Team Galactic HQ- Veilstone City

Charon stared at the large crowd of Team Galactic members that gathered inside the large assembly room of the Team Galactic HQ. They had to be several hundred people here, all to help their cause of creating a new world. Of course, none of them knew of that plan, instead thinking that Team Galactic would be fixing the world's problems, but it didn't matter, as they would create that new world that he and his boss had dreamed of for so long.

"Ugh, what's taking you so long Charon?" groaned the lazy Mars, "I have to watch the new episode of Digano: The Next Generation!"

"Yeah, and I have to get my nails done," revealed the vain Jupiter, who was also out to make herself look beautiful.

“I just want to get out of here,” admitted the odd ball Saturn.

The three of them were fellow commanders of his, although they were all much younger. There were two others, Neptune and Mercury, but they were unable to attend this ceremony. Those five, like the other members, didn’t know about the Boss’s true plans, but they were sure to follow all the commands the two men would give them. Except for that wild Mercury. Charon sighed just thinking about him.

He straightened his back and spoke into the microphone, “Salute to all you Team galactic members and welcome to the rank up ceremony. Today, we shall be honouring several individuals who have proved their loyalties to the plan of making a better world. Once I say your name, please come up and receive your Galactic Dex, which shall help you analyse all Pokèmon and will help you battle better. Also, once you have received that, please head out back, where we’ll give you your mission details. OK? Now first up…”

Route 202- Outskirts of Sandgem Town

Tobias walked down a small dirt path on Route 202. Trees neatly lined it, as if it were directing Tobias to the small town that was dead ahead. He glanced at his Pokètch, which red “11:50 AM”. He dropped his bag to the ground and opened it. He took out an envelop that had been torn open. Inside was a letter that read:

“Dear Tobias Alkai,

My name is Professor Reginald Rowan and I ask you to come to my lab in Sandgem Town on Friday, July 10th at 12 noon for a special meeting. There, I need to ask you something. Please attend.

~Professor Rowan”

He read it over, wondering what the man wanted. He had received the letter from a Staravia, which then left. He had been just outside of Hearthome and he quickly changed direction and head towards the place specified on his town map. He was just about there.

He walked into the small sandy town which reminded him of a postcard he had received from his parents the day before the incident. He shook his head and head to the center of the town and found a large building.

It was made from burgundy bricks a pitch black tiles on the roof. It was two storeys and out side was a sign that said “Professor Rowan’s lab.” He knocked hard on the large wooden door.

“Just a minute!” called a voice from inside. A few moments later, the door opened slightly and a blue haired girl poked her head out and examined him, “Alright, you may come in.”
She opened the door and Tobias walked in. The lab was huge and had bookshelves lining the wall. Machines were also being used, humming slightly. The girl pointed at a nearby table, where there were a couple of baskets of food on top and chairs surrounding it.

“Sit down and wait,” she commanded, “the others should be here soon, then the meeting will start.

(OOC: OK, Team Galactic members, post your happenings before the ceremony and then have your presentation, before heading into the backroom. Resistance members, arrive at Rowan’s lab. Once everyone has posted their arrival, the true RPing begins.)

Lulu was breathing heavily. She had to run away as far as possible from her home, Snowpoint. She had recently been intrested in team Galactic for a while and has been urging to join for a while to be loved. Her exuastion caused her to be late for the Team Galactic opening ceremony. At least she came on time to hear about the Galactic Dex.
"Hi I'm Lunette Lulluby from Snowpoint City and I'm hoping to be a great addition to this prospering group. Oh yeah you all can call me Lulu if you want." she said. Lulu took the Galactic Dex.

Krestal sat on a tree branch, looking around. She had just visited her family when a letter came to her, saying that she needed to be in Sandgem. She was a little confused as to why she had been chosen to come there. She wasn't anything special as far as her trainer abilities.

She sighed and jumped down from the branch. Looking at her Poketch, she saw that it was 11:51 AM. Most people would have paniced, but she calmly took out a Pokeball and threw it in the air. It opened and released Ichigo.

Krestal walked over to Ichigo and patted him on the head. He lowered his head slightly and closed his eyes, a smile appearing on his face. Krestal got on his back, and put her hand on a pocket, where she had folded the letter and put it in.

"Lets go." Krestal said. Ichigo barked in agreement and charged ahead. Krestal checked the time. 11:52. She took a look at her surroundings, and saw that they were close to the town.

Ichigo slowed down when they had arrived. Krestal got off and walked over to the lab. She raised her arm, fixing to knock on the door, but she pulled her arm back slightly, hestating. Ichigo nugded her in the back, trying to encourge her. She looked at him, and nodded. She took a deep breath and knocked. They waited for a few moments. The door opened just enough for a blue haired girl to see them.

"Okay, come on in!" The girl said, opening the door all the way. Krestal walked in, stratching her arm out of nervousness.

"Sit over there. The others will come and then the meeting will start." She pointed a table that had a couple baskets of food on it.

"Thanks." Krestal mumbled, not loud enough for the other girl to hear it. She walked over to the table and sat down, not bothering to return Ichigo. She saw a boy already sitting at the table. She sat at the other end of it, as far away as she could from the boy. She kept her eyes focused on the floor. Ichigo laid down at her feet. They both waited patiently.

Adrian Rose had been with Team Galactic for about a year and a half now and was still expected to go to daily classes, seminars, lessons, and other rudimentary tasks. Because he thought so highly of himself, he rarely showed up. He believed that his grandfather taught him everything he needed to know in order to be a good Grunt and an even better leader, and he demonstrated such by scoring highly on the exams and quizzes. Today was no different, and while the rest of the lower level Grunts were sitting intently in the middle of a class on steath and infiltration, Adrian was on his own out in the town. However, now he was much less than calm, and scrambled across the streets.

"It should not have taken them that long to make two cheeseburgers!" He sprinted down the sidewalk, heading toward the headquarters. Precious, the young Igglybuff, was bobbing up and down on his shoulder as he ran, nibbling on a cheeseburger contently. He was holding her in place with his right hand, while his left held two roses close to his chest.

"We'd better not be late..."

They finally arrived at the base headquarters and made their way to the assembly room. Grunts continued to poor in, showing that they weren't as late as he'd feared.

"Let's go snag us a spot, P." After a brief period of waiting, Adrian's name was finally called, and he did his best to look at least slightly surprised. He walked up smugly to the podium, grabbed his Galactic Dex, and gave a deep red rose to Mars and a light purple rose to Jupiter. He didn't think any of them would openly appreciate his gesture, but he smiled as he decided that it would earn him some points subconciously.

Jonny stood outside a large building in his hometown of Jubilife City. He looked at his watch and saw that it was nearing noon. Reaching down to his belt, he unhooked a red and white capsule and flipped it into the air. A brief burst of light and then a large dark colored bird with a red crest and powerful talons appeared. "Sammy, I need a ride to Twinleaf Town. Professor Rowan wants to see me." Jonny said to his Staraptor which nodded. Grinning, Jonny hopped on and Sammy quickly took off for the nearby town.

"Man, I love flying!" Jonny shouted as they sped through the air. Trees shot by faster than he could keep track and after a few minutes, Sammy landed smoothly in front of Professor Rowan's laboratory. "Great. We're here." Jonny said to himself as he looked at his watch once again and saw that he had a few minutes to spare. "Thanks Sammy. Return... Oh, not again!" Jonny shouted as he saw two flashes of red light rather than the one that should have occurred. While Sammy had returned to his ball, Jonny's Jolteon had popped out of his. "JET!" Jonny shouted in exasperation. Realizing that there was no point in trying to get Jet back into his ball, Jonny looked down and said, "Fine. You can stay out."

Walking over to the lab doors, Jonny took off his sunglasses and perched them on top of his white hat. He knocked on the door and after a moment a girl answered. "Hi!" She said cheerfully. "Come on in."

"Thanks." Jonny smiled brightly at her as he and Jet walked in.

"Just sit with the others and wait. We'll be starting shortly." The girl said and Jonny nodded as he looked around and saw that one boy and one girl were already there. Taking a seat between the two of them, Jonny leaned back and put his feet on the table.

******* 8:50am, Eterna City, Edward's hotel room *******

Edward McDowell, scrutinised his appearance briefly in the mirror of is hotel room's poky bathroom. Seeing that he looked at least respectable he switched off the light, silencing the fan's low drone and stepped into the cramped room. It was small, cheap and clean enough. He didn't care really, anything was better than staying in a Pokémon centre dorm so far as he was concerned.
He looked over to see Prinplup still snoozing at the foot of the lone single bed.
“Hey, wake-up sleepy head, the Gym will be opening soon. I'm heading out, you coming with me or what?” He chided with gentle mockery.
The blue penguin immediately woke with a start and sat up to chirp at it's trainer in the affirmative.
“Good. Though I'm going to avoid having you battle a grass type Gym Leader if I can help it.” Edward said as he held out Prinplup's pokéball, which sucked the water type within its confines in a burst of red light.
Having checked the room to make sure it was now empty of all his belongings, Edward pulled on his faithful jacket and turned out the light before stepping out of the room and locking it. He handed in his key at the reception desk and thanked them from their hospitality even though no thanks was particularly due, and left the hotel.
His destination was the Eterna city gym. He made his way to the southbound main road, one of two that crossed perpendicularly through the city. There he found a large town map and identified the building to be across the road and a little way out of town.
It took him only around 15 minutes to walk there though as his usual walking pace resembled marching. Soon therefore he found himself standing before a large circular building which resembled an ancient arena, now overgrown with plants. It was in fact a relatively new building, yet plant life had been encouraged to grow up and around and over the place.
As he approached the large double doors they slid back automatically. Just inside was a semicircular reception desk in an otherwise plain room, albeit filled with potted plants of many varieties. At the desk sat a blond haired woman who immediately gave a stock greeting.
“Good Morning, are you here to challenge the Gym Leader Gardenia?” She chirped, far too happy for the time of the morning in Edward's opinion.
“I am.”
“Excellent! If I could jus-...”
“My Name is Edward McDowell, Here is my Coal Badge which I received from Roark in the Oreburgh Gym, Yes I am aware that I will have to battle other trainers first and no I don't need any clues about the gym puzzle...” Edward cut across her, already aware of the necessary protocol , he found it best to cut to the chase.
“Oh... Yes... Ok. Um... Great thanks well, Edward if you'd just like to make your way through the door over there you will find the challenge chamber. Good luck.” The woman was somewhat startled but scribbled down the necessary information on some paperwork and filed it away, regaining her composure once done.
“Thank you.” Edward inclined his head and left through the indicated door.
Within he found himself in a vast circular room, or rather a courtyard as there was no roof. The entire area was filled with luscious greenery and flowers. There appeared to be a raised platform in the middle of the room yet its exact nature was concealed by the rows of bushes and flowers that separated Edward from it.
A young woman with longish brown hair that possessed a beautiful lustre approached him, pushing off from the tree against which she had been leaning.
“Hi, I'm Caroline. I'm the first Gym trainer you'll have to face before you can get to Gardenia. What's your name?” She greeted him thus.
“My name is Edward. Can we skip further formalities and start the battle?” He suggested.
“Sure! I like your style. I'll go first.” She announced, skipping backwards a few meters to allow them room to battle. “Let's go Cherubi!” She called, releasing the cherry pokémon. It danced around energetically as soon as it was released.
'Cherui Cherui!'
“Hmmm...” Edward looked at the open sky above, already the morning sun was out in full force and beaming down into the arena. Ok, that makes things more interesting, Cherubi's speed will be significantly increased in weather like this... I should watch out for that. “So be it, Staravia your opponent is a small, fast, grass type, basic pokémon.” Edward briefed the bird pokémon as he simultaneously hurled it's pokéball into the space between the two trainers. It released it's occupant in mid-air before returning to his outstretched hand.
'Starrravia!' The black and white bird pokémon glared at it's cheery opponent whilst it hovered, ever focused in battle.
“He has us at a disadvantage Cherubi! Stay sharp!” The Lass called from her side of the field.
“ Staravia, it's quick because of the sun. Use your keen sight and hit it with aerial ace. You can't miss.Go now!”
'Starrra!'
Cherubi may have had it's speed boosted but was still out of Staravia's league in that respect. The flying type darted above the small pokémon, out of it's line of vision.
“Cherubi! It's right above you! Look out!” The girl called to her pokémon.
“Too late...” Edward muttered as Staravia dived out of the air and raked the cute grass type with its talons, even though it had already begun to dodge. It was a direct hit and the type match up was good. The outcome was exactly as Edward had predicted.
“Oh, never mind Cherubi, return!” Caroline recalled her fainted pokémon with a sigh. Regretful that there had been nothing she could do to prevent that hit. “Next up is you Roselia! Keep your eye on the skies!” She called as she replaced Cherubi's pokéball and released the thorn pokémon.
“Wing attack.” Edward ordered flatly. Staravia complied and struck at the Roselia whilst it was still announcing its name having appeared on the field.
“You don't like to hang about do you...” Caroline said as she watched her ill prepared pokémon received blow after blow... “Now Roselia! Poison sting!”
The Grass type blocked a further wing strike before thrusting it's head forwards and unleashing a spray of needle like stings.
“Steel wing shield!” Edward called out, and just in the nick of time Staravia's wing began to gleam like burnished metal. It held it between it's body and the barrage of thorns which harmlessly bounced off the hardened limb. “Finish it with that Steel wing.”
'Starrraviaaa!' The flying type swooped into the the air, looped round behind the Roselia and slammed it's blade-like wing into it's soft back.
“ Oh owww... That looked like it hurt, Roselia, come back, that's enough.” Caroline called to her weak pokémon sympathetically before it dissolved in the beam of red light from it's pokéball. “ You battle hard... but that makes you good. Congrats, you beat me. Make your way down that path there and you'll find the clock at the middle of this room. I say it's a clock but it's not a timepiece really it just looks like one. Now that you have beaten me it should line up to allow you to reach the next trainer. Ok?”
“Yeah, I'm sure I'll figure it out. Thanks. Oh, do you need a potion for your Roselia? Here have this one...” Edward felt he had been a little too aggressive and felt bad so he began to rummage in his satchel bag for the promised recovery item.
“Oh, Thank you that's a kind offer, but it's really ok. As you might have noticed my Roselia has the Natural Cure ability rather than Poison point, so it will be fine with time.” Reassured the female trainer.
“Ah, yes, of course, I see. Staravia didn't get poisoned from the battle, despite only using contact attacks, did you my friend?” Edward held out his arm for his slightly quirky bird Pokémon to perch on.
'Starravia.'

******* 2 similar battles and some messing about with a giant clock later*******

Finally Edward reached the door at the far side of the courtyard from that through which he had entered. Beyond awaited Gardenia, the Eterna city gym leader. Staravia, the sole pokémon called upon thus far still perched on his shoulder. Edward made sure to collect and focus himself before touching the button on the left side of the doorway causing the metal door to slide back and reveal a good sized room of cube-like proportions. There was no décor on the walls or ceiling to speak of on three rows of red seating on three walls set on raised platforms and a walkway of smoothly surfaced stone surrounded a square of nature. It looked more than slightly bizarre to see a stand of trees with mature grass and seasonal flowers enclosed in this grey room.
The room that had been dimly lit suddenly brightened as he stepped within. The very ceiling split right down the middle and with a rumbling and whirring of electrical motors, rolled back to reveal the sky and more importantly the bright mid-day sun above...
Uh-oh...
In a clearing, amidst the trees and bushes stood a young woman probably just a couple of years older than Edward. Her hair and eyes were a light reddish-brown though her hair had dark roots. She wore clothes of earthy tones made from coarse natural fibre. She waved to him to get his attention.
“Over here! Come on I've been waiting for the first challenger of the day.” She called with energetic impatience.
Edward made sure not to hurry just on account of her impatience but quickly arrived on the grassy area none the less.
“Gardenia, I challenge you to an official Gym battle. Will you accept my challenge?” Edward proposed his challenge confidently. Staravia added it's own chirp at the end of his sentence.
“Indeed I do. You're Edward I'm told, right?”
“Yeah.”
“Fine then. Prepare to battle, Edward, and whatever you do , don't disappoint me! Lets have some fun! Will someone referee for us please!?” She called over her shoulder for someone to officiate the match. A single door at the far side of the room opened and a dark haired woman with glasses and a Nuzleaf in tow emerged. She wordlessly approached the referee's podium before announcing the match.
“This, is an official Sinnoh Pokémon League match between Eterna Gym Leader, Gardenia and the challenger, Edward McDowell! You will each use up to three Pokémon each, no shifting, no time limit! The leader will choose her pokémon first. Begin!”
Gardenia flicked a smile at Edward from across the field before glancing at the sky, smiling again and then finally selecting her first Pokémon.
“All right, its a lovely day Cherrim, Lets go!” Shouted the Gym Leader as she threw her fist battler into the fray. From the thrown ball emerged a Cherrim which quickly blossomed into full flower under the abundant sunlight. “What will your pokémon be Edward?”
“Once more into the breach, Staravia.” Edward responded, shrugging the bird pokémon from his shoulder. It flew down to land a few meters from the grass pokémon. “Staravia, this is the evolved form of the Cherubi you fought earlier, it too will be faster in sunlight, like now, so keep your eyes on it closely...”
“Ah I see. Well at least it's not a fire type, I hate it when people bring fire-types in here.” Gardenia commented.
“Staravia, Quick attack.” Edward ordered and the flying-type dashed forwards with a great flap of it's wings. The bird became as a blur but...
“Cherrim, dodge!” Gardenia's Cherrim was too fast and by the time Staravia got there there was no target.
“Staravia, fly up high!” Edward called and Staravia spiralled upwards out of the top of the building...
“Cherrim! The perfect opportunity! Solarbeam!” Gardenia almost laughed in triumph.
“No! Staravia move to cast your shadow over Cherrim!” And so before Cherrim could fully charge it's sunlight was blocked and it was forced to return to it's other, sadder forme. This slowed it's charging of Solarbeam just enough so that Staravia could dive bomb the grass type as the concluding part of it's fly-attack.
'Starrraaaaaviiiaaaaa!' The bird pokémon slammed home and the two battlers disappeared in a cloud of dust...
“Whirlwind attack now!” Edward ordered and suddenly the dust cloud became a small tornado which spewed Cherrim out towards it's trainer before dispersing to reveal the victorious Staravia.
“Cherrim is no longer able to battle. Staravia takes the first round!” Called the umpire, gesticulating towards Edward's side of the field, a movement mirrored by her Nuzleaf.
Gardenia gasped “ Well done so far, challenger... you beat one of my best, but I's far from over yet! Return Cherrim!”
“Great work Staravia, you still ok to carry on?” Edward bent down to ask the pokémon that now hopped up to his feet.
'Starra'
“Good to hear it. Get ready for the next round.” He smiled.
“Ok, now it's your turn, Turtwig!” Gardenia wasted no further time in choosing her next pokémon, she was eager to continue and maintained a confident facial expression despite her initial loss. “Razor leaf that Staravia!” She cried, trying to catch Edward off-guard.
“Staravia, how's your tennis? Steel wing!” Edward retaliated with a rare grin.
The tiny leaf summoned several more to join it's current two leaves and hurled them at Staravia with dangerous speed and force. In response Staravia focused energy into its wings and planted its feet. Those wings became once again like metal, shimmering and rigid. As the razor-like leaves came close Staravia used it's wings to beat them back at the attacking Turtwig, which was in turn forced to dodge it's own attack.
“Now! Use that Steel wing!” Edward demanded and Staravia delivered, ramming the shaken grass-type hard. Turtwig was far more robust than most other grass-pokémon however and survived the attack, thanks to it's hard shell.
“Tch... Good move. Ok ,Turtwig, we've taken down flying-types before. Try the usual tactic!” Gardenia had finally begin to show signs of stress and tried to cover-up her strategy by avoiding announcing the attack to be used.
The Turtwig leapt into the air and Staravia followed suit. Then Turtwig unleashed what Edward recognised to be a leech seed from its forehead twig.
“Staravia dodge that seed!” He cried and Staravia only just succeeded in fulfilling that request, but then the seed burst open and let forth its roots anyway which made to bind the bird pokémon. “Quickly! Aerial ace!”
With that Staravia shredded the roots with wings talons and beak.
'Starrraiva!'
“Knock Turtwig out with Takedown...” Edward said with a note of finality. Staravia responded by dive bombing the tortoise hard and the two ground their way along the floor as the force of impact decreed. Staravia undoubtedly took recoil damage, but Turtwig took the brunt of the force and was promptly knocked unconscious.
“Turtwig is unconscious and therefore unable to continue! Staravia wins the second round!” The referee again announced the results to a non-existent crowd...
“Don't think I'm concerned yet, because I'm not!” Gardenia shouted over to him. “ This is still far from over! Take down that Staravia, Roserade!” Roserade's pokéball arced gracefully into the arena and the lash of light faded to reveal a confident and very handsome specimen of the species. This was going to be more of a challenge.
'Roserade!' It announced itself.
“Staravia, I can't shift you out, its the rules I'm afraid. Are you gonna hold up still?”
'Starr-avia'
“Ok then, but be careful, this one looks tougher than the others. And what's that in it's bouquet? A Sitrus berry? That means we have even more work to do. Prepare yourself.”
“Poison sting, Roserade!” Gardenia opened the third round too. Edward liked short sharp battles, but Gardenia seemed to be beating him at his own game, but not winning her own game...
'Roooooooserade!' The bouquet pokémon began to spray poisonous missiles from it's bouquets in concentrated bursts at the flying-type. Staravia's aerial agility was sufficient to allow it to avoid these for a time at least.
“Keep it up ,Staravia! Look for an opening to use Fly-attack.” Edward called to his rapidly tiering pokémon. He was worried for it.
“That's not working Roserade. I know, use Petal dance!” Gardenia changed her tactics suddenly. Now Roserade began to spin and dance in the centre of the field, its flowers shaking to the beat of the silent music. As a result swathes of petals were thrown outwards in all directions. They scythed around Roserade like a haze and both Gardenia and Edward were forced to take cover.
Staravia had succeeded in dodging Razor leaf and Poison sting attacks but now projectiles came randomly from everywhere in all directions. In short it was only a matter of time before the frequent impacts from those petals it cold not avoid served to bring the starling pokémon down...
“Beautiful dancing Rosereade!” Gardenia called to her pokémon from the bush in which she sheltered from its continuing attack.
This will continue until Roserade becomes confused...
“I choose you, Drifloon! You've got to get as close to Roserade as possible without getting punctured! Use minimise and get dodging petals!” Edward's orders may have sounded unusual and indeed must his choice of Pokémon but he had his strategy all planned out.
The balloon pokémon let out all of it's air and charged towards the still spinning Roserade, now little bigger than a ping-pong-ball. It successfully ducked and weaved it's way close to the dancing grass type.
“Ok, good work Drifloon. Inflate with Ominous wind!” Edward called out from behind the tree trunk behind which he sheltered from the petals. Drifloon expanded once more and was instantly torn to shreds by the raging petals. The Ominous wind it had stored within itself spilled out all over Roserade and made it feel awful. The confused and spooked pokémon stopped spinning and staggered there stunned. Drifloon was in a very bad way but still had something left in it.
“Now Drifloon! Explosion!”
With an almighty boom, what was left of Drifloon exploded violently, throwing Roserade right out of the arena. When it came to rest up in the stands it had already fainted.
“Drifloon AND Roserade are unable to battle. Round three is a draw!” 'Nuz' The referee and her pokémon gesticulated the balance before announcing the results of the entire battle. “With Gardenia having had three of her Pokémon defeated and the challenger, only two, I must declare the challenger the victor of this battle!
“Argh... Thank goodness the petal dance has stopped. I should really stop using that attack, its too chaotic... Oh! Where are my manners. Congratulations, that was an exceptional battle, Edward. I knew I had found a winner in you. You have real talent in battle.” Gardenia emerged from her bush and Edward from behind his tree. The two recalled their utterly spent pokémon before turning to face each other in the centre of the field.
“Umm... Thank you. I'm pretty sure I'm not exceptionally good yet, but I'm going to work on it.” Edward mumbled in response to being complemented.
“Good. I'll look forwards to having a re-match with you someday. Now I believe you came for this, am I right?” She said holding out a forest badge which had been held tightly in her palm the whole time.
“Indeed I did. Thank you. I really feel I earned this, it was a challenging battle.” Edward confessed and expressed his appreciation before bidding the Gym Leader farewell and turning to leave the way he had come...
He pinned the Forest badge next to the Coal badge inside his jacket with a twinge of pride and then looked up as he walked out of the front exit from the Gym to see two strange people in silver suits one with pink hair one with aqua blue, essentially mugging another trainer, except they were not searching for his wallet, but rather his Pokémon.
Barely able to believe what he was watching Edward ran up to the and yelled at them;
“What the hell do you think you two are doing? Leave that man alone and unhand his pokémon, you thieves!”
“Shut-up and get outta here kid or do you want us to take yours as well? Besides we aren't thieves... we're borrowing them for the good of mankind.” The male grunt turned his head and spat at Edward before returning his attentions to the helpless man.
“I don't care who's good it's for your methods at least are wrong and should be punished. If the one to do that need be me I shall do it!” He growled menacingly.
“You don't scare us. Ignore him Rick.” Said the girl mugger.
“Enough! I've warned you. Luxio! Go!” Edward roared and hurled Luxio's pokéball at the male mugger. It impacted with h side of the head and that did it.
“You little ****** I'll have you! Go get him Golbat!” Raged the injured male. He had turned all his attention on Edward now and so the woman could no longer hold onto the poor trainer and he was finally able to escape with his pokémon.
“You've robbed us of our bonus pay, boy do you know that!?” She pointed at Edward, now in a fury herself. These guys were quick to anger. Edward however was unfazed.
“Boy? Ha, that's rich coming from you. You can't be over 17 yourself.” Edward responded in mock amusement.
“Grrrrr... Whatever! You go too Graveler!” She released the rock-type to support her colleague.
Damn... two on one... Guess I'll have to make this a doubles battle...
“Join the fray, Roserade!
“Gardenia!?” Edward turned on his heel to see the Eterna City Gym leader running up behind him.
“Roserade and I are here to help! Lets get these goons!” She had become energized again already.
“But Roserade can't have recovered from our battle yet...”
“Does it look in bad shape?”
“No... It looks fine... Revive plus full restore?”
“Yep, how did you guess?”
“Never mind, lets get this over with. You take Graveler with Roserade.” Edward concluded.
“My thoughts exactly.” said Gardenia.
“Luxio! Thunderbolt that Golbat!”
“Roserade! Use Magical leaf on Graveler! They called simultaneously. With effective use of weaknesses and type-match up the battle did not last long at all...
“Damn... ...I...we lost so easily!?” Cried the female mugger.
“Of course we did, that's the Gym leader of this city. Lest just retreat for now.” The older male advised and hence the two recalled their fainted pokémon hurriedly and disappeared down a side road at full running pace.
“Well, I guess that's that. Thank you for your assistance, Gardenia.”
“Not at all. I couldn't just watch that happen from safe inside my Gym. I'm just glad you confronted them because I don't think I could have got here in time otherwise and that poor man would have had his pokémon stolen...”
“Who were they, those people in the strange uniforms?” Asked Edward, suddenly curious.
“They are members of an organisation called 'Team Galactic'. They say they are looking to build a better future for our world, but all I see is them causing trouble. Indeed I have my contacts and I think they are sinister. I'm not alone in that either... You know what? Edward, I think you're just the kind of person who can help us with this.
We, the majority of the Sinnoh Gym Leaders and Professor Rowan and his aides are agreed that something needs to be done about Team Galactic. We are setting up a resistance. I think you would be very useful to our cause. Would you join us?”
“Of course I would. If that's Team Galactic and they steal Pokémon of innocent people then I'll make it my business to take them down, personally, single-handedly if I have to!” Edward growled, still enraged at what he had just witnessed. It was just so wrong... He hated the fact that such things could even exist or occur in this world.
“It's great that you are keen. I'll look forwards to working with you on this. But first , all recruits are to go and meet Professor Rowan in Sandgem Town. The meeting is tomorrow. Will you be able to make it there?” Gardenia asked.
“Umm... Yeah I'll find a way.”
“Great. Thanks for this, Edward.”
“No problem, I want to help.”

******* The next day, 11:59, Sandgem Town *******
After earning himself a bicycle from the man who's pokémon he saved, who as it happened owned the bike shop in Eterna , and ridden all evening yesterday and morning today, Edward finally arrived with not a moment to spare outside the famous Rowan Laboratory, the place where he had received Prinplup a few years before. He knocked hesitantly...
After a moment a dark blue haired girl appeared at the door and bade him enter. Already inside was a collection of other trainers. He chose to stand, leaning against the wall, near the table, but far enough away so that no-body would particularly feel like going to the effort to talk to him. He crossed his arms in front of his chest and set about waiting for the meeting to start, as he had been told it immanently would.

OOC: Eheh... sorry. It seemed like a good point to start from... but I guess I got carried away... Its only 4412 words. It couldn't take THAT long to read right? :look:

*oh my. Gone are the days when I had the longest posts.*

OOC: o_O ... wow.

I didn't realise that Staravia learned gust. I thought it was whirlwind.

Team Galactic HQ- Veilstone City

"And finally, Issac Jackson!" Charon announced the final name and a boy around the age of 16 with short, spiky, brown hair came to the top of the stage. He wore the standard uniform of a Team Galactic member. He grabbed his Galactic Dex and left the stage.

Charon told the other three commanders to follow him and they walked back stage. Inside were about 10 members. Charon spoke to them, "Hello, new members and new sub commanders. Welcome to the inner ring of Team Galactic. To celebrate this occasion, as soon as we're finished, you will all receive a Bronzor. You do not have to use it, but it is just a gift from us to you.

"Now, our first order of business," Charon cleared his throat, "I require you all to head to the Valley Windworks near Floaroma Town. There, you meet the commander known as Neptune. You must help her extract the energy from that area, as it is needed in the plan to fix the problems here in Sinnoh.

“Next, you will no doubt come across the Resistance, a stupid little group who thinks that what we are doing for Sinnoh is ‘evil’. If you fight them,” Charon’s voice became rather evil sounding, “crush them at all costs!

“Now, head to your destination and help us make this world better!” Charon laughed, “Live long and prosper! You are all dismissed!”

He chucked ten balls, each containing a Bronzor. They all fell into the hands of the members that were just honoured.

Professor Rowan’s Lab-Sandgem Town

Inide the waiting room, the girl who let them all in, Dawn Platinum, spoke up, “Well, most of you are here, so we should start. Professor!”

From the side room, a tall intimidating man walked out, followed by two boys. The man surveyed each of them, “Hello, my name is Professor Rowan and you are all here to help stop Team Galactic? Good, good. I need to tell you that they are headed to the Valley Windworks, or so my spy has told me. Please head there and stop them from extracting energy that is precious to the world. You will be aided by my helpers, Dawn, Lucas, and Barry along with the gym leader of Oreburgh City, Roark. He is waiting outside in his jeep. But first, I must give you all a Pokèdex. Use them to examine all the Pokèmon you meet on your missions. Her you go.”

He walked around the table and passed each of the trainers a red rectangular device.

“Alright, head out now,” he ordered, “I’ll wait here to direct any late ones to the Windworks.”

He then dismissed them.

Tobias left the lab and walked out to the jeep that was waiting outside and spoke to the driver, a tall man with a burgundy hard hat and glasses, “Hello Roark! Remember me?”

He nodded, “I remember most of you. Are you all ready?”

(OOC: TG members head to the launch pad, but remember to add the Bronzor to your on hand team in your sign up, if you want to use it. Give it its own personality and nickname. Resistance, head to the jeep and speak to Roark.)

Aaron was cursing under is breath as he ran for Rowan's lab. Of all days for a thunderstorm it had to be today. He was going to be so late... so late.

Chloe and Victor, who were outside their pokeballs for the exercise, ran after Aaron.

Aaron burst through the door of the lab and saw a lot of other people there. They were staring at him as he ran forward, panting, "sorry... late... thunderstorm... had to stop." He looked at the Rowan, whom he knew from his picture in various books, and the three kids next to him who were passing out what were unmistakeably pokedexes. A small smile formed on Aaron's face.

Chloe and Victor ran in and collapsed next to him.

"Oooooooo, a Bronzor."said Lulu letting hers out and stared at it. "I think you'll make an excellent friend of Lulu-chan.

Bronzor stared at Lulu for a while. It seemed to make a quick bond with her. It spun around in circles numerous times. Lulu then observed the other nine members who adored thier Bronzors as well.

"Oh I forgot to give you a nickname............ uhhhhhhh you look like a tamberine(spelling?) to me so I'll call you Tamby. Now which is the slowest way to Valley Windworks.........,"

Tamby looked at her with confusion.

"Well Tamby I always like to enjoy my walk so I like to take long paths. But some people call me an idiot for that oh well." stated Lulu

OOC: Ah, my mistake, indeed it doesn't, I have changed it to Whirlwind. I just have it in my head that all the common flying pokémon know gust. Consider it a fail worthy of the anime series ^^"

******* Professor Rowan's Laboratory, Sandgem Town*******

Edward continued to lean against the wall as the meeting got under way. Less of a meeting and more of a short lecture by Professor Rowan, Edward liked it none the less since it was straight to the point and essentially handed him a prefect opportunity to go out and crush the things in life that really annoyed him.
Most would find the Professor quite intimidating, he was tall and strongly built despite his age as well as being somewhat quick to temper. But,once you knew the guy and where on his good side, there was no need to worry. Edward had met the Professor three years ago and every time Edward passed nearby he would drop in to show Rowan how Prinplup was getting along.
Having gratefully received his Pokédex from the Professor, Edward waited behind after the other's had made their way out to Roark's Jeep.
"Good Afternoon, Edward. May I see how Prinplup is getting along?" The Professor saw him waiting in a corner and approached him.
"I thought you might want to. Sure, here he is;" Edward dropped Pinplup's pokéball on the floor and the penguin pokémon was revealed. It chirped happily at the sight of it's old master. the old man crouched down and held out his hand with a smile. In return Prinplup extended it's flipper and the two shook 'hands'.
"Hmmm... You two seem to be getting along just fine. You may have trouble talking to people Edward, but you get along well with Pokémon, so what more could I ask of you really. Please continue to look after Prinplup and all your pokémon as well as you have been doing.
" I'll promise you that Professor. I'll head out to the Jeep now."
"Yes,yes. Good luck with the mission."
"Thank you... um, sir."
"Heh... on you go lad."
With that Edward opened the lab door and stepped outside. Roark waved to him from the Jeep which was looking particularly full.
"Ok, Prinplup, you're gonna have to go back in the ball now, otherwise we're not all gonna fit in."
The pokémon obliged and tapped the button on its own pokéball, retreating within.
Edward made his way over to the vehicle, it engine already started and ticking over. He found himself room in the back and pulled the door shut.
“Hello again, Roark.” He said leaning forwards to talk to the driver.
“How goes it Edward. Did you manage to defeat Gardenia?”
“I did. The badge is right here next to yours.” Edward said, patting the side of his jacket.
“Nice job. I'd have had to kill you, of course, if you lost because that would prove she is better than me...”
“Ah... I see... I had no idea it was so diplomatic. I think I'll be more careful from now on ...”
Edward sat back, flipped open his Pokédex and began exploring it's features. Well It might not tell me anything new but then again it might. At least it means I won't forget everything again...

Krestal wordlessly accepted the PokeDex and stared at it. Team Galactic. She thought. I wonder what they want. She looked up and put her PokeDex in a pocket and walked outside.

"Oh..." She turned to Ichigo. She took out a Pokeball and returned him. She walked over to Roark.

"Hey! You ready to go?" Roark asked. She nodded and got in the jeep. She reached into one of her pockets and took out a small case. She opened it, and stared at the contents. Three badges were in the case. The Coal, Forest, and Relic Badge. She sighed and closed the case, and put it back in her pocket.

Jonny watched as two other trainers pulled out their badge cases. He noticed that he was the only one out of the three with a full set. Pulling his silver badge case out of his pocket, Jonny looked at his eight badges and said softly to himself. "It's been a long time since I fought a gym leader."

"It really has Jonny." Roark had overheard Jonny's comment. "Considering you didn't fight me for your Coal Badge."

"That is true. I remember the battle I had with your father like it was yesterday." Jonny grinned as he thought about the day his young Chimchar had evolved into Monferno to earn him his first badge. "I'll tell you what... after we take care of business, I'd like to challenge you to a battle. I've decided I'm taking another shot at the league so I need some practice."

"I'd like that Jonny. My father spoke highly of you, which isn't the most common thing to hear." Roark said softly. "Now get in the jeep." Jonny nodded and hopped in.

"Alright!" Roark announced,"Everyone here? Good! Now, let's go!"

He started up the jeep and turned on to Route 201. They didn't drive for a while before an ear splicing sound came from their right. The jeep the dropped onto one side, unevenly balanced. Roark jumped out and checked the tires.

"Crap," he said, "The tires were sliced."

"Yep," a chilling voice called from above, "By us."

Above the van, on some Golbats, were a large group of Galactic Grunts. They snickered.

"Everyone," Roark called, "Send out your Pokèmon! Go, Geodude, Onix, Cranidos!"

"Go, Clefairy and Piplup!" Dawn called, lobbing her Pokè Balls out of the truck.

"Go, Mucnchlax, Galmeow and Grotle!" Lucas commanded.

"Monferno, Starly, and Buizel, I choose you!" Barry ordered.

"Go Rion, Pomia, and Kipps!" Tobias released al his Pokèmon, except for the baby Buia.

"Now! Attack!" the Galactic grunts ordered ponting to the jeep.

(OOOC: Release your Pokèmon and fight! Don't win too easily, make more then one points.)

OOC: Oh, of course, don't acknowledge I'm still standing in the lab. Oh well.

IC: Aaron whirled as shouts sounded from outside. Shouts meant trouble. Trouble meant Team Galactic... or so it would seem.

"Victor! Chloe! Let's go!" Aaron shouted as he ran out the door. He saw Team Galactic sending out their pokemon to combat the assistants and Roark, the Oreburg leader. Frowning, Aaron threw out three more of his pokeballs. Alistor took flight while Tony and Cade towered over the other pokemon. Joined by Chloe and Victor, it was an impressive sight.

Aaron smirked, "Psybeam, Flamethrower, Steel Wing, Crunch, Ice Beam!" he shouted. And his pokemon attacked.

Jonny laughed at Team Galactic's entrance. "Slicing tires... that's so amateur." He shouted to the group in the sky as he pulled two red and white balls off of his belt. "Don't even need to use my full team for this one." Jonny said as he flipped both balls into the air. "Inferno, Jet." Jonny said to his Infernape and Jolteon, who were both watching the sky. "I want you to knock them out of the sky. "Flamethrower and Thunderbolt." He didn't need to give any more direction because both of his chosen battlers had been with him for years and they were always on the same page. In a blink of an eye, a column of flame and a bolt of lightning had lit up the sky.

Krestal jumped out of the jeep. She pulled out three Pokeballs and tossed them in the air. Ichigo, Ghost, and Kaiko came out seconds before each other. Krestal looked at all the other Pokemon that the others had sent out. This shouldn't take too long. She thought.

"Ichigo, Flamethower!"
"Ghost, Razor Wind!"
"Kaiko, Bite!"

As Ichigo used Flamethrower and Kaiko bit one of the Golbats, Two small whirlwinds appeared flanked Ghost. The Absol's horn began glowing. She pulled her head back, and thrust it forward. Her horn stopped glowing and a large, white line, shaped like a scar hit one of the Golbats. Ghost panted slightly.

Shadow stood next to a tree near route 201, he leaned his back agianst the tree, crossed his arms, and closed his eyes and shortly a distant memory came to him,*"Master! No! Ahhhh!!!!" "No! Shadow!!!!!"* He shook his head,"Urgh!" *Why does that memory haunt me....* He said, shaking his head,*Why do I keep having that nightmare....* He thought to himself.

He closed his eyes once more, then he has interrupted by the sounds of the wheels of a Jeep being flattened and a group of trainers coming out of it, this did not bother him, though what did, was that he saw a fimiliar face, blue haired people, with G's on their chest. Surronded by Golbats. *Team Galactic...* He thought.

In a flash, he held up his Cherish Ball in his hands and tossed it to the air, "Go! Beta!" The humongous Metal beast came, his Metagross, Beta."Use Meteor Mash!" Shadow yelled while rushing toward the scene. The Metagross's hand started filling with a white glow, and stars surronded the fist. It hit 2 of the Golbats.
