Pokémon game with your favorite story

Black/White, I liked Ghetsis' plan, even if it was convoluted. I also quite like the storylines in Platinum and Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire.

you can probably fit any pokemon mystery dungeon game in here and it'd likely rank high up on my favourites, story-wise. there's something about being a pokemon yourself, saving the world, and at the end of all of that, and having a very tearful parting with your partner pokemon as they (depending on the version)r refuse to accept that it's time for you to go.. for me personally, it's very tough for any of the main series games to compete with a narrative like that.

that is, until scarlet/violet

people can dunk on s/v for the glitches or whatever (personally, i've experienced little to none of those), but that's irrelevant compared to the story, for me, which to me, felt much, much grander than any pokemon game before it. it's a bit hard to explain, but i really did enjoy exploring area zero, how paradox pokemon game to be, miraidon/koraidon's background, professor turo/sada battle... all of it manages to come together to create such an exhilarating experience that i didn't think i really felt with any other main series game.

B/W had my favorite plot, though mostly with regards to Team Plasma. R/S/E and the Hoenn remakes had pretty interesting plots too. S/V would be my third pick since I really enjoyed the Area Zero stuff.

R/S/E definitely for the Kyogre and Groudon conflict because I have played them so many times, GSC for the whole storyline (I loved Team Rocket's revival), and oh, Pokemon Colosseum! The entire Shadow Pokemon arc has got to be one of the grittiest Pokemon stories. Definitely up there in my favorites.
