Pokemon DPPt Graphics Thread

I read this wiki a lot so I decided to join the forums, so here am I =D.

I found this shot, which can't be fake:

We can see it uses the normal 3D perspective as the gyms, but in the final version the camera is locked, thus the appearence is the same of a common parallel perspective as below (sorry for the quality, taken from my DS using my webcam).

I think the game would have been a lot better with 3D appearence on all the places. What do you think?

Yeah, I wish there was true 3D with a mobile camera. That'd be cool if they did it. I'll assume it'll be in generation 5, especially if it doesn't come out until the next handheld.

I think that feature can be hacked to appear again because the 3D is there but the game locks the camera, there is something different in the gyms, maybe only a single byte that makes the camera unlocked. I need to research that too... Talking about Heart Gold and Soul Silver, the music and the graphics are somewhat ugly, they don't use the complete DS power, specially the music, they simply look the GSC music but with sound samples, not a lot of extra channels, and that is bad =(.

How to use:

Go to your Poketch Calculator:

Type (#) then L+Start, release the buttons, then you go to any place that makes your screen change (houses, pokemon party, bag, marts, if you are in a place like that already going outside will work) with the "L" pressed to make that camera active in that place (you must press the L before entering)!

(#) Can be:

0 - Normal 3D (Little deformation)
4 - 2D Used on Houses, Marts, PokéCenters etc (Parallel Perspective - No deformation)
5 - 3D Used on Spear Pillar (Great deformation)
8 - 3D Used on Stark Mountain (Top down, Far camera and Small deformation)
9 - 3D Used on Oreburgh Gym (Camera from behind)
14 - 3D Used on Hall of Origin (Top down and Extreme deformation)

Obs.: No effect on the Distortion World

Looks very cool, and the 2D mode would be overly useful for getting us the Gen IV area maps onto Bulbapedia

I just don't want that tiles to be used in shitty games, the person will have to remove the watermark manually or rip it by himself.

Try ripping a map using the 2D code, you'll see it's not simply 2D, the lack of anti-aliasing makes different images for each frame, so you must use "try and error" method to get a perfect image, I won't waste 6 hours of my life to some noob just copy paste it, it's purpose it's to be a map, not a sprite rip.

Neat, hopefully this is in Gen V.

Funny, I tried it on my AR and it doesn't work. I entered the code perfectly and followed the instructions.

Awesome maps, Emerald.

I tried out that code myself for Platinum and it seemed to work alright ... but when I exited a building pressing L I would walk into this horrible black void with some clippy GIGANTIC TREES AND BUILDINGS OH GOD WHAT IS THIS.

So I turned it off. :'(
