"The new animated series Pokémon Generations revisits each generation of the Pokémon video game series to shed new light on some timeless moments. From the earliest days in the Kanto region to the splendor of the Kalos region, go behind the scenes and witness Pokémon history with new eyes! These bite-sized adventures, about 3 to 5 minutes long, will be released every week through December 23, 2016. "

The series will be 18 episodes long and will start Friday, September 16th.

I'm very excited for this. This is finally something from the anniversary that doesn't feel like it's only about the Gen 1 games and Kanto.

Villains, Legendries and heroes who aren't Ash, oh my!

I for one am GREATLY looking forward to this! :D

I loved Origins, the B2W2 trailer, and really liked the New Mega Evolutions trailer (AKA the ORAS trailer). So I'm in!

At the very least I'll more Villain Team action, including GOOD versions of Aqua & Magma, and Plasma. Looks like some folks will get to come out of the Never Animated Club to boot!

Me too; I hope this adds to Pokemon Origins by THEN Adding the POST-GEN I Generations to it. Ethan, Lucas, and Either Hilbert or Nate, or EVEN Calem, or Brendan

Holy cow! I am so excited for this! Finally an Anime WITHOUT ASH and isn't Gen 1. I love Gen1 but there are 5 other generations that NEED a lot of love. SO yeah, I'm stoked.

Based on the trailer, it's only going to be Red and Pikachu.

Feels weird that they are redoing Red versus blue with the same production team but hey after that fight got shafted I'm up for it.

Looks good but not extremely hyped. 3 to 5 minutes is very short and one of the problems I had with Origins was that it was way too rushed. Although if they're focusing on specific events in the games, maybe it won't be so rushed.

Every generation has a story to tell, but only one generation has a story that sells. ;)

Oh, I'll watch these I suppose. I'm not expecting much, but I didn't expect much from Origins either and was pleasantly surprised.

I'm conflicted about this. Origins is not what I wanted from anything, but there is plenty that does need a proper showing in anime form. Ho-oh on the very poster? Don't you dare toy with me, Ho-oh has been oddly neglected for ages. It being only small few minute things doesn't mean much, though, however, being a fan of the original Clone Wars series, there is a lot of potential. You could almost have a series on Team Plasma alone, they never got a decent showing, and their game incarnation deserves more than that. On the other side, I feel we already got a decent enough story for Galactic AND Flare. Other than to do it closer to the games, I see no reason. Although bonus points if we actually see the Distortion World and Giratina with this version. Finally, more Perfect Zygarde? This, I feel, is something that needs no compounding on, save for whatever it's role in SM is.

I feel that it'll be neat to see, but I'm not too thrilled about it since I feel deviating from the games is necessary, lest we end up being redundant. (or it becomes too lol games) Seeing vindication for everything that's been ignored or done incorrectly will be the best thing this thing can do.

I can't see the trailer. It is showing "This video is not available. Sorry about that"

Is everyone facing this issue? Or has the Pokemon company played favorites again and blocked the video in some regions -_-'

I'm pleasantly surprised with this announcement. It does feel like a cool way to celebrate all of the generations instead of just focus on the first one, even though it seems like Red and Pikachu are going to be the main focus here. It's kind of a shame that they'll just be three to five minute shorts. While a lot of people liked Origins, it felt way too rushed for my tastes and that did weaken my enjoyment out of the special. Although, the fact that they're focused on just the team encounters might help a bit. I'm sure that people will be demanding for Red to be the new lead or something instead. I wouldn't be against a second Pokemon anime series, especially when I'm pretty sure that the franchise makes more than enough money to make two series, but I can see why that hasn't really happened.

The animation does look really nice and I do still love that this celebrates all of the generations. As much as I like the Alola forms and surprisingly enjoy Pokemon Go, I feel like Kanto has gotten way too much attention lately, so something focusing on all of the generations sounds quite appealing. Plus, I get to see N in animated form again and hopefully a more faithful version of Team Plasma to boot, so that's awesome.

It's obvious that they aren't simply adapting the game stories if you actually watch the trailer. Some shorts will be about untold stories, which is hopefully the reason for Red's role in other regions.

Ok, I found another trailer which is working for me.
AZ is there!
Red isn't battling Blue if you look closely. It seems like it is Drake but I'm not sure. Red's Pikachu? what???? Well, how that sudden focus when he didn't use it even once in Origins. Atleast we won't get more of mega zard X after what happened in Kalos.
Zygarde perfect is there so most likely either Red is in Kalos so Anime won't have zygarde in Alola.

Finally got it to work through IGN!
I hope Red will finally speak something this time. Wonder how they are going to cover all 6 generations in 18 episodes. That means 90 minutes max. Just one and half hour special sort of thingy :(

Please, for the love of Mew, don't give Gen I more than its fair share of attention again. Let's showcase the whole franchise equally this time, just as should be done for the 20th anniversary.
