pokémon games - things like passing down IVs or a certain nature from the parent to the offspring, to completing your Pokédex, and even for shiny hunting. People of Bulba, how often do you find yourself using this feature? Do you breed Pokémon a lot, or just casually? Or do you not use it much at all throughout the game as a whole?
 
Violet was the only game where I did it often enough: tried it for shinies (though ultimately I got most of my shinies out of mass outbreaks), did it for desired stats/Natures/Abilities (not in some hardcore competitive ways, just to have ones I wanted), sometimes roleplay reasons (ie, if I envisioned my current character as hatching a specific mon, or when I hatched a Noibat when I was doing an XY anime themed run).
 
99% of the time when I breed Pokemon I only do it for Living Dex purposes, the other 1% of the time was for passing down egg moves, which I've only tried like ~5 times in total. I don't breed for IVs or Natures or Shinies.
 
All the time. I do lots of masuda hunting, and also like (or liked, I guess, now that we have champs) breeding for competitive mons.
 
Pokémon Breeding has been one of the most tedious and time consuming gameplay features in the Pokémon franchise, and I'd really like to see the system get a complete revamp. If they need to retain the general structure of it, having eggs not count to your 6 carried Pokémon would be an extremely good start. But ideally, I'd prefer it if they gave us something like a ranch to breed the Pokémon on, so we can passively breed herds of Pokémon without needing to constantly be involved in the process.
 
Pretty much never. I used to do it when I was more invested in competitive, but I dropped out of that after like a single game when I realised how outrageously annoying it was to actually get good Pokemon from breeding. I tend to hate pretty much any kind of mindless, repetitive task, so I don't shiny-hunt, ether.
This means that pretty much the only time I'll ever breed anything is if I've decided to fill out a Pokedex for some reason and there's babies who don't spawn in the wild. Otherwise there's just not really any reason to do so.
 
i used it a lot in pokemon Y since i was doing a lot masuda method shiny hunting at the time and also bred some competitive pokemon (which i never used). most recently i used the daycare in pokemon silver to get the baby pokemon for completing the pokedex. but honestly these days i do not use it very much since i dont have much patience or time for it anymore ^^;
 
In Gens 3 & 4 I used it for fun, for curiosity on how egg groups actually worked, obtaining some breeding exclusives, and to have a second starter.
In Gens 5 to 7 I used it for Dex completion as many Pokemon were breeding exclusive (I think XY had actually like 10). During that process I got, my third shiny, a Wingull in W2.
In the Switch era I almost never used it. Almost any Poke can be found in the overworld or from events, and I still don't understand exactly how SV's system work. Is the trade-off of not being locked to a single location for being stuck in picnic hell really worth it? I hope it is polished for WIWA, but even then it doesn't feel as necessary anymore, and I think that was intentional as treating virtual monsters as a breeding farm with all que squick it can cause can be seen as controversial.
 
Fairly often; around gen 3 and 4 for Natures (or retraining since EVs were a huge pain to fix), later on for trading. Also for getting more Eevee. :bulbaLove:

I did IV breeding for a bit and got a 6 IV Hidden Ability Dratini. I used them in Omega Ruby but read those batteries died and have been too afraid to check my copy.
 
A little for the heck of it. Having lots of little guys is fun. Training them from level 1 to use them... isn't. So mostly goofing around with Jolik, then filling out the Pokédex.

With Pokémon Home there's some neat stuff though. In specific, Pokémon Home checks for the source game of each Pokémon and tracks them with per game Pokédexes, so for full completion one would need to obtain one of each Pokémon in every game a given species is available in. The intended means of doing this is playing the games, but an alternate means is getting the Pokémon on one game, then using that Pokémon to get eggs of the species in the other games. Its especially useful for people who don't purchase DLC to more easily complete Home's Pokédexes. Still, it's a lot of trouble, moving Pokémon to and fro. I tried this and genuinely lost track of the Pokémon that were supposed to head back to Home and the Pokémon that were supposed to stay on my cartridges.
 
Not much tbh. Mostly for dex purposes or so I can have fun options in wonder trade.

I remember using it a lot in BW in particular to fill up my dex a bit (Not just the baby Pokémon, but also a bunch of Pokémon that could only be found in the game fully evolved). So much so the Ditto I left in the daycare got level 100 with all my walking lol.

Oh, sometimes when the games first launch and I wanna trade with friends, I'll breed my starter choice as easy trade offers
 
Sometimes, I guess? Not often, if at all. Sometimes I would to shiny hunt but gave up, but at times I'd consider doing an egg hatching run, but only in those instances would I.
 
I've used it a lot, its fun for me to mess around with it. I like egg moves and breeding for exclusive forms. I even got a shiny Scatterbug one time
 
I mostly just use it to complete the Pokedex in various games or for a living Dex, because I don't do competitive battling either. Shiny hunting this way seems too time consuming for me.
 
Honestly, not a lot. I only use it for dex completion mostly to get the baby mons, but they have become more available in the wild nowadays as well, making breeding for them kinda redundant.

Take Tyrogue - Has become available in the wild since Sword and Shield and is also available in the DLC for Scarlet and Violet.
 
Mostly use it to get pre-evolutions or low level Pokémon for Pokémon Home or to occasionally shiny hunt.

Some of the newer features made it less important like with the Mirror Herb for Egg moves.
