Some of the Pokemon games really had a good plot. So, from which game you would like a sequel (attention: not a remake, a sequel). I personally would like to revisit Sinnoh. You?

I would love to revisit Sinnoh. I would also like to go back to Hoenn. I think a Kanto sequel would be good too. Instead of like GSC and HGSS where you start in Johto, you start in Kanto and then go to Johto.

Kanto. So we can see what caused the events in GSC.

Wasn't that basically what FRLG did? On top of the standard Gen. I plot, the Sevii Islands sidequest helped to bridge the gap.

Personally, I'd like to see a Hoenn sequel. It'd be great to see how that region changes (perhaps Brendan and May take after their parents, and become the Petalburg Gym Leader and regional Professor?). Personally, though, I think at least one other region would need to be included to keep the game fresh. GS/HGSS did that by introducing Johto in addition to revamping Kanto, so I think a RSE sequel would either need to include whichever region borders Hoenn, or many of the other Japanese regions, making it a sequel to even more games.

I agree, except with no Johto so you could just focus on Kanto.

FrLg were not sequels they were remakes. They had nothing to do with what happened between RGBY and GSC besides mentioning Silver as Giovanni's son. FRLG took place at the exact same time as RGBY.

I see what you mean, but the Sevii Isles plot is between the Kanto of Gen I and Johto of Gen II.

WARNING: this following is nerdy:
the Sevii Isles plot IS like a sequel to the Kanto games, as it takes place after you are Champion (minus the VERY beginning).
Now, I will compare it to Star Wars. The Sevii Isles plot is like Star Wars Ep 2 the Clone Wars, where you see the beginnings of the Clone War (in this case Team Rocket's return being the Clone War). HGSS will be Star Wars Ep 3 the Revenge of the Sith where we see the end of the Clone War. What YOU want would be the Pokemon equivalent of the Star Wars Clone Wars cartoon, which is between the Sevii Isles and HGSS, and takes up most (probably around 70-80%) of the 'in-between' Kanto and Johto, where you would see a lot more into Team Rocket between Sevii and Johto.

Does this sound about right

I think that Unova has so much potential for a sequel, it'd be a shame to waste it.

Yeah, something like that. I can just picture a region to the north or east for a sequel.

It did more than that. For one, it showed how the remnants of the Team Rocket Sevii Branch regrouped as the Johto branch and went to find Giovanni. And new NPC dialogue (especially that recorded in the Fame Checker) teased changes between Gen I and II, such as a dialogue with Janine (unfortunately, mistranslated as "Charine") outside the Safari Zone. And you could visit Lorelei's home in the Sevii Islands, partially explaining where she had been in the Gen II games.

What, other than that, do you want to bridge the gap? I don't think the construction of the Magnet Train, or the closing of the Safari Zone, or even the eruption of the Cinnabar Volcano is enough to warrant a game of its own. There's no need for an interquel to include these events if we already know the outcome.

Safari Zone was explained in HgSs, as Baoba basically moved to bigger land. There really isn't much of an adventure to be had for "Hey Koga, you're good, so let's make you Elite 4" and the Magnet train is basically technology moving forward.

The eruption, unless it wasn't caused by natural causes hardly warrants a new game for it, especially when it could be offhandedly mentioned in a future game.

I'd much rather have a sequel to Emerald rather than an RSEmake. It would be cool to make it for the WiiU.
