Yes Folks i am talking about the original Pokemon green version! I recently found it unopened in my old nintendo box with my old N64 and my old game boy.. I have been playing it and been writing up an article for bulbapedia... But i would love to talk about this rare gem that has been lost

Japan did have green version.. I don't know why it was never released in America

I've never played those games actually I just played Yellow which is an older game because the only hero was a male

How long is "recently" because there's a page on it already and its revision history goes back to 2005.

I thought that we got Red and Blue version and Japan got Green version

Japan got the original Red and Green versions, then the updated blue. We got a Blue and Red version with which were basically the original red and green with Blue's graphic updates if I recall correctly.

Green was never released because by the time it was released outside of Japan, Blue had already come up and had better graphics, so they marketed the games as Red and Blue

Because Charizard is more awesome than Vensaur?

Yesm that's obviously why Green was replaced by Blue version

Yellow was newer than those two games -_-

there are rumors that the cave where mewtwo is unlike red and blue... was not the same.. there are also rumors you can catch all 150 pokemon (besides the starters in green) and you can buy some items that are only found are pickups in the other games...my Japanese is very basic but i am getting through.. I have just beaten Surge

They have an article on the original Red and Green, and Green version has version exclusives as did Red during their release, so yes its a rumour. The English Red and Blue have the same version exclusives because they were practically the original Red and Green with the updated graphics and Cerulean cave. Japanese Blue version had a completely different list of "unobtainables." I'd say "version exclusives" but they were all catchable in the first two.

As for Cerulean Cave's differences, it's already detailed in this page and had basically been remade into their remakes.

The reason we never got Green version was because by the time we licensed it here in the states "Blue version" was released in japan with improved sound and graphics
so we decided to give the US the most up to date version, and then a new Red version to go with it (as a contrast game like Red and Green)

be sure the japanese red and american Red are two different games

now I like playing Green version because I think the original sprites looked better and Green is my favourite colour :smokin:

Even the prizes in the English Blue version remains the same as Japanese Green. Our Red and Blue is basically Japan's Red and Green except with Blue's dialogue script, its updated graphics and its Cerulean Cave. What we have are the two games with a fusion of Japanese Blue.

We didn't get the "most up to date" game with a "new" Red version. We got the original Red and Green updated with some stuff from Blue, and with it being marketted as Red and Blue version rather than Red and Green. (maybe turtles just appealed more than frogs with flowers on their back)

More accurately, they released two different Blue versions with the original Red and Green's version-exclusives. Everything else essentially came from the single game.
