I happened to find some new information that I can't find anyone having mentioned regarding Pokemon Fusion. I could not find an appropriate thread to post to so this thread exists to discuss the possibility of Pokemon Fusion in Sun and Moon. Please keep your posts away from pure speculation or back such ideas with some good reasons. With that said here is my overview of the topic.
Ash-Greninja only existing in the anime at first made it seem that it would remain anime exclusive, but it has since been put in some side Pokemon games and into the Pokemon card game. This does not necessarily suggest that it will make it into the video games but it is similar to the process observed with Zygarde. The anime, among other media, premiered Zygarde's additional forms. They were then put into some side games, into the card game, and now has been confirmed for the video games. Ash-Greninja is just another unreleased Greninja form and very well could be confirmed for the video games with time.
Obviously Ash-Greninja is not precisely what will happen, unless it is only released by an event, but rather a fusion between a trainer and their Pokemon. Some people have drawn comparisons with this and the Pokemon Reburst manga but this is only based off the similar mechanic and resemblance between the gem icon in the Japanese Sun and Moon logos and the manga's burst hearts. I don't believe any connecting with this manga will exists nor are they trying to use the ideas of it. Pokemon fusion would still likely be related to the gems on the trainer's bracelets as this already is suggesting a new mechanic.
Finally the new information. I have not seen any mention of this but in XY there appears to be 2 suggestions towards Pokemon fusion in the same town. I merely wanted to bring this to attention since Pokemon games have often hinted toward future games. In the top middle house in Lavvere City (right next to the path to the Poke Ball Factory) there is a man who makes the comments about an old story of a Froakie turning into a human. He says that this is related to Humans and Pokemon being the same in the past but the exact meaning of this story could have been lost with time. It is also noteworthy for being a Pokemon of an evolutionary line that we already know would be able to fuse. This could suggest that non-fully evolved Pokemon can fuse, or at least the could in the past.
The other information that is strangely unexplored Valerie. She talks about how she want to be a Pokemon with her costume designs. She is able to communicate with her Pokemon in the anime. She makes a strange comment about not remembering what the TM she gives you once it leaves her possession. Finally, she says that she feels truly one with her Pokemon during battle followed by "Hmm... Could it be-- Never mind. It is nothing, kind Trainer.". Much of this could be suggesting that she is fusing with her Pokemon during and possibly outside of battle, even if the are no sign of this in her Pokemon. She already is trying to look like her Pokemon much like Ash-Greninja looks like Ash. The fact that she can communicate with her Pokemon could be from fusion but is likely a strong bond which could be required for fusion. When she loses the memory of the TM it could be like deleting the move on a Pokemon, as though she has this property of Pokemon while being fused with her Pokemon.
I realize the could be many explanations for Valerie but I have not found any and there is definitely something unique about her. Thank you for your reading and feel free to give your own information and or corrections to my information. I personally do not have a definitive opinion on fusion being within the video games but I just wanted to share this since it seemed interesting.
