No, not at all ^^

Forest walked out of the motion-activated sliding doors that belonged to the Emergency Room. He walked over to his white, rusted Chevy pick-up, and opened the driver door. Forest dug for his keys in the pocket of his sky blue scrubs, pulled them out, and slipped one of the keys into the Chevy's ignition. He turned them, but the engine of the car merely shuddered. Forest groaned, and tried again: it shuddered again. It was twenty miles to the nearest gas station by road: Forest knew. This wasn't the first time his pick-up had failed him in the middle of the night. The closest way to the gas station (for walking, at least) was through a small patch of woods.

So Forest walked through them: a flashlight that he had found in the glove department of his pick-up guided him through the thick brush and the tall trees. Halfway through the forest: he heard a loud groan, followed by several loud footsteps moving closer and closer to Forest. Forest was knocked the ground; blood seeped down into the twig-covered ground from a large slash in Forests' head.

An Ursaring stood over him, roaring in furry at having its territory intruded upon. It raised its claw, ready to strike, when suddenly a small Poochyena leapt out of the brush and bit down on its claw, causing it to roar in pain. It knocked the little Pokemon off and moved in on him, when something else slammed into its back. It stood and turned to face its attacker.

The attacker was a human, but not a normal looking human. He wore a loincloth, only due to memories that he shouldn't go naked, his hair was down to his shoulders and ragged, looking like it'd never been cut before, or washed. His body was muscled and strong. He had long, sharp nails and walked on all fours, seeming physically incapible of standing upright, but overall, he looked stronger than a man. He gave a feral howl and charged the Ursaring.

Forest was even more scared of the human that attacked the Ursaring. He tried to flee from the battle, and did: getting up slowly and balancing himself on nearby trees. Blood flowed down his face from the large gash in his forehead. Forest ran a few meters away, but then tripped, knocking himself out on a tall tree.

He had only a few hours to live if he didn't receive medical attention.

OOC: Sorry for the late post, I gotta go. Bye ;)

A pair of Mightyena crawled out of the forest and licked Forest's wounds, even using herbs on them, which hurt a great deal.

The wild man picked up a tree branch and swung, smacking the Ursaring in the head and staggering it back. He tackled the back of the creature's leg as Poochyena tackled it's face, the two attacks toppling it to the ground.

OOC: Same here, thus the shortish point.

Forest lied still on the ground, still unconscious from all of his pain.

He awoke hours later: 4:01am. He rolled over and heard whining a few feet away: the two Mightyena and one Poocheyena, along with the man who had knocked the Ursaring out, were huddled around the other boy who had joined the fight first. Forest struggled to get up; all of his limbs ached, but his head was bandaged fairly properly. He finally stood up after a couple of minutes, and limped over to the small bunch of Pokémon and people with a blunt stick in hand. The boy now had a large gash on his back; but the others weren't helping him all. Or they couldn't, Forest didn't know.

He didn't know if he should take the boy back to the hospital: any one of the group could easily kill Forest if they absolutely wanted to. But then again...the boy saved Forest's life. On accident, or willingly. Either way, Forest still wasn't comfortable with the situation.

Forest then thought about himself for a moment foolishly. He didn't know if he could make it any longer without medical attention: so he chanced it. And tried to act out to the Pokémon and the man that he could help the boy.

The Mightyenas looked at one another. They knew full well that their 'son' was a human, not a Pokemon. They'd wanted him to return to humans if he could, he was alone out here, and he needed others of his kind. They nodded to one another solemly, they loved their son, but he needed help and to be where he belonged. They talked it over with their 'sons', the boy didn't take it well but they managed to convince him, but he demanded Poochyena go with him. Though Forest didn't understand any of it.

The two Mightyena licked their children goodbye and nodded to Forest. They licked his face, thanking him.

Forest smiled worriedly, still in a lot of pain. He limped further away and picked up his flashlight while balancing on a tree. Forestwalked further and further away, but noticed as he exited the forest and stepped into the dark hospital parking lot, the boy wasn't following him. Forest didn't know his way back; and he didn't know if the boy could follow. He decided not to go back, and see if the boy came for him, even though he knew the boy helped him a great deal.

He walked back into the sliding doors of the ER; bandaged his forehead again; and returned to work, trying to hide his head wound from all of his colleagues.

The Mightyena's scratched at the door behind Forest. They'd followed him, carrying their 'son' the whole way, under the impression Forest had lead them. They knew it was a hospital, and what that meant, they knew some things about humans. They scratched further, and howled, trying to get Forest's attention.

The boy looked like his condition was getting worse.

Forest looked over his shoulder to the sliding doors: the boy and the two Mightyena were there. He called over a stretcher and opened the doors. Two of his colleagues lifted the boy onto the stretcher, and pulled him into a different room quickly. Forest looked to the Mightyena for anything else they might need or want. Was another of their group hurt?

He motioned for them to come in, if they wanted to.

The Mightyena shook their head, but pushed Poochyena lightly, telling him to stay. The little Pokemon whined but after a rather tearful goodbye, he walked up to Forest, looking up at him and cocking his head, wondering what he was wanted to do.

The two Mightyena, male and female, gave one last look before turning and walking off into the night, disappearing into the forest.

Forest lead the Poocheyena to where the boy was, and made sure he got there.

A few hours later, Forest asked one of his colleagues (one of the men that bandaged the large gash on the boy's back). "He's fine...but...he's acting strange," he said. "The boy doesn't speak, either. Just groans." Forest nodded, walking over to the boy's room and stood in the hallway.

A Nurse Joy came out of the room. "Physically, he's perfectly fine, other than the gash." she said. "And a few...defects in his hips and back." she explained, unsure if they should be called that. "They're in a way that is more suited to a quadraped than a biped." she explained. "The only explaination I have is he's a feral child." she said. "It's likely he was raised by those Mightyena, probably got lost as an infant somehow, and they took him in. Thus, he acted like them, walking on all fours, barking and howing." she said. "His body grew to accomidate this, thus why his hips and back are strange and why he doesn't seem capable of talking." she explained.

The boy set on a bed, his posture more like a canine than a human. Looking at him, some of the mutations were obvious, like how his hip joint bent and the fact his arms were longer to let him walk on all fours. His diet resulted in sharper teeth, designed to eat meat exclusively.

Forest nodded. "What are we going to do with him afterward?" he asked. The boy's "parents" had left, and Forest had no idea how to find them again. "...I'm not sure what we can do for him, considering how he's...well..." Forest walked out of the room, leaving the boy and Nurse Joy alone.

Forest sat down in a chair in the waiting room.

Nurse Joy came in a while later. "We did a DNA test." she said. "His name is Rex, but his family...they died in a plane crash, he was believed to have died as well, but he must've survived." she said. "Or been bailed out before the crash, he's got no living realitives, and given his current condition, I don't think the orphanage could handle him." she said. "If no one will take him in...he may end up in a mental hospital."

Forest ran his right hand through his short, auburn hair. "I don't know...I mean..." Forest started. "I'm not taking him in. I don't have enough time...I don't have enough patience." He walked back to the door and reviewed all of the boy's injuries, which were filed just minutes ago. "How old is he, again?"

"We'd say about 14." said Nurse Joy. "He seems to like you a lot." she said. "There are really only two options if no one takes him, a mental hospital, and feral children have a low success rate in that envirnment." she said. "Most ether die or break out, hurting others and themselves in the process. They can't handle being confined in such a small area."

"Right..." Forest said. "And...I'm still not sure about that...he didn't really care when I came into the room." He got up, and put the files back into their appropriate cabinet. "I don't know anything about taking care of that kind of...person." Forest turned back to face Nurse Joy again. "Anyway...how's his back?"
