We all know that the Pokémon Centers scattered across each region serve as a free refuge to traveling trainers, serve as a hospital and place of healing for Pokémon, and provide a free food service to Pokémon and trainers.

But how does thier system of managment work, and how are the nurses paid? Bills such as water and the ever-high electricity bill for hospitals add up also.

So how is the Center managed? I think sometimes that maybe the system in run by a wealthy incorporation like Silph, allowing funds to be provided by their profit from Marts across the four regions. Possibly the difference is paid out with donations given by worthy trainers, or people like Madame Muchmoney, who may give large sums of money to a charity dedicated to the Center.

Anyone else have any ideas on this?

Since Pokémon training appears to be the driving force of the economy and culture, I'm not surprised at all if Pokémon Centers are goverment-run. It's like health care in Canada... For Pokémon at least.

I always figured it was tax-funded. Since it's a major part of the economy like PDL said, it seems likely that the government would manage many aspects of pokemon training, anyway (administering the licenses, for example).

I think everyone in a town that has a center are taxed by the local Government to fund it . The people allow them selves to be taxed because it benefits them in long run. If a town has a Pokemon center then the more likely trainers are going to come to that town. the trainers will also patron all the businesses in that fueling their economy.

I think they rely on donations, or day to day trainers.
From I know, the towns people contribuute to the Center's expenseses
Example: In Poke Spe Vol.1, the Pewter Center is ruined. Next thing you see are towns people in hard hats clearing rubble...
But over all, yeah. Poke Centers could donation funded.

IMO money come from the Pokemon League...

I mean, if there are strong trainers there is a big tournament. Big tournament means many people coming to watch and paying mad money for tickets, food, accomodations etc. But if there are no trainers, that means no tournament so, Leagues fund Centers.

Taxes. The pokémon world is not like America. The pokémon world has universal health care. That's why pokécenters are free to everyone.

America has taxes. That was a racist comment. Taxpayer dollars do go to some portions of medical.

And by the way
You do not live in the PokéWorld and do not know if it "is" like America.

Well I've never seen any trainer take out their wallet when they wanted healing, so of course it's free. And if America has taxes that go to hospitals, then tell me why I have to pay thousands of dollars to get my broken leg fixed in a hospital there huh?

I didn't tell you that taxes go to fixing your broken leg.
They CAN go to hospitals, but DO NOT pay for your needs individually. Really, you can't just believe everything bad you hear about America. It's not like people who DO have broken legs in hospitals are whining about how they have to paaaay, and it's not faaair, becuase that's just the way it is. Sure, they'll take a free surgery, but they're not going to freak out and say it's communist to have to pay for health care.

EDIT: But I do think the Centers are free. I just said that in like my first post, suggesting they're run by donations. =D
