What do you think the genders of the pokemon in the anime are? Here's my list:
Ash:
Naetoru: Male
Aipom: Female
Pikachu: Male (this is confirmed since Pikachu doesn't have split tail)
Mukkubird: Male

Hikari:
Pochama: Male
Mimiroru: Female (confirmed since it likes pikachu who is a male)
Pachirisu: Male

Brock:
Sudowoodo: Male
Gregguru: Male

Shinji:
Hikozaru: Male
Elekid: Male
Ursaring: Male

James:
Masukippa: Male
Mime Jr.: Male
Cacnea: Male

Jessie:
Seviper: Female
Dustox: Female
Wobbufet: Male

I agree with all of them except Cacnea and Mime Jr. being Males. I can see Cacnea being Female cause of the constant hugging, and I heard somewhere it was confirmed that Mime Jr. was a female. I also don't think Jesse's Seviper is a Female. That's all, I agree with everything else. :D

Well I think James's original Victreebel was a girl and his second one was a guy. My reason is this: James's first Victreebel kept on trying to eat James as a sign of affection. The second Victreebel that James obtained in "Here's Looking at You, Elekid" attempted chomp down on Jessie. Jessie tossed the second one away. When the two Victreebel met, they fell in love with each other. Both Victreebel had to be opposite genders. I figured (actually a friend of mine did) that that the first Victreebel was female and the second was male.

Mime Jr.'s a girl, I believe it was confirmed in the "Queen Mime Jr." episode, along with Sudowoodo being a boy.

Also, I think Seviper's a guy.

Aside from that, it fits I think.

I'd... rather not talk about it. I'll just say I have a very hard time seeing ANY of James' Pokemon as males. Except for, like, the Weepinbell he had for three seconds which then evolved into Victreebel and eloped with his original Victreebel. Otherwise? No.

Mime Jr doesn't have to be a girl... He just pretended to be one, besides what if he evolves... lole... (Hopefully he doesn't)

Gender differences have not been made evident in the anime as of yet. No telling if they will, either. This is a topic that is the center of a humongous debate. Theories of tomboyish pokes and girly male pokes are abound. I can say nothing but beware of those that ship pokemon with anything.

Well, I don't exactly care about Pokemon genders. There are some Pokemon I want Female, and some I want Male, and some Pokemon I am glad they have absolutely no gender.

They're all of ambiguous gender unless the writers have felt a special need to reveal it, (such as in the case of Misty and Daisy's Luvdiscs.)
Pikachu: Male (this is confirmed since Pikachu doesn't have split tail)
Pikachu probably is male, but that's the weakest argument for it.

I'm trying to think of Pokemon that have absolutely had their gender confirmed: Aipom, Bonsly, Mime Jr., Charizard, Tracey's Marril . . .

Ash and May's Bulbasaur are male and female respectively.

Less sure about May's Squirtle though.

Mind you tell me which episodes confirmed genders for Marill, Bonsly and Mime Jr.?

Again, where you seen a confirmation about both Bulbasar's gender?

Tracey's Marill laid the egg that produced Misty's Azurill.

The Bonsly and Mime Jr. that belonged to the film crew in King and Queen for a day are probably the gender of their characters but that's no confirmation for the regular ones. See: the old guy in the Mime Jr. suit.

The genders of the Bulbasaurs are sterotyped.

Again, where you seen a confirmation about both Bulbasar's gender?

May's Bulbasaur has a higher voice than Ash's in the Japanese version, it has hearts on its head, and it generally acts more girly. Ash's Bulbasaur has always thrown out lots of testosterone.

Add that along with the fact that the two Bulbasaur seemed to have a thing for each other in the Pallet Town ep, and that's about as obvious as its going to get. It may not be as obvious as Mimirol's crush on Pikachu, but there was still stuff pointing toward it.

As for May's Blaziken...it's pretty obvious that this one's a male. It's definitely got longer "head feathers."

Tracey's Marill laid the egg that produced Misty's Azurill.

And that brings up the all important question: WHO'S THE DADDY? Is it Ash's Squirtle or is it his Kingler? Or it could be one of Misty's pokémon as well.

It can't be Squirtle since they haven't been in contact since Tracey left the cast. The popular opinion when Azurill first appeared in Japan was Psyduck, purely for comedic value.

May's Skitty is obviously female, Meowth had a huge crush on it before May caught it.

Bayleef is a girl, again, for obvious reasons.

Munchlax had to be male, no question.

Oh, I forgot that.

Yeh, that's true. I think Zeta wrote 'bout regular one.

That make sense.

I'd say it's her Corsola. It learns Refresh by level, Azurill by Egg. If Tracey's Marill is the female, all it needs to do is hold the Sea Incense and out will come an Azurill.

Not to mention May herself pictured it evolving into a big, manly Torchic with giant pecs.
