Welcome to the Pokémon Gaming Discussion section!

Here you can talk about everything related to the Pokémon video games.

Subsections
Please note that some subjects have their own (sub)section where they can be discussed:

Topics For Outside Sections
There's also a couple topics in relation to Pokémon Video Games that are discussed in other sections of the forums:
  • FANGAMES - Threads involving fan-made Pokémon games are to go in The Arcade forum section. Threads involving in-development discussion of your or a related party's fangame are to go in the BulbaBlogs forum section.
  • PLAYTHROUGHS AND TRAVELOGS - Threads involving playthroughs or travelogs are to go in the BulbaBlogs forum section.

Rules!

1. Please follow all forumwide Bulbagarden Rules.

2. Do not ask for or advertise illegal content (either public or via PM).
  • This includes ROMs, emulators and fan-made games. They can be discussed, but not linked to.
  • Don't discuss or name groups, websites or services that provide illegal content.
  • Posting short excerpts (magazine scans of a few pages, short anime clips, etc.) is allowed.
3. Discuss (potential) leaks, spoilers and questions in the designated threads and sections.
  • Feel free to create threads discussing individual spoilers, leaks, or rumors. In which case, use the "Spoilers" prefix. If the spoilers/leaks include notable story elements, use the "Story Spoilers" prefix instead.

Leak and Rumor Guidelines
Singular megathreads for leaks and rumors, like the Future Pokémon Games Leaks and Rumors Thread, have been retired and can now be discussed in multiple individual threads made for specific leaks. If you want to go in-depth regarding leaked content, we encourage you to make threads about them! However we have a couple specific guidelines when discussing them that we'd like to document here:
  • Please use the “Spoiler” prefix when discussing leaks/rumors and “Story Spoilers” when discussing leaks/rumors that go into the plot elements. This is out of respect for those who want to play the games without being spoiled.
  • Do not directly upload files, images etc. featured in leaks to our servers. This is to avoid any possible issues from The Pokémon Company. Secondary sources like news articles, social media posts, videos etc. that feature the images/files are perfectly fine. Basically anything that doesn't put our servers at risk.
  • Don't post links to 4Chan. Given the nature of the site, it's not something we want easily accessible here. Feel free to use screenshots of 4chan posts assuming there's nothing inappropriate and there's no visible urls.
  • Avoid discussion and drama about leakers and fandom members as individuals. Now, it's perfectly fine to bring them up as the source of a rumor, but bringing attention to their tactics, personality, views etc. detracts from the initial intended discussion of the rumors and can devolve into its own drama in the thread.

Site-Wide Spoiler Guidelines For New Game Releases

To make sure everyone has a fairly spoiler-free experience and ample to time to fully enjoy the latest Pokémon games with that luxury, we have a couple temporary guidelines in place for spoiler discussion within sitewide posts and profile content like avatars, signatures, etc.:
  • Upon reveal, anything officially announced before release is fair game to be posted about site-wide/used in profile content immediately. If TPC has announced it already, it's complete fair game, so don't be afraid to discuss the newly announced character site-wide or make your avatar the latest revealed Pokémon.
  • For the first 3 weeks of release, anything unrevealed up to the game's release must be put within a labeled spoiler tab when discussed outside of the dedicated section. Use on profile content is limited and dependent if they can be spoiler tabbed. Signatures should be fine if they use specifically an inline spoiler that is labeled nearby (no collapsable spoiler tags, per our signature rules). Meanwhile with the lack of a spoiler toggle on them, avatars and banners of this unannounced content should be held off on for these first 3 weeks.
  • After 3 weeks of release, everything is fair game with in all sections and on profile content, no spoiler disclaimers required!
Please note that subforums focused on the new game releases in question may have further varied guidelines on top of the above, so resort to them when applicable.
