Pokemon Famitsu Interview, translation needed

... you know, usually translators get paid a small, but not insignificant sum to translate so much text.

Pokeani has a summary, and it doesn't look particularly interesting.

Too bad the scans are so blurry that you cannot see the furigana. That would make it pretty fast and easy to translate. Is it possible to get them rescanned so the resolution is better and not so blurry?

Their is nothing special really, except they say their will be alot of new Pokemon....

WHOA!

I wouldn't trust a translation from a translator who needed furigana.

Furigana (ruby) is mainly used as a reading assistant. I wouldn't trust a translator either that based their translations solely on Kana. I was merely stating that the article was poorly scanned to the point where the furigana is not even visible.

I'd say that furigana is more or less irrelevant if you're translating.

But I wouldn't say that a translation by someone who translates solely kana shouldn't be trusted either. Pokemon games are well known for wide use of kana, yes?

Perhaps I should have said - I would not trust a translation by someone who can't read kanji - the only valid excuse for that is being blind. The point is not so much the source material being in kana or coming with furigana as it is the level of understanding a translator has.
