Gaia Powell Battle Tournament! A tournament where one can only attend via invitation sent out personally by Gaia Powell, a powerful and rich man. Of course this won’t be just any tournament. The participants will have to undergo many things such as contests, obstacle courses, sports, etc. until the best of the best can make it to the best part, the six on six pokémon battles. And the winner of the tournament gets a special grand prize, and fame rivalling the regions champions. Not only battlers are participants of course. There are coordinators, breeders, explorers, etc. the only requirements are that the trainer must have six pokémon at least, and cannot have or be a gym leader, elite four member, or a champion of a region.

Rules:
-I am GM and ask that you please respect my position.
-Keep it Pg-13
-The events take place after all the games, three years after Kalos, and thus they may be referenced however you may not be a canon character. The player characters are canon, and their canon names are their names listed on bulbapedia. Brendan in this case is Norman’s son, and May is Birch’s daughter.
-You can be related to a canon character as long as it doesn’t conflict with their canon backstory. Check bulbapedia for their information.
-Legendaries are allowed, however only one per person, and no repeats, thus if someone takes Entei then Entei is there’s and no one elses. Also legendaries are not stronger than other pokémon. They will be on equal terms, even arceus.
-Mega evolutions are allowed. As are hidden abilities.
-Be respectful of your fellow RPers and leave no one out.
-Outside of the tournament there are no plot ideas. If you have ideas then feel free to share them. You can do this via pm, vm or even on skype. My skype name is mwtoZP for anyone who wishes to contact me on it.
-if you want your character to have some kind of ability similar to N’s then go for it.
-Any kind of trainer save for Rangers, gym leaders, e4, and champions are allowed. The first is due to the fact that rangers have a single p artner pokémon.

Appearance: Midori has brown hair tied up in a ponytail, blue eyes, and a gold clip at the top of her chin length bangs on either side, the clips in the shapes of wings. She wears a white tee with white shorts, a red vest, purple fingerless gloves, a pink bandanna around her waist, and pink/white sneakers. She stands at 5’2’’.

Personality: Midori is cheerful and caring, especially of pokémon. When it comes to pokémon she would do anything for them. She feels closer to them than she does humans and is not entirely sure how to interact with humans. Regardless she is always ready to help others. She is curious and naïve about the world outside of Ransei. However she is observant and smarter than she seems, despite being a goof.

History: Midori grew up in the city Aurora in the Ransei region. There were not many children her age and thus she had no friends outside of pokémon. At five years old she found an eevee and befriended, and later linked with it, a method of capturing unique to Ransei. From there she grew up like anyone else in Ransei. Without technology and fancy things, raised wearing things like kimonos, being taught how to be a warlord in the warring nation, hanging with pokémon, feeling the emotions of pokémon…okay so the last part was not normal. At some point that not even she knows, Midori unawaringly began to feel the emotions of pokémon. This secluded her more from her peers, however with pokémon as her friends she didn’t mind. At fifteen she left home to see the other regions. There she met her other partners through strange happenings, using her abilities, and rather than capturing them with pokeballs she linked with each one just like she was taught in Ransei.

Name: Nocturne Feros

Age; 18

Gender; Male

Region: Hoenn

Appearance: Nocturne is a wiry, tall teen with fair skin and dark emerald-colored eyes. He has raven black hair with a silvery streak running through it. He wears a black dress shirt, overlapped by a maroon blazer. He also wears dark gray jeans and black shoes. His face has a gaunt, thin look to it. The maroon blazer is usually rolled up to the elbows, revealing an inky black tattoo of a Rayquaza.

Personality: If there's one thing Nocturne isn't, it's cocky. He is a very calm and introverted individual, and he rarely gets angry. He handles chaotic situations fairly easily, and he never seems to lose his cool. His temper is actually very big, unlike what most people might think. Luckily, there has only been one time in which he'd lost it, but otherwise, many decide to leave him alone, if they know what's good for them. He also has a very deep connection with Pokemon.

History: Will come out in the RP.

Name: Milla Scarlet
Age; 16
Gender; Female
Region: Kalos

Appearance: Milla is a beautiful young women, who stands at 5,7 and weighs about 130 lbs. Milla is rather slender, with pale alabaster skin and an hourglass figure. Milla has waist length blonde hair that is pin straight, and icy blue eyes that often dazzle others. Milla usually wears a white turtle neck sweater that is form fitting in size, with a black skirt that comes to down to her upper mid thigh, with black pantyhose, and black loafers.

Personality: Milla carries herself with a grace that many others could never replicate. Despite this however, she's crude, arrogant, and condescending. She tends to look down on others with apathy and condescension. Despite this however, she despises cowardice of any sort, and will stand up for the weak if they need it.

Milla is actually rather lonely deep down, because of her past. Her cold facade is actually a coping mechanism she uses to deal with her insecurities and loneliness. Also, despite her short comings, Milla cares deeply for her friends and Pokemon, and she genuinely is a kind hearted individual.

History: All that's known about her by the other contestants is that she's a prodigy who only started battling recently, but managed to catch the attention of Mr. Powell.

Name: Melody Pia
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Region: Hoenn
Appearance: Melody is very short and fit, but is by no means weak. She has long, wavy, black hair, grey eyes and olive-colored skin. She usually wears a vest of some-sort along with denim slacks and hiking boots.
Personality: Melody is very quiet and prefers to keep to herself. She gets the task before her done with no questions asked, and doesn't like "immature fools". She sees Pokémon more as tools than she does as friends, and won't participate in a battle unless there is no other choice. She does enjoy training her Pokémon, though, and will often let them do as they please instead of keeping them in their "cages", as Melody says. If she's not working, she's most likely reading a book. If she is reading a book, Melody won't move no matter the cause. This usually leads to her Pokémon carrying her wherever she goes.

History: Melody grew up on the outskirts of Rustboro City and was taught at the Pokémon Trainer's School. When of age, she started working for the Devon Corporation, specifically working on the Pokémon Producer project. As she grew older, Melody moved up in the ranks of the corporation. She would often leave the facility to test inventions and conduct research. During the recent years, she has been tasked with finding and capturing the legendary golems of Hoenn.

Name: Ian Blake

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Region: Johto

Appearance: Standing at 5'8", Ian has tan skin and a tall, somewhat muscular build. He has messy light brown hair that ends in jagged locks near the bottom of his ears. His eyes are a light blue in color and he is, to some extent, attractive. Clothing wise, Ian wears a black V-neck along with dark blue skinny jeans, finishing the outfit with grey combat boots. He wears a necklace holding a wooden black pendant carved with a complex design. His outfits can vary, but he mostly sticks to the strict formula of a t-shirt, jeans and boots.

Personality: Ian is extremely distant and is not used to social interaction. Due to his closed up childhood, he never made any friends, thus making him socially awkward. He normally comes across as cool, calm and collected, but he is really a nervous wreck and very unsure of his actions. He is patient and has never been seen losing his temper. He acts too mature for his age, some even saying he doesn't know the definition of fun.

History: His parents divorced at a young age.

Name: Lili Mattox

Age: 22

Gender: Female

Region: Sinnoh

Appearance: Lili has caramel skin, light brown eyes and straight pale pink hair which is quite glossy. She has an angular face and a square jaw. She is 6' 2" and has a fat build. Her clothes are usually quite formal and she prefers them to be dark coloured. She often wears a ruby bracelet on her right wrist. A notable feature is her bad stance.

Personality: Lili is a workaholic. She is so passionate about her work that she often forgets to take care of herself. Her love for pokemon is crystal clear to all who view her, she adores them. Her human interactions are somewhat limited, and has trouble keeping a conversation going without looking like a total goof. The combination of her being a workaholic and her being bombarded by many of her fans across many regions, has been leaving her very unhealthily stressed. She hates being indoors and fears enclosed areas.

History: Lili was born in Jubilife City in the Sinnoh region. She was born into a normal family with her mother, father, and two older brothers. Her parents were non pokemon trainers so Lili was behind in learning about them. At the age of fourteen, people realized that Lili was a prodigy in poffin making. She was offered a job quickly despite her young age, but she quickly refused saying that she had more important things on her agenda. She befriended her very first pokemon an eevee at age fifteen, a bit late for her age. With not much of a warning, Lili disappeared away from her home town to explore the world. Her love in poffin making inspired herself to become the best chef for pokemon in the world. She traveled the other regions learning all the different cooking recipes and techniques. She learned and mastered the arts of berries, pokeblock, and poke puffs. After she created her own unique and famous recipes for each of these different type of pokemon foods, she decided to find other arts and master those as well. Lili was true to her word and goals, and after a few years she mastered the arts of apricorns and aprijuice. Those secrets also lend her in creating custom poke balls. Her final accomplish was her mastery of pokemon medicine. At the age of 20, she was famous among many if not all the major regions including, kanto, sevil islands, johto, hoenn, sinnoh, unova, and kalos. She has been given the name as the Regional Super Salesman by these regions, and Lili lives up to this new name and title.

She worries about if Gaia made a mistake in inviting her, because his invitation talked about events such as contests, obstacle courses, sports, and of course the famous 6 vs 6 full battles, but nothing about a cooking contest or anything of the sort. She figures Gaia must have invited her for a reason. She tends to find out. (If the invitation does talk about all events to the character's knowledge but not my own, I'll gladly change this other tab a bit.)

@Lucina; Accepted. If you want to link things then there are options at the top, especially in the advanced option of making posts. Also just a note, Gaia has not met any of the participants. We all just got letters, and they didn't contain all of the events, so there may be cooking yet ;)
 
Is it too late to get in this? While I've been on bulbagarden for awhile, I've never done any ROLEPLAYING on here...
 
Name: Hector Surasshu

Region: Sinnoh

Appearance: Hector wears a crimson red trainer cap with a blue poke ball insignia on the left side of it that covers his reddish-brown bangs that surround the sides of his head. He has black (or very dark brown if you want to be literal) eyes and peach fuzz on his chin. He often wears a blue windbreaker with a black shirt underneath it and faded blue jeans. His red messenger bag that is always slung around his shoulder is patched up in multiple spots due to years of adventuring. He will wear either blue sneakers or sandals whenever the weather calls for it.

Personality: Hector is a social and fiery guy who enjoys battling and competition more than anything in life. He tends to be frighteningly rash in virtually any situation possible, and prefers to use an all-out attack pattern in both Pokémon and human battles. He addresses people that he isn’t intimately acquainted with a gruff tone and a less gruff tone with his friends.

History: Hector was born and raised on Mitonga Island to a mother and father and spent most of his childhood playing in Daybreak Ruins. There, he would playfully wrestle with the resident Pokémon and build up his strength for his journey. However, his chance to get his starter Pokémon was delayed for a year due to the events of Pokémon Ranger Guardian Signs. When he was able to get his starter Pokémon, a Scyther, he set out on his journey through the nearby Sinnoh region. Hector was able to get all the region’s badges and even defeated the Elite four, but has yet to beat the champion. For now he hones himself and his Pokémon through any challenge and tournament he can find and enter.

Name: Raven Cerina
Age; 16
Gender; Male
Region: Johto

Appearance: Raven is 5'9 with dark brown hair, hazel eyes that switch between brown and green. While his shoulders are broad, he is not particularly muscular. He wears a loose, grey t-shirt, accompanied by a black hoodie if the weather calls for it. His blue jeans have suffered a few tears over the years, but are still in usable condition. He has a white backpack, black fingerless gloves with white cuffs, and black sneakers. His hair tends to stay slightly messy, and he never wears hats.

Personality: Raven is shy, and it can be hard for him to make new friends. However, once he relaxes, his true colors show - he can act incredibly childish and tends to have a good attitude. While he hates fights and tries to stick to fair reasoning, he can be pushed over the edge, his usual childish expression being replaced with one of pure anger. He also considers himself to be his worst enemy, and rarely accepts compliments. However, when it comes to his friends (which include his Pokemon), he is incredibly caring.

History: Raven was born and spent most of his early life in Goldenrod city. One day, while Professor Oak was in town for a radio show, he somehow managed to get close enough to request a Kanto starter, and ended up with his personal favorite of the three - Squirtle. The duo spent their days exploring every nook and cranny of Goldenrod, until Raven decided he wanted to go out on his journey. While he certainly enjoys growing stronger and overcoming challenges, he journeys more so for the adventure and for the opportunity to complete his PokeDex. He's gathered all the badges of Johto and Kanto, and made it through the Elite Four. While he managed to beat the champion, all he accepted was the proof of him doing so - a small star on his trainer card. He kept the fact that he won hushed, disliking he idea of all the attention. He instead continues traveling, and plans to eventually gather more badges.
