What i mean is
For example:
Nidoran used tackle on abra!
Abra evaded the tackel with teleport and used scratch!

like that. DO you thing that is a good idea for the next games or in the next pokemon colluseam or revolutin?

Techically, it's basically what happens already when a move misses. You're just writting it in a prettier way.

Though I guess the situation you put up implies a Pokémon intrinsically having evasion (and accuracy), like in other RPGs... But we don't want to be randomly missing every move, so no.

I guess it also implies certain moves having passive and reactive effects, though. THAT is interesting, as right now the only one that exists is Snore which triggers automatically when asleep, and the rest clearly differenciates such from abilities and held items. Though given the posibilities that would unlock, I feel that balancing that would be a real pain.

That would make moves more powerful, and some combinations, like teleport+tackle, would be too powerful. However, if the accuracy of chains was divided by the number of techniques used in that chain, then perhaps it would work. So, in the case of teleport+tackle, the accuracy would be half for both teleport and tackle. So doing chain attacks has a bit of risk to it, and not guaranteed to work.

I imagine there are too many strategies that aren't immediately apparent in the anime that are simply too good. Like someone mentioned earlier, Teleport + any attacking move would be extremely overpowered. Or Protect + Sleep Powder would be a guaranteed safe sleep for Venusaur. Or Substitute + Softboiled to prevent Chansey from ever dying. Or a single turn Shell Smash + Baton Pass that leaves Gorebyss completely untouched. Or Endeavor + Shadow Sneak on Shedinja. Or Mind Reader + Sheer Cold Articuno.

That's not even touching the surface. A reaction move + retaliatory move system would absolutely not work without completely overhauling the way pokemon attacks work.
