I guess kids just like crappy dubs:

Cartoon Network charted strong prime time and total day ratings and delivery gains among all targeted kid demos last week vs. the same 2005 time period, including impressive double-digit growth among kids 6-11, according to preliminary data from Nielsen Media Research. Weeknight and weekend prime time programming proved particularly powerful as original comedy series The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy (M-Th, 8 p.m.), Ed, Edd n Eddy (M-Th, 8:30 p.m.), and Camp Lazlo (M-Th, 9 p.m.), and action-adventure acquisitions Pokémon Chronicles (Sat, 7-8 p.m.), Naruto (Sat, 8:30-9:30 p.m.) and Xiaolin Showdown (M-Th, 9:30 p.m.) each earned across-the-board increases among the network’s kids and tweens audiences.

The full press release

Networks typically don't mention shows that aren't performing well in their press releases, so the fact that it's even mentioned proves that it's getting huge ratings on the network.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of ratings Battle Frontier gets.

There was ever any doubt? It's POKEMON. Fad or no fad, it's still a shoe-in for bringing in the kids - especially when you sell it as "New, never before seen special episodes!".

I mean, they had enough confidence in it to release them as DVDs HERE. No massive surprise really.

I don't know. It'll probably get good ratings. Though, with Chronicles doing well in that time slot, will CN put BF in its place once Chronicles runs its course. Though we've also got "the second half of Chronicles" supposedly too.

But, look at One Piece, it has to be one of the worst dubs in history and it's still going strong. I guess ignorance truly is bliss.

I think it'll probably do very well on CN.. but hey, you can complain about PC all you want, but this actually puts battle frontier in a better position (plus its better than Duel Masters.. :-p )

But yeah, as I said before (to Big Al) , something is better than nothing. Which is unfortunate because unless funimation resurrects another zombie like they did with Dragon Ball and DBZ they'll never re-dub One Piece. Seriously, Shueisha's/Viz's BIGGEST mistake is giving it to 4Kids.

Billy and Mandy DESERVES every bit of ratings it gets.

But cool, seems Pokemon will do just fine here.

The kids have never even seen the original. They don't care about the differences to the Japanese version because they know nothing about it and thus are able to enjoy the episodes for what they are.

I'd say you've just proven the vast gulf between some people posting here and the vast general viewing audience really exists.

Instead of dismissing the general viewing audience as liking crappy dubs, why not try to understand them? Elitism and airs of superiority will get you nowhere.

Yeah, I watch the originals, but I still watch the dubs because they are fun to be able to understand them.

Gotta agree with gadfly. It's quite easy to forget that the majority of the Pokemon fanbase has no idea about the Japanese originals.

^^^^
You sure? Most little kids I know, are knowledgable enough to know it comes from Japan. They just aren;t aware of the changes, you guys don't give kids any credit...

It takes quite a bit to take the leap from "knowing it comes from Japan" to "knowing (I use this term loosely) the original is significantly better".

Yeah, but still it seems today people belittle the average childs knowledge, like 4kids does...

I sometimes think some kids are smarter then adults now adays.

True. But until they're voting age, they don't get to have their say. That leaves lots of time to influence their opinions and votes.

Can we get back to Pokemon, now?

And? I'm very well aware that the fans who go to forums like this one are but a miniscule percentage in the vast ocean of Pokemon fans across the world. I've only been bringing that fact up REPEATEDLY over the past few YEARS now, on this board and on others.

a) Pokemon Chronicles is a crappy dub (an opinion, yes, but it's an opinion shared by many, including fans who enjoy the dub of the regular series)
b) Kids like Pokemon Chronicles (based on the high ratings it's receiving)

Therefore,

c) Kids like crappy dubs.

It's a simple case of a=b and b=c, so a=c. I mean, good God...it'd be nice to be able to state an opinion (i.e. "the dub of Chronicles is crappy") without some dub elitists jumping down my throat telling me how elitist I supposedly am.

Lol, Dub Elitist?

I'm sorry to offend you Dogasu, I was just saying watching a crappy dub does not equal liking it.
