Pokémon GO Plus delayed to September: No longer set to be released in July

The Pokémon GO Plus, originally announced for a release in late July, will now be released in September 2016.

Is this thing even going to sell? It's super overpriced and with the state that the app is in currently I can't see GO being all that relevant in September. I feel like if they really wanted this to be a success they should have released it at the same time as the app.
 
Hopefully this means there'll be another round of pre-orders, since i was unable to get one the first time around.
