I would give you an introduction, but that would give away the plot, so here is the story, straight out of the oven!

This story has been rated TEEN for mild language, peril and general all-round chaos.

Chapter One: Journey Genesis
“Every journey has a first step. But sometimes taking that step isn’t as easy as you’d expect…”

Location: Primita Town
Date: 15/3/11, 13:56

Kai half-heartedly trekked toward Professor Hazel’s laboratory. He and his family had bid each other a distressing farewell. Kai was slightly reassured by the fact that he could visit home at anytime. He pulled himself together. He was going to become a Trainer. He was going to become really powerful and complete the new T.O.R.E Pokédex. The T.O.R.E Pokédex was the latest model. Its name stood for Tanoh Official Registration Encyclopedia. There were five others, the K.O.R.E., the J.O.R.E., the H.O.R.E., the S.O.R.E. and the U.O.R.E. Altogether; they made the P-C.O.R.E., the Pokémon Completed Official Registration Encyclopedia. Kai sighed. This wasn’t a time to be lecturing himself on the Tanoh Official… Oh, forget it. He had reached Hazel Pokémon Laboratories anyway. The building was a big concrete structure on the top of Primita Hill. It had a bulkhead metal door and a few windows. Kai was about to knock when the door slid open. He stepped in nervously. This wasn’t exactly welcoming. Without warning, the entrance slammed shut, leaving the boy alone in the dark. Kai was completely silent. He didn’t speak. He didn’t move. After a few seconds of intimidating darkness a few bright lights flickered on, lighting up the whole room. The room actually wasn’t frightening at all. It was very casual. There were more windows than appeared outside, and they were bigger too. “Hello?” Kai asked. No answer came. “Hello?” Kai asked, louder this time. He noticed there was a red button on the table labelled ‘Attention’. “Hm. That was easy.” Kai pressed the button. For a moment nothing happened. Then there was a blast and a door opened, smoke pouring out of it. A teenage girl in a lab coat stumbled out of the smoke, coughing and wheezing, her face black with grime. Kai rushed to her aid.

After the girl had recovered, she sat down. “Are you okay?” Kai asked.
“Well,” said the girl, “despite the fact some kid triggered an electric circuit and blew up the generator that I was trying to fix and had my head inside, I’m doing pretty good.” 'Oooops. Well, I got attention.' The lights began to flicker. “Generator?” Kai asked.
“Yeah,” said the girl, “There’s a compact one over there… I’d best—”
“Hey, you just got blown up. I’ll do it.” Kai walked towards the generator.
“Are you sure?” asked the girl as Kai began pushing buttons.
“Absolutely. Just relax, I’ve got this.” The lights flicked on. “See?” Kai smiled. Then all of the light bulbs shattered. “Or not. Or not.”
“Blinds,” sighed the girl. With a great deal of force, the two opened all of the blinds, lighting up the room. “Well then,” wheezed Kai, “I think we’re done. Bye.”
“Now hang on a minute,” cried out the girl as Kai turned to leave the building, “Because I want to know why you came here in the first place.” 'Shoot.' Without even looking back, Kai replied, “I was leaving. I was going to speak with Professor Hazel, but seeing as she isn’t here…” 'She should be here, but in that racket, she didn’t come, so she can’t be here. Unless…' “I am Professor Hazel,” said the girl. Kai spun around. “Then that is an entirely different matter altogether. I am here for my starter Pokémon. I’m Kai.”
“Kai? Weren’t you coming Wednesday?”
“Uh-huh. I thought so too. Then I woke up this morning and surprise, surprise, it’s Wednesday.”
“Oh. I’ll get the starters!” Hazel rushed out of the room, and came back a few seconds later with eight Poké Balls. She took three and said, “There’s the Grass-type Earth Turtle, Turftle,” she threw a Poké Ball into the air, and out popped a green turtle-like Pokémon with a shell made of hexagons. It seemed calm and confident, with a gentle smile on its face. “Turftle,” it said.
“Hi,” replied Kai.
“Or you could have the Fire-type Fire Cannon Pokémon, Burna,” said Hazel, tossing another Ball. Out came a Bunsen Burner-like monster, squealing, “Burrrnaaah!”
“And last but not least, the Bubble Frog, Fribbit!” A small, blue reptilian Pokémon appeared. It looked at Kai curiously. “Fribbit.”
“Hey,” Kai replied.
“Take your pick,” encouraged Professor Hazel. Kai pondered. 'Turftle is the calmer one. Burna is energetic like heck knows what, and Fribbit is intent on knowing stuff. I’m not sure…' He decided after a while. “I choose--” There was a blast, and a silvery Pokémon bounded into the room through a hole in the wall, muttering, “Alph, Alph, Alph… Alphia!” It had blue crystals spiking on its back and head, and a large glowing one on the tip of its tail. A boy hurried into the lab after it.

Kai, raising his hand a little, said, “Um, I’m just checking, but, you do know that there is a door, like, right there, right?” Hazel was a little angrier. “Hades! What did I tell you about blowing holes in walls?!” As the boy responded, he seemed to mimic Professor Hazel’s voice perfectly: “'Hades, don’t blow up walls, they’re there for a reason.’” The next was the voice of a nine year old, except deeper than one would expect: “’What if they’re already breaking?’ ‘…Fine. But only if no one uses them.’ ‘Like building walls?’ ‘No!’ ‘Even if there’s no one in them?’” The next voice from a new person, a strict tone of a fifteen year old male: “’Hades, that’s enough. You heard, no blowing holes in walls.’ ‘Aww.’” Then the boy spoke the voice of himself, eleven and surprisingly deep. “Satisfied?” It was harsher and sharper, as if the boy had gotten… meaner, and it turned Ts into unstressed Ds. “Anyway, it was that.” As he said this, the boy pointed at the silver Pokémon, who was now hiding behind Kai. Now, the issue with Kai was he could easily switch moods. It only took the tiniest thing, and in this case, it was just a single word. “That? That?! That,” he roared, “is a living being! And he is incredibly frightened of you! So just leave him alone!”
“How would you know about Pokémon?! You aren’t even a Trainer!” the boy cried out in response.
“He’s right, you know.” Hazel commented.
“You don’t hear it, do you? Either of you. No one hears it, no one ever hears it.” Kai complained. The next statement was completely startling. “I hear it,” Hades answered, the anger drained from his voice.
“Hear what?” questioned Hazel.
“The voices of the Pokémon,” Kai answered, “and the voice of this Pokémon says that he doesn’t want to travel beside a heartless Trainer! Fun fact: Professor Oak coined the term ‘Trainer’ in 1996 to describe his grandson, Blue.”
“Enough,” growled the boy, “Omegian, finish this!” A Pokémon almost identical to the silvery one behind Kai appeared from behind him. It was black, with red crystals on its head and back, and a larger one was on the tip of its tail, just like the other. “Omegi,” Omegian growled. Kai outstretched his arms. He was not going to let this bully push the poor Pokémon around, or him for that matter.

Unfortunately, this is practically exactly what happened. As Omegian approached Kai, it leapt, bounced off of his side, knocking him into the table with the Poké Balls and starter Pokémon on, and landed flat on its feet, all without batting an eyelid. "Now, where were we, Alphian?" Omegian growled at the silvery Pokémon.
"I won't join you," came the reply, "I'm too good at protaganism to be evil."
"Is that so?"
"Yeah."
"Then perhaps you'll consider it now. Join us or the boy dies."
"Which one?"
"The unconscious one, leaned neatly on that metal table over there."
"Oh. That changes things."
"You'd think so."
"One more thing."
"What is it?!"
"Your left." The Pokémon replied, and Omegian looked right. The Pokémon smiled. "Your other left."
"What the-?!" A harsh Bubblebeam attack struck Omegian, sending him flying. "Oh, yeah," Burna cried happily, "That's ten-nil to us, O-Not-So-Megian! That'll learn him!"
"That doesn't make any sense," Turftle told him.
"It doesn't? Never mind – It's my turn! Let's try Ember! Boom! Boom boom boom!"
"Uh... Burna?" Fribbit asked.
"What?"
"You aren't shooting."
"Huh? Oh, right," Burna realized, switching on his cannons. Omegian got to his feet, only to find some fireballs soaring right at him.
"Oh, boy." Omegian hit the wall with a thump. 'Ouuch…' thought Kai, who was coming to his senses, 'Omegian is having a really bad day.' All four Pokémon were launching attacks at each other now, and Kai spotted an out cold Professor Hazel. 'Knocked out in the crossfire. Typical.' But he noticed something else too. Hades was rapidly approaching the silver Pokémon, with a black Poké Ball in his hand, ready to throw. Kai had to act fast. He reached for a Poké Ball… “Now,” smiled Hades maliciously, “say hello to your new owner, Alphian.” Out of the corner of his eye, Alphian spotted something headed in his direction at a high speed. He realized what was happening, smiled, looked at Kai and said, "Hello." Hades was baffled, and before he knew what was happening, a Poké Ball had bounced off Alphian, pulled him in, and flew through the air at exactly the right angle to land neatly in Kai’s hands. “Sorry,” Kai told Hades jubilantly, “but Alpha belongs to me now. And for the record, you just lost a Pokémon to Kai, the rookie. You got owned!” Hades, on the other hand, was infuriated. “Well, Kai, I can guarantee that we will meet again, and when we do…” And in a column of darkness, Hades vanished.
“…Jeez. Talk about overdramatic.” Kai muttered.

Professor Hazel found herself looking up at Kai and an Alphian. “Hiya, Professor!” Kai grinned. “Hades?” asked Hazel.
“I think he ran away. Hard to be sure, he just sort of… disappeared.”
“No, he misappeared, teleported. He does that.”
“You seem to know him well,” Kai commented as he helped Hazel to her feet.
“He’s my son.”
“You’re…what, six, seventeen?”
“Seventeen. Project Hades was an experiment, to test our genetic engineering. The machine spawned a child of eight years.”
“Three years ago,” Kai confirmed.
“Yes. Last year, something happened. The blonde, green-eyed boy we knew just came home different one day, with new abilities, a different personality, and--”
“Orange eyes and streaks around the edges of his hair, right?”
“And a strange new hairstyle… Moving on, did you pick?” asked Hazel.
“Yup, I choose…” Kai began. Turftle, Burna and Fribbit all stared at Kai in anticipation. “…Fribbit.” Fribbit’s eyes lit up intensely as he tried to hold the excitement in, while Turftle and Burna were clearly happy for their friend. Professor Hazel passed Kai Fribbit’s Poké Ball. “Okay, Bubbles, from here on in we’re partners!”
“Frib frib Fribbit!”
"No, it is not."
“By the way,” said Hazel, “what’s the Alphian still doing here?”
“I caught him to save him from Hades.”
“Hmm. Impractical, but evidently effective,” decided Hazel as she passed Kai his remaining four Poké Balls, “Good luck on your journey.”
“Thanks!” cried Kai, walking out of the laboratory door. “Bubbles, return.” A red beam shot out of Bubbles’ Poké Ball and hit him. It absorbed him, and leapt back into the Ball. From the view on the hill, Kai quickly managed to find where Primitia Town split off into Route 17. “Off we go, Alpha!”
"Yeah! Adventure! Woo! Yay! Adventure! Yeah!"
“Okay, okay, I get it.”
"Sorry, sir," Alpha apologised.
“I’m not ‘sir’.”
"Oh. Would you be more comfortable with ‘master’?"
“Shut up!” cried out Kai, attempting to hold his laughter in, “I’m just Kai, okay?”
"Okay, boss."
“Okay, now I mean it.”
"Okay, Kai," Alpha apologised again, "I was just trying to respect the chain of command."
“In my chain of command, everyone’s equal. No one is anyone else’s leader. Now come on!”
"I thought no one was anyone else's boss?"
“It’s just a friendly suggestion.”
"Oh. Okay!" smiled Alpha, and the two headed for Route 17. As they walked, Kai felt something bouncing around in his pocket. 'That’s weird, I don’t remember putting anything in there.' He pulled it out. It was a glass red cube with metal framing and a light inside it. Okay, double weird. And then it burst into flames. “Aagh!” Kai screamed as he dropped the blazing object in surprise, but it never hit the ground. Instead, it levitated up to him. “Uh… hi? Don’t suppose you want a biscuit, do you?” The fireball shot forward and blasted Kai, knocking him to the floor. “Ouch…” He suddenly saw something he did not think was supposed to be there. It wasn’t supposed to be there, but nevertheless it was there, which posed a problem. The cube had hit Kai and turned into a watch. “Calibrating T.O.R.E. Pokédex. Please hold still,” the watch said.
“Ooh, speaking clock.”
“Calibration complete. Please verify you own the T.O.R.E. Pokédex by entering your name verbally.”
“Kai…”
“Playback: Kai. A message is stored in the hard drive, but is programmed for single playback only. Do you wish to proceed to play the message?”
“Uh… okay.”
“Playing… ‘Here is your Pokédex. It has data on every Pokémon native to Tanoh. From Professor Hazel.’.” the Pokédex said. Kai decided to test the function, partly because he wanted to know what kind of Pokémon Alphian was, partly because he was inquisitive to the point of nosiness. He decided what kind of command would be needed to scan Alpha, then said, “Pokédex, initiate scan, then search archives for biological species match and define.”
“This command appears to be longer than four words. Would you like to register a phrase to activate this command in future?”
“All right, why not?”
“Which phrase would you like to register?”
“Um… I’ve got it! Register ‘initiate bioscan’.”
“Registered successfully. Initiating bioscan.” A scan beam of green light covered Alpha, then returned to the Pokédex. “Number 25, Alphian, Alpha Dragon Pokémon. Alphian, or Arufdraca, is a Dragon-type Pokémon native to the Tanoh Region. It is not known to evolve to or from any other Pokémon, though it seems to be related to Etian and Omegian. It has a diet composed of mainly Sitrus Berries. It has a playful nature, yet it is hard working and will help any person or Pokémon it thinks is in need of it.”
“Cool. Okay, Pokédex, deactivate.” Kai commanded, and the Pokédex made a low beeping sound before turning off. “Okay, Alpha. Let’s keep moving.”
"You got it, boss!"
“For the last time…!”

Chapter Two: The Beginning Of The End
“The coming of Hades was a sign. The world is ending, and we’d all better be ready when it does…”

Location: Tincid Town, a town at the end of Route 17
Date: 15/3/11, 15:23

“Hello, miss. What can I do for you today?” asked the Poké Mart shopkeeper. Poké Marts were small shops based inside Pokémon Centers. Everything a Trainer would need would be available in a Poké Mart. “I’d like 5 Potions, please,” replied Summer.
“Coming right up,” replied the shopkeeper, “Huh? Uh… we appear to have no Potions left in stock. I’ll just go into the warehouse and get some more.” The shopkeeper opened a door in the wall and walked through it. Summer waited a few seconds for the shopkeeper to come back, but all that returned was the sound of a scream. Startled, Summer leapt over the counter and rushed into the dark warehouse, looking for the shopkeeper. “Hello?” she cried out, but the only sound was her echo. Another scream. Summer followed the noise, trying to figure out what was happening. “Zo zo!” cried Zorua, who was running along beside her.
“Don’t worry, Zorua,” Summer told her reassuringly, “We’ll figure out what’s happening.”
“Zoru! Zor Zorua zoru!” Zorua barked out, running toward a wall. She had found the shopkeeper unconscious, leaned against the wall.
“Great job, Zorua!” Summer praised, scratching behind Zorua’s ear. She always loved that. Summer began to shake the shopkeeper. “Sir. Sir, wake up!” she cried. Something began to creep up on her. It was getting closer and closer. Summer heard something growl. She span around. A Pokémon that looked like a black dog had its huge gold claws outstretched, its white teeth bared and its eyes drilling into her skull.
“Grrendog! Grrrrrengren Grendog!” it barked out. Summer backed up against the wall, terrified. Something grabbed her hand. She turned her head to see what it was. A boy with spiked brunette hair was standing next to Summer, gripping her hand and grinning madly. “Hi. Run for your life.” And they did. They ran as fast as they could. For some reason, when they did, Summer felt overwhelmed with in explicable joy. The boy, on the other hand, was laughing like a wild thing.
“What is it?” Summer asked.
“I haven’t run like this in forever!” the boy laughed hysterically in reply, “Come on! I think there’s a lift up ahead!” Summer glanced back. The Pokémon was still pounding after them. The boy turned and pulled Summer into a lift, and as a green light fired from the boy’s watch on to the lift doors, and they slammed shut just as the Pokémon leapt for the two. “Alph,” sighed the Pokémon that was following the boy in relief. Summer was curious.
“Who are you?” she asked the boy.
“I’m Kai,” the boy replied, “And you?”
“Summer,” she introduced herself. The doors opened.

On the roof, Ben dodged the tentacles of the strange red Pokémon. It was stretching them and trying to hit him with them, under the command of some boy with a weird hairstyle. What is that kid’s problem? “What the heck do you think you’re doing?!” yelled Ben, leaping over a speeding limb.
“Eliminating the possibility of an allied force against me,” the boy smiled, “The girl should be in the warehouse by now and will have already been exterminated by my Grendog. You only use force, and therefore shall be eradicated by it. The next target I will have to destroy myself as well. He escaped me the first time, but he will be stopped as well. He has merely delayed my plans. I’ll use a legendary Pokémon if I have to, but he will be defeated.”
“Good luck with that.” Hades span around. Kai was right there, with Summer and Alpha at his sides.
“You!” Hades roared.
“Me!” Kai cried out in response, “Now tell me, I believe, and please tell me if I’m right, is that Deoxys?” Deoxys span around, its eyes glowing in a blazing red light. “I thought so. Now, if you will be so kind, Hades, tell me why you are attacking this poor boy here, because, I don’t think he deserves anything of the sort, and while you’re at it, someone put the kettle on, I’m dead thirsty.”
“I’m going to kill him, and that girl, and you.”
“Great plan, but one big problem.”
“What’s that?” Hades asked, “I’m curious to know this fatal flaw in my plan so I can fix it.” Kai just smiled.
“I’m Kai Opulens,” he said, “And I don’t think you can fix that.” Hades was livid at Kai’s self-confidence. “Deoxys, kill him!”
“Sorry,” grinned Kai, stepping out the way of the bounding Deoxys. It hit the lift wall, and Kai turned to face it as it tried to stand up again. “Adios,” said Kai, remotely shutting the doors with his Pokédex and trying not to laugh. Deoxys began to bang on the sealed doors, despite the fact that there was an ‘Open Doors’ button on the control pad, only adding to the comedic effect. Hades was not smiling, though. Tossing a black Poké Ball, he screamed at the top of his lungs, “Omegian, finish them now!” Omegian appeared.
“Omegian!” it cried.
“I will destroy you, here and now,” Hades began to shout, “And I will continue with my master plan! No one shall stop me, not the authorities, not you, no one!”
There was silence for a moment, and then Kai said, “You know, half the people in this town heard that. That includes, you guessed it, the police. Good luck getting out of here in time.” Hades just smiled.
“You’re forgetting what I can do,” he said, and in a column of darkness, he vanished. 'Ah, damn it. This is not going to look good.' “Let’s get outta here!” Kai cried, diving off the roof. Summer and Ben leapt after him. As they landed on the pavement, Summer shouted to Kai, “You’re insane!”
“That’s controversial,” Kai replied happily.

Later, in the Pokémon Center, the three and their Pokémon sat at a table. “I believe proper introductions are in order,” Kai said, “My name’s Kai. I became a Trainer earlier today.” Alpha leapt onto the table. “And this is my partner Alpha,” Kai finished.
“Alphi, alphia,” added Alpha.
“He says it’s nice to meet you,” explained Kai.
“You understand that?” Summer asked.
“Someone had to figure it out eventually.”
“My name’s Ben,” Ben began, “I started my journey at the same time as Summer here. This is my partner, Turftle. Come out.” Ben opened a Poké Ball and out popped a Turftle.
“Turf.”
“Nice to meet you, too,” nodded Kai, “What about you, Summer?”
“I have a Zorua from when I went to Unova on holiday,” Summer explained, “Come up here, Zorua.” Zorua leapt onto the table.
“Zozoru.”
“And you,” Kai replied.
“Alphia, Alphian alph?” Alpha asked.
“No, I don’t. Shut up,” replied Kai.
“Alphi?”
“Go ahead.”
“Alph, alphia,” said Alpha.
“Alpha would like to play with Zorua and Turftle asks if it’s okay with you two,” translated Kai.
“Of course, Alpha,” smiled Summer.
“Alright,” granted Ben. Kai asked where the three were going to play, and they were planning to go outside. He opened the doors of the Pokémon Center for them and they ran off into the street. Summer yawned.
“You alright?” asked Ben.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” Summer said, rubbing her eyes, “Just been a long day, that’s all.” Kai checked his Pokédex.
“And it’s only seven o’clock!” he exclaimed, “Let’s let the Pokémon play for a few more minutes, and then let’s go to bed.”

Alpha, Zorua and Turftle were playing in the street. Alpha was running away from Zorua and some more Pokémon. Everywhere there were shouts of ‘Can't catch me!’ and ‘Oh, yes I can!’ All of a sudden, Alpha stopped dead on the pavement.
"Alpha?" Zorua was puzzled. What was he doing? "Alpha?"
"Huh?" Alpha replied, obviously deeply disturbed.
"Are you okay? What happened?"
"I… I don't know. Somewhere it just felt like something… moved or something," Alpha explained, with a touch of unease in his voice.
"Well, do you want to keep playing?" Turftle asked, catching up with them.
"Actually, I just want to go to bed now. That was weird," Alpha answered.

That night, Kai was still awake late. “Hey, Alpha, are you still awake?” he asked.
"Uh?" The Alpha Dragon replied groggily.
“I think we’re all going to become great partners one day.”
"Why are you on a bed with another bed on top of it? What if it falls?" Alpha simply asked.
“Bunk beds are cool,” Kai protested, “A bed, with a ladder? Could you possibly get a cooler bed than that?”
"All this talk of beds is making me sleepy," Alpha yawned.
“Get some rest, Alpha;” Kai said soothingly, “We’re up early in the morning.” But Alpha was already softly purring, fast asleep. Kai smiled. He knew the three were going to become incredibly powerful Trainers. What he did not know was that they had their biggest challenge rapidly approaching. What Alpha had felt was something moving. In their eternal slumber, the legendary Pokémon had stirred. Judgement Day was nearing.
To be continued...

So, what do you think? If you like it, I'll keep writing, so please be honest. I don't judge.

Chapter Three: Awake
"The legendary Pokémon have awoken. Now we'll see some real fireworks..."

Location: Tincid Town Pokémon Center
Date: 16/3/11, 7:34

"Wake up!" Ben almost fell out of bed when Summer shouted this.
"Uh..." he groaned, "What time is it?"
"Half seven in the morning," Summer replied innocently.
"Seriously?"
"It's the principle," answered Summer.
"If you say so," yawned Ben, clambering down the ladder, "Where's Kai and Alpha?" he asked, realizing quickly that they weren't there.
"Dunno. I woke up and they weren't here."
"You think they went outside?"
"I searched around inside, so unless they've vanished off the face the face of the planet..." Summer said, like this was the stupidest question ever in the history of the world.
"Okay, jeez. I didn't know that, I was asleep," Ben shrugged.
"Alright, good point," Summer admitted, "Come on, let's go find him. How far would he have gone, anyway?"

"That's it, Alpha, you're doing it! Keep going!" Kai cried.
"I can't do it," whined Alpha. Kai was trying to teach Alpha Dragonbreath. He had found many large rocks and was trying to help Alpha build his attack to the point where he could blow one to smithereens.
"You're doing great," Kai smiled, "You just need to practice. Try again, see if you can do it. Concentrate. Use Dragonbreath!" A small blue orb began to form inside Alpha's open mouth, getting bigger and bigger, until a glowing blue beam burst out and struck the boulder, tearing it into tiny fragments. When the smoke cleared, the first thing Kai noticed was Alpha's triumphant grin.
"I did it!" Alpha cried, "I did it, I did it, I did it!"
"Great job, Alpha!" Kai exclaimed, his voice drenched in pride. Alpha had done it. He had learned Dragonbreath. "So what do you know now?" asked Kai.
"Um..." Alpha thought for a moment, then replied, "Dragonbreath, Tackle, and Growl." He used Growl to demonstrate. "Hrrrr!"
"Can I see your Tackle?" asked Kai, intrigued.
"Okay!" Alpha smiled. He focused on one boulder, and at an awe-inspiring speed, charged at the rock, then leapt and destroyed it in one extremely destructive, side-on collision. "I can do head-ons too! Watch!" At the same insane speed, Alpha rushed at another stone, obliterating it in a single strike.
'I wonder how he's so fast...' Kai asked himself. As if it could read his thoughts, the Pokédex said, "Alphian's greatest attributes are its speed and the strength of its moves."
"I didn't turn you on, are you broken already?" Kai asked it.
"Reprogramming is a severe warranty violation..." it replied.
"Warranty? That's new, I don't think I gave you that."
"Kai! There you are!" cried a voice. Kai turned around, and running toward him were Ben and Summer.
"Hey, guys! Did you just get up?" Kai asked.
"We've been looking for you everywhere," Summer replied, obviously very irritated.
"I did write a note... I asked Alpha to put to where you would find it easily while I found a training spot, see."
"An?" Alpha slightly tilted his head, trying to remember when he said the word 'easily'.
"Pay more attention next time!" snapped Kai.
"Alphian..."
"Anyway," Ben changed the subject before someone ended up falling out with someone else, "What's with all the bits of rock lying around?"
"Huh?" Kai said absentmindedly, looked around, "Oh, that's just some wreckage from Alpha's training. I managed to teach him Dragonbreath!"
"Awesome!" Summer cried, "So do you want a battle?"
Kai instantly accepted the challenge. "Okay, why not? Besides, there's no practice quite like the real thing, and I heard the Pokémon Center has a battlefield!"

"Okay, this is a one-on-one battle between Kai and Summer," Ben called to the two battlers, "Battle begin!" Kai and Summer were both very sure of their Pokémon choice, and their opponent's choice too.
"Ladies first," smiled Kai, although there was a touch of merciless confidence in his tone.
"Zorua, you're up!" Summer shouted, as Zorua leapt onto the field.
"Alpha, go!" Kai told his partner. Alpha bounded onto the battlefield.
"Alright, Zorua," Summer encouraged, "We know everything they're going to do, and we have the advantage because of that. Go, use Pursuit!"
"Too late," Kai cried, "Alpha, Tackle!" Before Zorua could move, she had been rammed side-on by Alpha, and began to skid across the dusty ground.
"Use Scratch!" Zorua leapt at Alpha with outstretched claws.
"Dodge, Alpha!" Kai exclaimed. Alpha almost disappeared. Zorua and Alpha danced left and right in a frenzy, and Alpha seemed to be enjoying it, whilst Zorua was becoming increasingly annoyed. This seemed to almost perfectly mirror their Trainer's emotions; Kai was laughing hysterically and Summer was being angry quietly. "Now use Tackle!" Kai commanded, and Alpha dodged a Scratch from Zorua, before rebounding with Tackle.
"Leer!"
"Counter it with Growl!" Both Pokémon were looking furious at the other. It seemed to go on for hours, but eventually, Alpha backed down.
"Now's our chance," Summer called to Zorua, "Pursuit!" Cloaked in darkness, Zorua smashed into Alpha, knocking him back, then Zorua vanished, and did it again from the side. "Yes! Now things are starting to go our way," Summer cried happily, "Use Scratch!" Alpha was beginning to take serious damage, yet Kai could do nothing but watch. He began to think hard. How could Alpha get out of this situation? 'What would Mum or Dad do...?' he thought. Then it hit him.
"Alpha! Get back!" he cried.
"Are... you crazy?!" Alpha replied in pain, "We never retreat!"
"No, I'm serious!" Kai yelled, "Take a leap back!" Alpha tried it. It worked surprisingly well. Since Zorua wasn't bipedal, and was Scratching away on her hind legs, she slipped onto the floor. "Now, Tackle!" Kai cried.
"Dodge!" Summer shouted. Alpha was fast, but Zorua's reflexes were too, and she gracefully somersaulted over a rapidly approaching Alpha, leaving him confused. "Now, Pursuit!" Summer commanded. Alpha spun around and saw Zorua's Pursuit coming up fast.
Kai thought faster than Zorua moved though, and commanded, "Quick! Use Dragonbreath!" Alpha's crystals began to glow, and he released a familiar jet of blue energy from his mouth. The attacks collided in a fierce explosion. The view of the battlefield was hazy with pitch-black smoke, but when it cleared, the two Pokémon were still standing, facing each other, however, they had obviously taken a considerable amount of damage from the explosion. Zorua managed a weak smile, and she nodded at Alpha. Alpha attempted to smile back. Content with the result of the battle, Zorua dropped to the floor, exhausted.
"Zorua is unable to battle!" Ben commentated, "Alpha is the winner, and Kai is victorious!" Zorua returned to its Poké Ball.
"You did great, Zorua. Take a long rest, okay?" Summer praised her partner. The two battlers walked to the center of the battlefield and shook hands.
"This is the second time I've taken your hand," Kai grinned, "You wouldn't think people did it so commonly. That was fun. Shall we do it again some time?"
"You bet," Summer smiled. Ben and Turftle began to run up to them, impressed at the power shown by the two Pokémon.
"That was awesome, you guys," he told them, "After Summer took the battle I honestly thought she was going to win!" Kai shrugged.
"My mum and dad were always good at making comebacks," he said.
"It was a great strategy," Summer admitted, "Obvious when you think about it carefully, but it's the kind of thing you'd think of outside the battlefield rather than in it."
"Stop it," Kai laughed, "You're making me seem like the best Trainer here!"
"He's right, Summer," Ben clenched his fist, "He needs to beat me before he earns that title!"
"Fine," Kai told him, "Prepare for a real challenge!"

"This battle, between Ben and Kai, has the same rules as the last battle. Begin!" shouted Summer.
"Alpha, go on!" Kai commanded. Ben and Summer were confused.
"Won't Alpha be tired?" asked Summer.
"Of course he will," Kai replied, "But we can handle this!"
"Okay, if you say so! Turftle, finish off this furry crystal!" Ben commanded.
"Dragonbreath!" Kai commanded, and Alpha fired his attack. Turftle wasn't as fast as Alpha, though, and Ben knew there wasn't the slightest chance of dodging, so he didn't tell Turftle to. Instead he commanded, "Turftle, use Protect!" Turftle anknowledged the order, and hid in his shell. A blue bubble appeared around the Earth Turtle, and Dragonbreath hit it instead of Turftle.
"What the... What did you do?!" Kai cried as the attack harmlessly bounced off of Turftle's shield.
"Like it?" laughed Ben, "Protect completely nullifies the opponent's attack. Have a nice time trying to get through it!" Kai glared at his opponent. "Now use Razor Leaf!" Ben ordered. The hexagons on Turftle's shell opened up, and out of them flew dozens of leaves.
"Bah!" scoffed Alpha, "You're trying to defeat us with leaves? We're wasting our time, Kai."
"Don't underestimate my biology," Turftle snapped back.
"What d'you-- aagh!" Alpha was cut off by the leaves hitting his body. They were as sharp as kitchen knives. "Ow! Ow ow ow ow ow!" Alpha began yelp.
"Tackle through it!" Kai ordered. Alpha mumbled something, then obeyed.
"Protect!" Ben responded quickly. Alpha simply bounced off of the shield, but when Turftle had finished, it looked like it had just single-handedly thrown the Titanic into the iceberg. Kai sighed. He and Alpha hadn't inflicted any damage on Turftle whatsoever yet, but Alpha's condition was rapidly worsening.
"Dragonbreath!"
"Protect!" Turftle put up his shield as Alpha fired his attack at him, but it went down as quickly as it went up. "Aah, shoot." Ben muttered. Turftle rolled along the battlefield ground, dusty and dazed.
"Whoa..." Kai marvelled, "What was that?"
"That is known as a critical hit," the Pokédex told him, "Your computer is at risk. Please renew your virus protection." Turftle didn't get up.
"Return, Turftle," Ben commanded, and Turftle disappeared into his Poké Ball. "You did well, Turftle."
"Excellent work, Alpha," Kai told his partner, "That's two victories in a row without a single heal!"
"Alph, alphia alphi!" Alpha replied. The Trainers shook hands.
"Why do we do this in the first place?" Kai asked.
"Beats me," scoffed Ben, "Looks like you're the toughest of us three." Kai nodded.
"That shouldn't stop us from getting better," Kai vowed, "Let's get on our way."

"...and then they said, 'Gimme two seconds!'" Ben finished.
"You made that same joke 200 yards ago," Summer sighed, "And it wasn't that funny then either." The trio had made some miles across Route 18, and their next stop was Shade City, the location of the first Pokémon Gym.
"Hey guys," Kai called, "Come and have a look at this! I'm not sure if it's meant to be here though..."
"What's he got this time?" Ben groaned.
"Last time it was a Pokémon, what now?" Summer muttered under her breath. The two pulled themselves toward Kai. "What is it?" Summer asked.
"Look!" Kai told them. A large dark circle was just there. There are some things that are just there, and this was one of them. It wasn't even a sphere, it was a big black circle, and it was just there, floating above the road.
"That's weird," Summer said.
"It's just there," Ben pointed out. And then suddenly, it wasn't. It just went. Two blurs, one red, one blue, rushed out of where the circle was, and then stopped moving. They were dragons, with feathers, one blue and grey, the other red and white. They spoke frantically to Kai in a strange language, then vanished in a blur again.
"Er, can you explain that to me?" Kai called into the distance. There was no reply. "Let's keep moving," Kai decided.
"What did they tell you?" asked Summer.
"I'll tell you when we get there. Come on."

Location: Shade City Pokémon Center

"They told me that the world's ending."
"They what?!" Summer and Ben cried simultaneously.
"They told me. The 'original one' is awake. He shall return to unleash His judgement on the world after what the 'necromancer' plans to do." Kai explained. Ben seemed to be in shock. Summer was angry.
"Whoever this 'necromancer' thinks he is," Summer said furiously, "when we find him, he is gonna get a piece of my mind! And this so-called 'original one' for that matter!"
"Perhaps I can examine these Pokémon," Kai's Pokédex said, "Do you have an image or description?"
"We have a verbal description, yeah," Kai replied, "They're feathered, big, one's blue and one's red... um... they had triangles on their bellies..."
"Matches found," the Pokédex interrupted, and produced some green holographic displays, "The blue Pokémon: Latios is a dual-type Dragon/Psychic legendary Pokémon. He is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon. The red one: Latias is a dual-type Dragon/Psychic legendary Pokémon. She is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon." Summer, Ben and Kai were shocked.
"Legendary Pokémon..." Summer breathed.
"What would legendaries want with us?" Ben asked. Kai wanted some questions answered.
"Pokédex, where are these two Pokémon native to?" he asked.
"Latios and Latias were believed to be native to Hoenn, but recent studies indicate that, like most Dragon-type legendary Pokémon, they reside in an alternate Universe in eternal slumber until an event occurs to awaken them."
"Like what?"
"Such as an imbalance of nature, space, time and other similar things."
"Scan for an unnatural imablance like that."
"This is not one of my features. I cannot perform that command," The Pokédex retorted. Kai hacked open the watch and produced a USB drive.
"It is now," he said as he thrust the drive into the device. As it began beeping away, Ben watched in awe.
"You know that's a warranty violation, right?" he asked.
"So it does have warranty... Wait, how do you know that?" Kai asked. Summer and Ben held up their wrists. They had Pokédexes too. "Oh."
"Spacetime imbalance found."
"Where, when and what?" Kai asked.
"...Core of the Universe. Exactly 23/12/11, 0:00. Impossible, chaotic spacetime ripple, possibly universally fatal." Kai waited for a few seconds, considering whether or not to ask the dreaded question. He decided to.
"Who?"
"Several unnatural forces, not scientifically explicable, otherwise known as gods. Ripple also emanating from Project Hades." Kai sighed.
"Is anyone working on it?" he asked. The Pokédex processed the request silently.
"...None found," it replied. Kai sighed again.
"Do I have to do everything around here?" he growled.

Looks like no one's read this thing yet, huh? Never mind. I'll keep writing until I find out no one likes the story!

Okay, it's been a while. I've got some time. I'm writing. Now.

Chapter Four: In The Dark

"Who's Jim?"

Location: Outside Shade City Gym
Date: 18/3/11, 11:36

"See? I told you! I told you! I told you both! I said, 'There's a Gym here', and you said 'No there's not', and there is! Always trust the guy with the modified GPS Pokédex!" Kai went on, when he was interrupted by a flat female voice.
"My GPS feature is a trial version. Please unlock the full game with one thousand six hundred Microsoft Points." Indeed, there was a Pokémon Gym, and our heroes were standing outside it.
"Alright," Summer sighed resignedly, "we get it. There's a Gym."
"And," Ben added, a little more eagerly, "there's a door!"
"No! Really?" exclaimed Kai sarcastically as he opened it.

Inside the Pokémon Gym, it was dark. There wasn't really another word for it, Kai supposed, unless you count unlit, sunless, dingy, murky, dusky, swarthy, sable, ebony... 'I need to get my head out of thesauruses...' Kai told himself, 'Is thesauruses a word?' Probably, he decided. It was funny how many irrelevant things he thought of, although that was probably beside the point too. What was relevant though, is the fact that they were almost at the end of a dangerous, pitch-black corridor with rapidly dimming torches. It reminded him of a computer game he played back at home that said, 'Beware the darkness, it brooks no intrusion. Light is your ally, use it wisely'. He and Summer had put their heads together and figured out the rules of this deadly game: Reach the end of the section of corridor before your torches went out. They reset to full brightness after clearing a section. This would be easy, except for the fact that the corridor was full of traps, so running was almost fatal, but so was taking their time. The strange thing was though, the torches weren't darkening anymore.
"There's the end!" exclaimed Ben, happily pointing at a doorway only feet away, "Do you think the Gym Leader's there?"
"Maybe, but if it's just another corridor, I'm gonna kill someone," replied Kai irritably. Ben began to take a few steps forward. "Stop!" Kai shouted, "Just because our torches have stopped dimming, doesn't mean there's no more traps. The fact they aren't dimming could be part of one." Ben nodded, but staying completely still otherwise. Kai wasn't even sure he was breathing, but then again, he himself forgot to breath in tense situations sometimes.
"Hang on," Summer whispered, "I want to try something."
"Be my guest," smiled Kai. She took a deep breath in.
"Hey!" she shouted into the shadows beyond the doorway, "Checkmate! We win! Come out!"
"Oi, nutter!" Kai (who was a big fan of Worms) murmured to her, "If I knew you were going to shout, I'd have stopped you! You could have triggered something!" The situation was less of a checkmate, but rather a stalemate. The three were just meters away from the end of the corridor, but couldn't move for there may have been traps waiting for them. But Kai was impatient and you can't expect him to stay still for more than twenty seconds at a time.
"That. Is," he muttered, then shouted, "It! I am not waiting around any longer!" He stormed forward, triggering several traps which completely missed him. "I am not waiting to decide if some psycho architect put any more damned traps down!" He was halfway now, triggering every trap as he went, all of which were to fast to hit him. "I came for a battle," he continued loudly as he stomped into the doorway, "and a battle is what I'm going to get!" He turned around. Ben, Summer, Turftle, Zorua and Alpha were all staring at him in awe. Kai looked around. There were holes in the floor, several different kinds of projectiles lodged in the wall, blades in the ceiling... the Gym looked like a war zone. "Ah. More traps then."

"Work! Work!" Ben screamed, hitting the unlit torch against what supposedly was the wall.
"Ben," Summer sighed without even bothering to turn round to face where all the noise was emanating from, "It's not working. Any ideas, Kai?" Kai was further down the room, preoccupied.
"Hey guys! There's some matches back here!"
"Light them!" Ben and Summer cried simultaneously. Kai either couldn't hear or ignored them.
"Ooh, there's a fuse here too." Ben and Summer turned to each other, wide-eyed.
"Don't light them! Don't light them!" A sparkling light appeared, revealing Kai and Alpha. And a lit fuse.
"Look," Kai said calmly, "It's gone all twinkly!" He laughed. "Relax! Look at what it's doing!" He was right. As the sparks travelled across the wire, they spat onto old-fashioned torches, the kind that used fire. More and more light filled the room. Ben was impressed, but Summer was furious.
"Do you have any idea what you could've done just then?!" she shouted, "What if there had been explosives attached to that fuse?"
"There can't have been," Kai explained, "If there had, then this Gym would've blown up and no one would be stupid enough to risk that. Also, we would've died so there would be a fine for murder. On top of that, this whole Gym is a test of logic full of tricks and traps and we need to think about things quickly and thoroughly. This was no different, if you think about it then you've solved the problem of the dark room and can proceed."
"Well done," laughed a new voice, "But there isn't anywhere to proceed to." Kai span around in surprise. At the end of the room, there was a girl, slightly older than him, around thirteen, with very pale skin and dark clothes to match her jet black hair. Kai almost found her attractive. Ben obviously found her attractive, but Summer put her arm out to stop him from taking a step.
"Pay attention to the task in hand," she growled through gritted teeth.
"Who the heck are you?!" Kai demanded.
"I'm Luna," she replied, "And I'm the Gym Leader."

To be continued as soon as possible...

I'd really find reviews helpful, so if you can, please feedback. Anything would be nice.

Pokémon Generations: Quartz and Marble: Chapter 5

Chapter Five: The Shadow Badge

"This is going to be the best panic we've seen all day."

Location: Shade City Pokémon Gym
Date: 18/3/11, 12:47

"Who wants to go first?" Luna asked. Ben, without the slightest hint of beforehand thought (if there was any at all), shot up his hand like a skyrocket. 'Think, Ben,' Kai said to himself, 'You'll be the death of us all.' Nonetheless, Luna accepted.
"Brilliant. This will be easy," she murmured. But Summer was an optimist, and noticed a subtle change in Luna's demeanor. 'But for who?' she thought. Before anyone could consider anything more on the topic, a large screen folded out of the wall. Computerized judges. What was the world coming to?
"No substitution is allowed. Two Pokémon each. Begin," the computer announced in a toneless masculine voice. Kai was getting a little sick of robots.
"You first," smiled Luna sweetly. Ben took his chance while it lasted.
"I'll start off with a new one," he declared, tossing a Poké Ball, "Go on, Mowseling!" Out of the Ball popped a tiny, brown, rodent-like creature.
"Mow mow!" it shrilled. Kai was either intrigued or just plain nosy, but nevertheless wanted to know more about this strange being.
"Pokédex," he commanded, "Initiate bioscan. Oh, but, uh... make it invisible or something."
"Affirmative," replied the slightly-Canadian-American-type type voice, as Kai thought of it, "Initiating IR bioscan. Would you like to register a command for this?"
"Nah, just call it a IR scan," Kai muttered. Summer elbowed him in the arm.
"Shush," she snapped, but the T.O.R.E. continued.
"Number 10, Mowseling, Baby Mouse Pokémon. Mowseling, or Yojausu, is a Normal-type Pokémon native to the Tanoh Region. It evolves into Mowselong at Level 14. It has a diet composed of mainly Oran Berries. When it is born it has very soft teeth, so it will gnaw on hard objects to strengthen them. Since it has no claws, it must use these teeth to defend its territory." Satisfied, Kai looked up to find everyone angrily staring at him.
"Sorry," he mouthed.
"Whenever you're ready," Luna scowled in response, "If that's your choice, Ben, I'll pick something that'll challenge you." she tossed a Ball, yelling, "Mowselong, time to go!" A larger, dark, longer version of the Baby Mouse Pokémon appeared. Kai reached for his encyclopedic device, but Summer grabbed his arm to stop him. He looked at her, however she then flushed a bright red and let go, turning to the battle. 'What was that all about?' he thought. "Go on, Mowselong, use Bind!" Luna ordered. The Pokémon suddenly picked its front legs off of the ground and extended without even moving its hind legs. The rubber rodent wrapped its prevolution tightly, but Ben had a plan.
"Mowseling, Bite!" he commanded, and the tiny creature responded by digging its incisor teeth hard into the body of Mowselong, causing it to cry out and release it. Mowselong shrieked in irritation.
"Ice Fang!" Luna cried out. Mowselong's teeth began to glow a pale blue and it leapt for a terrified Mowseling. As Mowselong bit back, its prevolution experienced a sharp, cold pain racing through its body.
"Should've called it Frostbite," Kai joked, and Summer elbowed him again, but he could see she was giggling under her breath. Ben didn't find it funny.
"Mowseling, Bite Mowselong's nose!" he exclaimed.
"Mowseling and Mowselong have very sensitive noses," said the Pokédex, "Entering the Nether; saving chunks."
"Are you playing Minecraft?" Kai asked.
"...Negative..." the Pokédex replied carefully. Mowselong suddenly shrieked again, but this time piercingly loud. Mowseling was clinging on to its nose with its teeth. Mowselong began to shake its head around, but Mowseling had a strong jaw and clung on for dear life util Mowselong eventually collapsed.
"Mowselong has been defeated," the computer-referee decided, "The score is one-zero to the challenger." Ben punched the air.
"We're doing it, Mowseling!" he cried, "We're winning!"
"Ling ling!" Mowseling squeaked.
"Very well," Luna smiled, "Next you're up against," she tossed a Poké Ball, "Grendog!" A familiar small, black, wolf-like Pokémon appeared.
"Grren!" it barked. Summer shuddered. She hated that Pokémon.
"Grendog, Scratch!" Luna ordered. Grendog extended its claws and leapt at Mowseling.
"Bite!" Ben commanded. The two of them, Scratching and Biting, attacked each other viciously, but ultimately, Grendog, with more energy than its foe, prevailed, knocking Mowseling into the wall. The Baby Mouse didn't move, but just lay on the floor.
"Mowseling has been defeated. The score is one-one," the computer-referee droned. Luna smiled, while Ben wore one of those expressions that said nothing. It didn't need to.
"Turftle!" Ben shouted, tossing the Ball of his most powerful Pokémon. The Grass Turtle appeared.
"Tur turf!" it exclaimed.
"Tackle!" Ben called.
"Scratch!" Luna yelled. Turftle began to run at Grendog, who was also charging, claws extended. Grendog scrathed, but Turftle retracted into his shell and span out of the way and into it.
"Wha...?" Ben was confused, "That's not Tackle."
"Affirmative," the Pokédex replied, "That move is known as Rapid Spin."
"Rapid Spin, huh?" he smiled, impressed. Turftle taught himself Rapid Spin. "Anyway," Ben continued, "Rapid Spin again!" Turftle jumped high into the air in response, slipped into his shell, and began to spin as he came crashing into Grendog.
"Crunch!" Luna commanded, knowing that her team wouldn't last much longer. Grendog bared its fangs and brought them down on Turftle's shell.
"Use Rapid Spin to escape, then Razor Leaf!" Ben cried. Turftle followed his orders with perfect precision. He span and span and forced Grendog off, so he was hurled into the air, and began to use shoot Razor Leaves from this vantage point. Grendog, worn out, collapsed.
"Grendog has been defeated. The challenger is victorious," the judge-computer announced.
"Impressive, Ben," Luna smiled.
"Thank you, Luna," he replied.
"He's such a flirt," Summer sighed to Kai, a little too loudly.
"In that case," Luna snapped, "Why don't you try next?"

The computer recited the battle rules as if they were a verse. "Begin," it finished.
"Go on, Burna!" called Summer, throwing a Ball containing the Gas Flame Pokémon.
"Mowselong!" Luna tossed Mowselong's Poké Ball. The two Pokémon appeared, ready to battle. Burna suddenly caused a flame to explode out of his head, possibly to intimidate Mowselong, Kai wasn't sure. Mowselong simply beared its teeth and the light from the fire shone off them as if they were made of silver. 'Maybe they are,' Kai wondered.
"Crunch!" Luna shouted, "And as hard as you can!" Mowselong screeched as it sprang toward Burna, teeth ready to bite down on Burna like a gullotine.
"Ember!" Summer called to her Pokémon, but Mowselong was far too fast, and she was force to recall the defeated Burna to his Poké Ball.
"The score is one-zero to Luna," the referee said. Summer sighed. Luna had practically let Ben win, but was thrashing her. It wasn't fair! 'Shut up,' she told herself, 'It may not be fair, but whining at it in your head won't make things any better.' "Zorua!" she commanded, "Get in there!" Her partner nodded and with one quick bounce, landed gracefully on the battlefield.
"Zozoru!" Zorua cried out, and began to use Pursuit.
"Dodge and use Bind!" ordered Luna, and Mowselong stretched up to evade the attack, and descending upon its foe as she rushed underneath it. Within seconds, Zorua was trapped, tied up by the Rubber Mouse Pokémon. "Now, Ice Fang!" Mowselong bit into Zorua, causing her to squeal in pain, and so it tossed her unconscious body back to her Trainer.
"The score is two-zero to Luna. Luna is victorious," the computer broadcasted as if it was advertising with a bullhorn.
"That was out of spite!" Kai shouted angrily at Luna, "Give her a rematch!"
"I took the match," Luna smiled. Kai found her calm, know-it-all tone that little bit more annoying, that little bit that crossed the line.
"All right," Kai demanded, "I'll battle you! If I win, you have to give Summer a rematch!" Luna laughed.
"You don't get to be a Gym Leader if you can't take down challengers," she reminded him, "I'll take your little team down!"

The computer yet again sang out the rules. "Begin."
"Mowselong!" Luna threw the Ball on to the field.
"Alpha," Kai nodded to his partner, who jumped in.
"Hahaha!" Mowselong laughed at Alpha, but made a rather unpleasant noise out of it, "I'll defeat you easily!"
"You can try," Alpha replied, "...but you'll never catch me." And with that, he vanished.
"What the-" Luna cried in surprise.
"Tackle!" Kai called. Alpha rammed into Mowselong's side, and just before it hit the wall, Alpha reappeared and Tackled it the other way, causing it to skid across the floor and end up where it started.
"Haha!" Kai grinned happily.
Luna said nothing but "Ice Fang!" Mowselong ran at Alpha and bit at him, but suddenly abruptly noticed that its opponent was nowhere to be seen. Alpha, however was in fact hurrying around the battlefield at an incredible pace, taking care not to stop and let his foe see him. The humans, however, had powerful enough eyes to see a silvery blur around the edges of the room.
"Tackle!" Kai commanded again. The blur almost passed through Mowselong as it hit the wall, unconscious. Kai grinned.
"Mowselong has been defeated. The score is one-zero to the challenger," the computer droned.
"How about that rematch then?" he called to Luna as she returned her Pokémon.
"I'm not finished yet," she snapped back, "Grendog!" The small black wolf reappeared.
"The other half is in the Sharpedo," Kai smiled.
"What?" Luna frowned. But before anyone could react, Alpha had already Tackled Grendog. "Hm. Scratch!"
"Tackle again!" Kai ordered. Alpha vanished again and hit Grendog in the back, who then turned and Scratched, giving Luna her first successful hit.
"Oh, no, you didn't!" Alpha growled.
"Big mistake," Kai muttered, "Shouldn't have done that..."
"Dragon..." Alpha roared, "BRREEEEAAAAATH!" And as he called this, his crystals began to glow, and and enormous blue beam erupted from the gem on his forehead. Grendog flew through the air, tumbling and turning, and eventually hit the ground with a thump. There was silence for a moment, then the computer beeped.
"Grendog has been defeated," it said slowly, "The challenger is victorious." Kai folded his arms.
"I believe you owe me and my friends a few things," he smiled.
"Fine," sighed Luna resignedly, "You and Ben take these," she held out two black, token-like objects, "and I'll give your friend a rematch." Kai noticed something.
"Summer's rematch will have to wait," he said, "until we find Summer." Everyone looked around. Kai was right. Summer was gone.

Please, please, please can someone review this? I need to figure out where I can improve.
