According to pocketmonsters.net and YouTube user, gyakuten18, the latest DS demos in stores feature none other but a demo of D/P. The demo version should be fully distributed within a week.

EDIT: I went to the local Wal-Mart and was able to play the demo.

  • Demo randomly chooses version and player gender.
  • Start at Jubilife City, where Jun leads you to the entrance of Route 203. He'll keep you from going past him and forces you to go in.
  • A person near the entry will give you a Pokétch with the clock app.
  • There are three trainers
  • You have Lucario, Mime Jr. and Roselia.
  • Talk to Rowan near the cave to Oreburg to evolve Roselia into Roserade.
  • Demo ends in 10 minutes or when you talk to Lucas/Dawn.

I played it today. A few other observations:

-Text speed is set to SUPER slow. I sure hope the option to speed it up is still around.

-"[trainer name] would like to battle!" is gone. It's been replaced by "You are challenged by [trainer name]!" It is still unknown whether tag battles will use "You are challenged by [name] and [name]!" or just "[name] and [name]!" as the Nintendo Power pic with Team Galactic implies.

-You don't have any items, so don't bother looking.

-It's likely possible to win the entire demo with just Lucario. Force Palm knocks almost everything out with one hit except for Mantyke.

-In the three battles you face: Buizel, Mantyke, Chatot, Cherrim and others.

-A topic many were caught up on: the caps. The Pokémon names are still all caps (BUIZEL, CHATOT, LUCARIO) but trainer names and attack names are now written properly, only beginning with capital letters.

I also wanted to note the Nature page of the Pokémon Summary

  • Nature (Lonely, Bold, ect)
  • Date Met
  • Place Met
  • Level met

  • (Likes to thrash about, Throughly cunning, ect.)
  • Favorite Flavor

I wanna know about the second to last descriptor and what the heck it means.

I wonder if how many people I could freak out if I took my Japanese version out while kids were playing the demo....

So, it's essentially the same thing as the Japanese demo?

The other two Pokémon you battle are Kricketot and Pachirisu. That means the full lineup of appearing Pokémon in the demo is: Lucario, Mime Jr., Roselia, Roserade, Buizel, Mantyke, Chatot, Kricketot, Cherrim and Pachirisu.

Sweet,I had already planned on going to Walmart this weekend.I'll go see if my local Walmart has the demo.

The GameStop I played it at said they just got it in today.

Will it be available on the Download Play Demos too?

So will someone with a NON-SHITTY camera take some pictures or make videos? I played the Ranger Demo today in a German store but I wish it had been D/P. :<

I played through the demo twice, and to be completely honest, it's not all that great. The demo I mean!! The game itself is awesome, and the battle graphics and music are great. The grammar is updated so it actually fits into the rules of English, it's just . . it's a demo, and you can't (or at least I couldn't) bring up the start menu, battle wild pokémon, do anything really, except battle three trainers and walk around.

If you happen to be around the general area of where a kiosk is, then definitely go play it, but if you're like thirty minutes away from a gamestop, wal-mart, etc. then don't go out of your way just to play it for 10 minuets, unless you plan on getting something or going there for a reason other then that.

Now that I type this, I really want to go play it again, it's only five minutes away . . it's just. I don't know. The demo wasn't too special, but it's obviously got me wanting more.

My local EB Games doesn't have a DS display stand, so I doubt we'll be getting the demo, but I don't mind. They do have the boxes out now though, but it's just the front picture on both sides. I'm just thinking that the Australian release date might be closer than anticipated...

My Best Buy doesn't have a kiosk and my Target's kiosk is severely outdated (it only has Meteos and Trozei -_-), but I might check today if it has been updated.

I played it today and it was alright. My main problem with the game is that there is a slight half second lag between the pokeball begin thrown and a pokemon coming out. It's not a major thing that's bad, but it gets annoying.

Woah Woah, slow down there! So they're putting up the demos already in the US? Awesome! I aint gotta DS, but still...

Played it Sunday at Circuit City...

WOW. I CAN NOT WAIT. Everything I saw was a HUGE improvement over the past games... I just kept squeeing the whole time and there's this employee staring at the teenager freaking out over a Pokemon demo. If you've just seen screenshots thus far, find a demo station and PLAY IT, if you haven't already. You'll know all the waiting was definitely worth it.

Three more days...
