Pokémon DP Galactic Battles

Looking at the CN schedule, it appears that season 12 of the English dub will be titled Pokémon Diamond and Pearl: Galactic Battle.

DP105's English title appears to be Get Your Rotom Running, and the episode will air on May 9th. So it looks like there won't be a break.

Galactic Battle...not that great of a title, IMO but could be worse.

Wow, not even a little break?
I expected "DP Platinum"... I think it could fit much better than "Galactic Battle" since Galactic barely appeared... it's crazy to use them as a "title" for the show since they aren't really important
Whatever... I hope they kept the idea of the OP being a duet of Ash/Dawn (but I'm sure they didn't) just because I want to hear their Hebrew VAs sing together (well, especially Dawn's VA, I'm not sure how good Ash's can sing)

I expected "DP Platinum"... I think it could fit much better than "Galactic Battle" since Galactic barely appeared... it's crazy to use them as a "title" for the show since they aren't really important

I was thinking that too, but since so far there has not be a hint of Platinum teams being used by Candice and probably not Volkner either, or much else I think, I doubt it would have been called Platinum as the only hint of Platinum we ever got in the series was a Zapdos in Doc Brock episode, but hope the title means something, hope we see more Galactic in future, must be coming in future or the show would not have the name it has now right?.

Depending on how quickly the writers progress, the Galactic Climax may happen during the span of episodes that will fall under this title.

I think it's safe to assume they WILL use at least some of "High Touch"'s scenes (I sure hope they keep the actual high five scene)
But I'm sure they're going to disappoint me: completely destroy all the lines in the original song, randomly shout the words Pokémon and master, won't showcase Ash/Dawn as equals in the OP, have a random man sing the song and completely ignore the amazing idea of a duet

I'd pay to hear the Hebrew VAs sing together...
Actually, I guess it's not impossible for me to try and translate the Japenese song and tell the VAs I want them to sing it for me... XD but I'm too shy to try and tell them something like that

the only hint of Platinum we ever got in the series was a Zapdos in Doc Brock episode,

And the first episode of the season too - it focus on Rotom and its new Platinum clothes
EDIT: I meant Rotom's Platinum FORMS, but it's funny so I won't edit that part XD
Barry also have the Platinum Pokétch
Dawn is going to (temporarily but still) wear her Platinum clothes and I think Ash and Brock ger Lucas' Platinum clothes too
Pluto got a cameo which probably hints at a near future appearance
I think we got enough Platinum to get it in the title
It's not like it really matters much, what "Advanced Challenge" we saw during that OP time? I just think Galactic aren't important enough to actually be in such title
Even if they're going to focus on them for about 10 episodes in a row now as their final (which you know won't happen) it won't be enough for me to see it as important enough for title

but hope the title means something, hope we see more Galactic in future, must be coming in future or the show would not have the name it has now right?.

I guess it is possible they know more than us, since obviously they already got some episodes before they aired in Japan
We'll have to wait and see...

When I saw this, I immediately thought "Do the dubbers know something we don't?" That the writers of the raw would give them info that far in advance is shocking to say the least. We know a battle with Team Galactic is forthcoming, but it hasn't happened in even the raw yet. However, we have until DP156 to say it happens within this season or not. (that's 32 eps from now, 31 after the ep this week airs) I think it's still possible for them to have epic Galacticness in that time, especially since we know the Snowpoint Gym is imminent. If they follow the games (which admittedly they haven't been doing with TG at all), then the epic battle should be close at hand.

EDIT: I just realized that TG said they were going to use Hunter J, and she is going to appear in a future ep. Connection?

That was fast, May 9th? Anyway, I would love to see that Rotom episode that I have been wanting to see.

It's not a break at all - since you'd anyway wait this week for a new episode
EDIT: hey! she edited her post and I didn't notice XD she originally wrote it's the shortest break ever or something like that...

It just proves how logical and good is this way of airing one new episode a week
Here in Israel we suffer from the stupidity of all kids channels here airing new episode every day - 5/6 episodes a week!
A seasons ends here after about 2 months and we wait about a year until the next one

Season 10 ended here in January
Season 11 will begin airing here on Jetix (first time, until now Pokémon was always on another channel) from May 4th
I think that's the shortest break we ever had - about four months instead of about a year

Hopefully the move to Jetix will do only good... it seems like they almost completely followed my lists of Pokémon/attacks/other terms, so I guess with the names we won't have a problem
And for the first time ever, I guess thanks to the move to Jetix, there's actually someone who checks how they translated all the names of characters/attacks/etc and they actually demand changes if needed! they call them "the Japanese" XD I wonder who exactly these are
Too bad until we finally might get a good and consistent trandlation of characters/other terms, they change the translator every second - and the one who began translating ep 21 (and will likely stay until the end of this season) is the WORST tanslator I ever seen! I actually fixed things in his translation but that's ridiculous to do so without getting payed so I stopped doing this
I seriously hope that I'll be the translator of season 12... somehow, I must do that... I guess it's a good start that they know I fixed translation mistakes of a "professional" translator

I really really hope so. If dubbers contacted the Japanese writers, then I'd be sure that the season's name is a hint of an upcoming major event in Eichi Lake... Or maybe they're just based it on DP110 and DP111.

I doubt they had to ask the writers anything, the episodes are probably ready for about 2 months before they air... I won't be surprised if they already got some of the more advanced episodes that haven't aired in Japan yet
But I really think they randomly chose this name, I doubt it means anything big will happen with Galactic

Putting the villain team name in the title is a bad idea, since they only have very few appearances.

Well this dub season covers the next 52 episodes and we'll obviously be out of Sinnoh by then, so they probably know it'll have a climax at some point this season.

Well this dub season covers the next 52 episodes

About half ot that was already aired in Japan and all we got is one 2-parter
So I think we can say for sure this title doesn't mean anything

and we'll obviously be out of Sinnoh by then,

I seriously can't get how that seems so obvious to you
All that stuff in Snowpoint and the way to Sunnshore will probably take us to about episode 140
League + GF, let's just assume it'll be regular 7+3 (but I sure hope and believe it'd be longer, especially GF) that takes us to 150 and then E4 and some "fillers" would probably end Sinnoh at episode 160 or something like that
And I won't be surprised if they stretch it even longer than that
I think Sinnoh will continue into season 13 - THAT is what seems "obvious" currently

so they probably know it'll have a climax at some point this season.

Which will probably won't be longer than 3 episodes and won't deserve to be included in the title
We already know half of this season by the Japanese version and it's already ridiculous to use such a title when up to now all they got is 2 episodes

No way dude. By 150 we should be done. I think. I dunno it could stretch into it but not for long. I mean maybe 20 episodes or so and then carry on with whatever is after.

I think people ignore the obvious fact that gen 5 won't be here in the near future
They'll stretch Sinnoh as long as they'd be able to and then we'll have a gen-2-takeover with a BF saga which will be longer than the previous BF

Oh well, let's drop this since it's not related at all to this discussion
We'll find out when it happens so I guess it's useless to argue about it
