Ever hear a Pokémon reference where you didn't think you would?

Here's one I experienced a few weeks ago. My dad hired a classmate of his to help paint the house. So anyway, the guy is painting my bedroom door while I'm on the phone to a friend of mine.

Her cat knocked over her drinking glass, so I told her she should get one of those sippy cups that babies have. As an afterthought, I added "And you can paint it blue and call it Wobby!"

Without missing a beat, the guy goes "Wooooooobbuffet!"

Ironically, I nearly fell over.

You guys got anything to share?

Well, the kid now changed his room, now I had to look either at a huge tasmanina devil or the national soccer team, but for almost a year ago, everytime I walked to the bus, I had to look up at the window of some house, because there was a marril plushie sitting there in the windowstill :-)

Yesterday in school, I had a bad doodle of Kirby on my worksheet. The girl sitting next to me looked over at it and said, "Oh, is that Jigglypuff?" I explained to her how it was supposed to be Kirby. XD I mean, it's good to know that there's another person in my school who doesn't shun Pokémon, but I wouldn't be able to discuss AG or anything worth talking about with her.

Yes, at a house by my school, there's Pokémon window-clings on a window. They're all old school ones like Charmander and Psyduck. =D I haven't looked in a while, so I don't know if they're still there or not.

This isn't a specific incident, but every time I see someone in a Pokémon t-shirt (which has become kind of rare nowadays), I always, without fail, wave and say "Pika pika!" enthusiastically to them in my flawless Pikachu voice. It gets me lots of weird looks. XD This one kid in a Squirtle shirt at Tahoe seemed really scared of me over that. Of course, I happened to be in a bathing suit in the snow at the time due to a dare, so I kind of don't blame him. *Is crazy*

Oh, and here's a good one. XP I went to this one lady's house a couple years ago to buy a few of her chickens, and her rooster was named Pikachu! I thought that was hilarious, seeing as I have numerous chickens named after Pokémon.

Off-topic: I love the song Bright Eyes, too, Flare-Espeon. ^_^ Watership Down rocks!

Same are in a house I alway pass with the bus. All old ones too (I believe Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Eevee, but am not 100% sure about the last one) and they've all gone pale as well

And when I was at some shop some half a year ago and some parent with a little kid in a babycarriage were there too and at that babycarriage were some keychains of plushed pokemon I've never see before. They had a caterpie and a Eevee

And Watership down's truely awesome *pets stuffed rabbit named Fiver*

At the movie theater once, my friend and I decided to wear Pokémon tattoos on our face for no apparent reason (we're like that), and the lady behind the snack counter looked at us kind of strangely and went, "You like Pokémon?" We nodded vigorously, and then she exclaimed, "Me too!" and we proceeded to have a rather long and rambling conversation about our favorite Pokémon. We were late for the movie, but it was more than worth it.

Off-topic again (Sorry!): Yeah, two of my friends and I once cosplayed as the three main Watership Down rabbits. I was Hazel, my friend was Fiver, and my other friend was Bigwig. We even wore our costumes to school... ^_^

*Off topic too* lol Just some not totaly random names of my stuffed rabbits: Fiver, Clover, Bigwig (I saw him, bough him almost imeditaly, but he already had his name before I payed him, he's jus so Bigwig (well except he misses the tuft of fur) Hazel, Pipkin

A few weeks ago, me and my brother (Anthony) were watching Inuyasha and it was the first time he had ever seen it. Well, they showed a scene where Sango and Miroku were riding on Kirara's back and this is the (short) conversation (not exact but close enough) me and my brother had:

Anthony: Why are they riding on a Pokemon?
Me: That's not a Pokemon, that's Kirara.
Anthony: It's a bootleg Ninetales.

And later when Kirara turned small again, he said that she looked like an Eevee and I told him that Shippo looks more like an Eevee.

The funniest thing about this is that my brother stopped liking Pokemon five years ago. XD

Semi funny incident...

I was talking to my friend who supposedly hates Pokemon with a passion. We were talking and I said "Oh cool, that cat looks like a Pokemon!" My friend said "Yeah, it looks like an Eevee!" I immediately replied "I thought you hated Pokemon!"

Yeah, not that funny. Whatever. :-p

Hmm... when I was in France, I saw a Pikachu sticker on some random window of what I think was an office building. ^_^ Once, at school, a sign-in notebook had Pokemon stickers all over it. Once, while walking along the beach, I found a Pokemon valentine, that was from a girl to a boy (judging by the names...)... for some reason, I found that funny. Whatever. :P Just the other day, though, I saw a woman driving a car, and there was a Jigglypuff plushie on the dashboard. I thought that was pretty cool. ^_^

The only thing I can think of was this one time I saw some little baby in a carrier. Among the little stuffed toys hanging on the handle was a Charizard pipper-pull.

That's all I can think of...

off-topic:
I didn't know they made a Caterpie plush...

Neither did I until I saw it. It wasn't a Hasbro plush however I think

I remember when on vacation, my familie was on the boat and sitting behind us a german famillie was playing a game with pokemon pictures on it. That was also when I first realized German pokemon names different from the ones I was used to.
And not totaly Pokemon, but Pokemon related, once arived at our vacation islands, I went to buy some boosters at the shop almost everyday, and so did another kid. Well at some time, my parents and I were talking a walk and suddenly that boy and his family past by and imidiatly recognizing me he said hi! And my parents did wonder how I knew him :-D

Back from Fanime in my Pikachu costume, and I got some expected responses to my costume.

While it's entirely normal (and commonplace) for me to be recognized by gobs of people (I got my picture taken at least 100 times and found some fellow Pokémon cosplayers, among other hundreds of Pokémon-related activities), I was recognized by, of all people, 3 J-rock bands at Fanime.

While I was collecting autographs, words, and hugs from the members of the J-rock bands that performed at MusicFest (Camino, Duel Jewel, and BLOOD), all of them not only recognized me, but also were absolutely in love with my costume. #^_^# They were petting my Pika-ears and trying to impersonate Pikachu's voice and they signed all of my autographs as 'Pikachuu' in katakana. I was one happy little electric mouse. I just found it a little on the funny side that J-rockers would not only acknowledge that they knew who I was, but also admit to being fans of Pikachu. It was a joyful occasion.

Today, I had a very unexpected encounter. :P I was shopping for clothes, and walked into the dressing room. There were these two teenage girls there. One of them said, "Let's just take a peak at the jeans..." and then the other said, "Pika pika." :eek: That woke me up. :) Then I saw a family speaking Japanese, and one of the kids was wearing a Pokemon shirt! The odd thing was that the Pichu on the shirt were green and orange. O_o;

Out of the blue, my brother, in the middle of a conversation, started acting out how James came to terms with his sexuality.

It went like this:

(While immitating his girlish tone) Hi, Jessie (no reaction)

Hello, Boss <sproining noise> (look of shock and amazement).

I almost fell off the couch.

A month ago over at the Naval Base my sister went to the hospital to get her drugs. I came with her. At the parking lot I saw a grown man with a Pokemon shirt on. I was like "wtf"

Not reaally seen somewhere, but I was listening to some Abba songs and in two of them I could find some funny Pokemon referance which weren't there ment to be

First Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)
Autumn winds
Blowing outside the window as I look around the room
And it makes me so depressed to see the gloom

Which became
And it makes me so depressed to see the :044:

Then there's Summernight City

Those crazy years, that was the time
Of the flower-power
But underneath we had a fear of flying

Which made me think
We had a :022: flying

*grins*

I cheared a friend of mine up with the lyrics of 'you can do it if you really try)' not that she's into pokemon or so, but it did help her

Remember the Marril I mentioned earlier on? Well in the house next to it, a pokeball has appead in front of the window. Still Pokemon to watch in that area :-)
