Has anyone made one before? If so I need some help making one. I actually want to complete the Pokedex this time. I can pretty much handle finding the pokemon after I have the team.

I'd say teach a Pokemon False Swipe, combine with a sleep-inducing move and you're good to go. I personally just throw pokeballs at wild Pokemon without weakening them first because I'm lazy, unless they're at a high level.

#1 Synchronizer (Abra, Espeon etc.) to get right nature
#2 Tracer (Ralts, Porygon w/evos) to get right ability
#3 Smeragle w/Spore/Spider Web*/Baton Pass/False Swipe
#4 Smeragle w/Spore/Spider Web*/Baton Pass/False Swipe
#5 Bulky Guy that don't go down easy.
#6 Second Bulky Guy

All should preferable have False Swipe. Ofc, usually you won't need all the members, but if you, like me, catches just high level Pokemon, then you will probably need both the bulky guys if you don't want to go back to the PKMN center all the time.

*Might be switched for anything you want really, but I like Spider Web.

For Ghost you obviously need to try something else.

The only time I have a catching team is when I chain for shinies. It's not an ideal team for what you're going for, but if you're going after a lot of Pokémon at once it's pretty good. For me, anyway.

I use three that can take out a lot of Pokémon in one hit just depending on the type I'm trying to catch, one sleep inducer, one false swiper, and one EXP share holder. I also take into account PP and abilities. If I'm going after something with Static or Poison Barb, I'll use special attackers.

It usually ends up being a Raichu, and Torterra, then one of Ariados, Gyarados, Lapras, or Dialga for the first three, then Gengar for Mean Look and Hypnosis, then Scizor or Sneasel for false swipe, and whatever I'm training at the time.

Can you explain the Trace ability? I've heard the Synchronize before I didn't know about the Trace.

Simple. When the Pokemon enters the battle, Trace allows the Pokemon to take on the ability the opponent has. If the Pokemon switches out, the ability is reset. The move Role Play has a similar effect.

Pokemon that can have Trace:
-Ralts
-Kirlia
-Gardevoir
-Porygon
-Porygon2

Example: When a Ralts is brought out against a Nincada (which has the CompoundEyes ability), the Ralts will now have the CompoundEyes ability as long as it (Ralts) doesn't switch out.

I don't really have a team for catching Pokémon, but I feel I have to mention how ridiculously silly catching Mewtwo in HG/SS is.

I had Paul [the Xatu you trade for in-game], modest synchronize. I went to Mt. Silver and caught a Sneasel, taught it False Swipe and went to it. Mewtwo only has one offensive attack, and that's Psycho Cut. Does nothing to Sneasel. Win win.

I discovered that my Shedinja from the Bug Catching contest [evolved from Nincada of course] had False Swipe so I coulda used that too.

@Platinum Dude, Oh awesome.

@Nevando, I just want to organize myself in the game a littel bit more, I have a Lot of work to do on my Boxes yet.

How would Trace aid in a Pokémon catching team?
To find out if the ability of the wild Pokémon is what you were looking for?

Synchronize is a must, I put all of my breeding projects on hold until I have a Ralts of each non-neutral nature.

Heh heh, I have a box of Dittos, one for each nature, so if I'm going for a certain nature, I'll just catch the Pokemon I want and breed it for nature/ability.

Back on topic, though, I use this team for capturing purposes:

Umbreon (Mean Look, Baton Pass, Moonlight, Screech)
Scizor (False Swipe, Swords Dance, Double Team, Agility)

The only things I've had trouble with so far with this team have been Fire-using Pokemon (ex.: Ho-oh and Groudon).

I'm actually training up a Lileep, atm, to get it to a high level and I'll add it to my catching team, since it has the Suction Cups ability, which, ofc. means that it cannot be Roared out of battle. :)

So I'll track down the beast, False-Swipe it to 1HP, find it again after it flees, Mean Look it and put Cradily in with Suction Cups and just throw balls at it :)

*On a side note, I don't really play competitively, so I'm not as concerned with natures.

Pretty good strategies, there. I don't often try to catch particular natures or abilities, so I've never considered using Synchronize or Trace in that way.

I do use a Smeargle, though; it's the only Pokemon I have specifically for captures (though based on your post, I'm considering getting some Pokemon with Synchronize). It knows False Swipe, Odor Sleuth (for ghosts), Spore, and Spider Web. It was one of the first Pokemon I trained up to level 100, so it doesn't go down easily to any wild Pokemon I'd usually encounter.
