Pokémon from the Kanto region take center stage in Pokémon GO next Tuesday September 2nd in the Kanto Celebration event

It's time to celebrate the Kanto region in Pokémon GO with the Kanto Celebration event running from Tuesday, September 2nd, at 10:00am, through to Sunday, September 7th, at 8:00pm local time.

Event Bonuses and Activities
The following bonuses will be active throughout the event period:

• One guaranteed Candy XL for evolving Pokémon.
• 3× Mega Evolution duration.
• 2× XP for spinning PokéStops.
• Trainers taking snapshots during the event may receive a surprise.

Featured Attacks
Ivysaur, Charmeleon, and Wartortle that are evolved during this event will learn the following special attacks on evolution:

• Ivysaur → Venusaur: Frenzy Plant
• Charmeleon → Charizard: Blast Burn
• Wartortle → Blastoise: Hydro Cannon

Collection Challenges
Event-themed Collection Challenges focused on catching and evolving Pokémon will be available as part of this event. Trainers completing these Collection Challenges will receive Mega Energy.

Field Research
Field Research tasks will be available as part of this event. Trainers completing these tasks will receive Mega Energy, XP, and encounters with event-themed Pokémon, amongst other rewards.

Timed Research
Four separate event-exclusive Timed Research opportunities will be available as part of this event. Trainers completing these research tasks will receive XP, Stardust, Mega Energy, and encounters with Pokémon first discovered in Kanto that usually only appear in certain parts of the world.

• Kanto Celebration: Near and Farfetch'd from September 2nd, at 10:00am to September 3rd, at 10:00am local time
• Kanto Celebration: Kang You Dig It from September 3rd, at 10:00am to September 4th, at 10:00am local time
• Kanto Celebration: Mime Time from September 4th, at 10:00am to September 5th, at 10:00am local time
• Kanto Celebration: Tauros Taming from September 5th, at 10:00am to September 6th, at 10:00am local time

The tasks associated with all of these Timed Research opportunities must be completed and their rewards must be claimed before each individual Timed Research ends.

Paid Special Research
Trainers will be able to access event-exclusive Special Research for US$4.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in each local currency), awarding encounters with the following Pokémon:
