Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl now comes on weekday mornings at 7 AM Eastern.

Is D/P all CN is airing now?

Despite them owning the entire series as shown by the recent marathon, it wouldn't surprise me if CN doesn't bother airing any of the older seasons and just focus on the current era. They seem to want to promote the new season with new characters, not the old seasons with old voices and old characters.

I'd be surprised if CN ever had a rerun slot for Seasons 1-9 again at this point.

*long exasperated groan*

They really need to run through Battle Frontier again. I need to record Home is Where the Start is, gosh darn it! '_' Yeah, I have it on the computer, but I will go insane if my video tape collection is incomplete. Just because I'm crazy like that.

I used to care about that. Then my love of Pokemon ended for a bit and I taped over almost every single tape, losing both Pokemon episodes and Beast Wars episodes (totally awesome show). I'm still kicking myself for my stupidity.

One thing I'm wondering is why doesn't CN run Seasons 1-9? I mean, as the marathon shows, there's nothing preventing them from doing so, and I've heard that they don't really care about the whole PUSA/4Kids thing anyway. Older episodes=more views because they haven't been showed in a long time and people want to see them again. The more views they get, the better they do. It's common knowledge.

Just as many viewers in general, if not more, could be more interested in seeing the new episodes than the old episodes- a lot of the viewers are kids, kids naturally desire novel things, they're going to be showing the new stuff to get the most views. I think what's stopping them from showing both the new and old episodes could be new episodes for their other shows, new shows, etc- I wouldn't know, but summer is a big time for that for a channel devoted to cartoons, I would imagine?

Mmm, true, I suppose, but if all they show are newer episodes, people will probably eventually get bored and such and want to see something they haven't seen in a while. While old reruns can be bad for some people, if a viewer doesn't really have the chance to see them, they can be very good. I just think that if they have more diversity in showings (ie. Diamond and Pearl at night, one of the older-older seasons in the morning), maybe they can pull in more viewers.

I think they may want to phase out the old seasons because there are characters in those seasons that aren't on the show anymore. That and they have the old voices...and CN may not want to promote them because people might start ignoring the current season.

KidsWb did the same thing when the Advance seasons started, they starting ONLY airing reruns of AG and phased out the older seasons completely.

CN is just doing the same thing I suppose, it wouldn't surprise me if Battle Frontier is dropped from the lineup once D/P has enough eps dubbed simply because BF has an old group.
