Pokemon DW Encounter Rates?

Morning to the Forums. Someone on the Quick Answers sticky asked if the Pokemon you find on the DW are random, seeded or have actually encounter rates. So I gathered a lot data from friends and personal stuff. I have ~900 total Pokemon seen on the DW and sorted them into the various areas. There is no Pokemon that exceeded the 10% encounter rate, given that I totaled the number of Pokemon for each area and gave a percentage value for times encountered vs total number. I've attached the excel sheet with the data for anyone to do further statistical analysis as needed. If you'd like more information from the data set I can get move sets as well!

Great, so two of the Pokemon I need have 1% chance of appearing...:banghead:

But why are the percentages so small? Wouldn't this mean that the encounter rates are seeded, or perhaps even just random?
 
Do you have any information on how genders are distributed between those Pokemon? I'm interested to know if gender ratios vary between species or not.

(Also, I'm surprised to see Mawile with such a high encounter rate; it's my favorite Pokemon and I've yet to see a single one. I seem to get a lot of Wobbuffet and Houndour though...)

I do have the gender information. Give me a little bit to parse it into a decent format and I'll update my original post.

All right. I've updated the Excel document with a second sheet that has the percentage male/female. The calculation used was GENDER/GENDERS_SUM with the total percentage of female Pokemon in each region averaging ~24% (PF 26, WS 26, SS 19, SM 26, RM 22). To me that's a pretty clear indication of the rarity of females (1/4 isn't bad). I'm excited to see the numbers even out as I get more data. Feel free to help me by submitting!
 
EDIT: I completely forgot about the other Pokémon. Miltank's right, it would be bad for the data. So I'm removing it.

Interesting. I'll try and contribute some data once I've unlocked all available species, but as of right now I'm missing some, which would skew the data.
 
Thats why you trade with all the people! I've gathered about 2000 pokemon encounters now and am updating the first post! Check it out!
