"The Flame Pokemon-athon!"
"The Kangaskhan Kid"
"The Bridge Bike Gang"
"Ditto's Mysterious Mansion"
"Pikachu's Goodbye"
"The Battling Eevee Brothers"
"Wake Up, Snorlax!"
"Showdown in Dark City"
"The March of the Exeggutor Squad"
"The Problem with Paras"
"The Song of Jigglypuff"
"Attack of the Prehistoric Pokemon"
"A Chansey Operation"
"Holy Matrimony!"
"So Near, Yet So Farfetch'd"
"Who Gets to Keep Togepi?"
"Bulbasaur's Mysterious Garden"
"The Case of the K-9 Caper"
"Pokémon Paparazzi"
"The Ultimate Test"
"The Breeding Center Secret"

Its about time this was announced. Your list seems pretty reasonable, so we can assume a third boxset will finish off Kanto entirely.

I'm curious as to if they'll skip over Orange since that series is already on DVD and move on to early Johto which is the only Johto season without proper DVD treatment.

If they do put Johto Journies on boxsets after Kanto, pretty much the entire series will be out on DVD in the U.S. except for Battle Frontier which is coming later this year and of course D/P.

Johto Journeys was out on DVD, but they were only three episodes each...

Johto League Champions also needs a big box set, maybe two volumes.

The only problem is - these things are impossible to find and my parents don't trust online retailers...

That's why I said "proper" DVD treatment, Johto Journies needs a boxset like Kanto, Master Quest, and Pokemon Advanced got.

Well, in my opinion, a "proper" DVD release would have the Japanese track in addition to the dub...

But whatever. I'll be buying this set for comparison reasons and especially for screenshot reasons. I mean, we're in the year 2007 now. There's no reason for any website to be using any screenshot with a Kids' WB! logo (or, better yet, a local Fox or UPN logo) at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.

It's just going to be really weird importing an English pokemon product while I'm in Japan...

This is so cool. I've been waiting for awhile for the next Indigo League set to come out. I honestly wish that they released it earlier but as long as it eventually comes out, I'm happy. Hopefully, if they do finish the Indigo League in the next set, they'll continue on with other older seasons.

I can see them doing an set for the Orange Islands, Johto Journeys, and Johto League Champions. Like XD375 said, they did release both of those Johto seasons on single DVDs, but they're pretty hard to find now. As for the Orange Islands, I know that those were released on three or four single disks, but they did release all of the Advance seaon on single disks before putting them on a two volume box set. I don't see the harm in putting those episodes on a volume set. Anyway, this is another good box set to add on to my wish list.

Oh good, I hope it comes out around that time. That way I can import it for Christmas.

Finally. '_' I know it hasn't really been that long since the first set was released, but it seems to have taken a while.

Hopefully the third set will be out before the last quarter of 2008.

Would this even be possible? With the dub having scenes cut out, the audio wouldn't overlap on the same spots I'd imagine. Maybe it's easier to restore than I'm aware, I don't know how the YGO DVDs handled it to be honest.

Maybe this time the DVD set will actually make it to the stores instead of Viz just saying it's coming and the stores not picking it up because Pokémon isn't popular enough.

And I think Orange Islands needs to be rereleased in one big set, because with more advanced technology, we would have better quality.

And...Beckett Pokémon Collector confirmed that there will be three Kanto sets in back in February. They even had the prototype box art for the three sets...the first was changed and since the trend continues I expect the other two sets to be changed too...although the art from the third set with Team Rocket on the front may be reused on the second set or maybe the third one.

I found it at two Best Buys and a Target. '_'

x.o

I'm 99% sure that these "prototype covers" you are constantly refering to are the covers of the individual discs from the set. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I believe that you're right. I remember that before the first volume came out, the cover for the box set that was on most websites, the one with Ash and Pikachu on it, was really the cover for the first disk in the set. That's why I was surprised to see the cover with the original Kanto group on the cover when I finally got the set last year.

I've seen it everywhere they sell Anime Box Sets...

It'd be nice. While the technology isn't really any more advanced than it was when the DVD's were first released, it would be nice to have copies of Orange Islands episodes that didn't look like third generation VHS tapes.

You mean these?

Because those are from the first set.

Is there any reason why Chronicles has not been released on DVD in the U.S. yet?

I think Viz just forgot that they haven't released them over here. Or assumed they already have.

I've e-mailed both Viz and the Pokemon.com Mailbag about the DVD's, but I haven't received a response from either site. So who knows?
