Hmmm, I'd play it. xP
As long as all the Gyms have their original Gyms leaders and all the events (from the S.S. Anne to the Alpha Ruins and the Braille "event" of the three Regis) are still there.

They tried the All-regions idea with Gen II, and while it was interesting, there just wasn't much to do there.

yeah, but back then there was only two regions: kanto and johto; now it would be cool to feature all 5 regions. and by the way, pokémon crystal is one of the best games they made.

It's an interesting idea, but it just probably will never happen.
I agree with you. this idea would be cool for a one final pokémon game, combining all the previous games before, but I hope they never stop making those games, life would just be miserable without pokémon! =D

If it was made, I'd definitely play it. Although it would probably take a long time to play through. And I agree that it would probably be better for a final Pokemon game, so no region that was made later would get left out, because there wouldn't be any that would be made later. If Pokemon ever ends. But if it ever does end, I will personally kill whoever was responsible.

Honestly, I wouldn't like it. Even if GameFreak would fit 5+ regions into a single game, imagine how watered down they'd be or how terrible the level distributions would be? We'd have to say, finish Kanto at around level 25!

HeartGold and SoulSilver had both Kanto and Johto in and even added the Kanto areas that GSC had to leave out. Two regions was nice, but even then, the Kanto side was made too easy due to all of the Gym Leaders having similar levels.

Very unlikely due to space on the cartridge for 5 regions, features, and 649 Pokemon.
that's true, but maybe such an idea is possible for a more advanced console system, not necessarily the nintendo ds.

the way I see it is more like a game where you play with ash and pikachu, you know just like in the anime. there are many ways and scenarios for such a game to succeed. for instance, a player might be obliged to leave his or her pokémon behind when traveling between regions, or various pokémon can be region exclusive according to their generation and so on...

I think it's too much to be honest and I wouldn't personally want to travel through all the regions in one game, as I think it would take the novelty away from it. I like the G/S/C & HG/SS idea though of having two regions to explore. That would be better in my opinion ^^.

Anything is possible, even if it is only possible in the future. I like the idea of a multi-region game

That's if we assume that this will happen in Generation V. If it happens in say, Gen VI there could be anywhere from 750-800 Pokémon, plus their shiny forms and alternate formes - and by then they'll most likely be 3D models instead of sprites (After all, if Gen VI still uses sprites...urgh >>)

IF they do do this one day, I wouldn't mind if they don't introduce any new pokemon (or if they do, just a few)

I agree! there would be a lot of data to handle, but I don't really think that memory is an issue nowadays. besides, it's just a hypothetical question, we don't really need to think about the technical stuff.

I don't like the idea much, to be honest. It's just too much. Besides, you'd either have horrible level distribution, or you'd have to leave Pokemon behind when changing regions for it to work properly. A bad level distribution would take a lot of fun away from the game, because you'd either be extraordinarily underleveled or overleveled. If you had to leave Pokemon behind when changing regions, then, well, it's no different than going out and buying a new game.

While game with all the regions would be interesting, I don't think it'd be much fun. I'd rather just play games with one region consecutively, than play one game with all the regions.
