It has been confirmed that Pokémon HOME will be undergoing maintenance on 2 April 2026 with a planned runtime from 00:00–12:00 UTC. The update to version 4.0.0 will allow users to trade between Pokémon HOME and Pokémon Legends Z-A for the first time.
It is important to keep in mind that Pokémon caught in or transferred to Pokémon Legends Z-A will then be unable to travel to previous mainline titles, such as Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. They will, however, be able to connect to Pokémon Champions after its release.
By completing the Pokédexes of previous mainline titles, Pokémon HOME rewards you with various rare gift Pokémon—Shiny Meloetta for Scarlet & Violet and its DLC, Shiny Keldeo for Sword & Shield and its DLC, and more. Following the new update, we could see this feature continued with a brand-new distribution for completing Pokémon Legends Z-A's and Mega Dimension's Pokédexes. Possible gift Pokémon could include Shiny Eternal Flower Floette, Diancie, Hoopa, Volcanion, Magearna, Zeraora, or the elusive Poké Ball Pattern Vivillon.
New Mega-Evolved Abilities
The mobile version of Pokémon HOME allows users to view the Pokédex entries of every currently-available Mega-Evolved Pokémon. For example, while viewing Venusaur's Pokédex entry, you can tap the arrow on the right to view Mega Venusaur's typing, stats, and ability. Some fans speculate that, following connectivity between HOME and Legends Z-A, Pokédex entries will be published for the 45 new Mega Evolutions introduced in Pokémon Legends Z-A and Mega Dimension, revealing their abilities in the run-up to the launch of Pokémon Champions. Do note, however, that this is purely speculation.
