Pokemon Is Coming Back??!!

That's just what the article suggested. I do think it was always popular- I just wanted everybody on the forum to see that article

My, oh my, how could I, a regular New York Times' web site reader, miss an article like that?

As a side note, some time ago they had an article in their Sunday Magazine that featured Wikipedia, and there was some mention of "five thousand Pokémon articles". And on another unrelated note, there was also an article about Domo-kun (a.k.a. Grues), that mentioned internet culture and deviantART. I was half-expecting them to feature Pokémon next, and then... oo

Edit: "Would-be Pokémon products that ended up on the reject list include diapers and gerbil cages." WTF LOL Oo .

One thing I've noticed since PUSA took the show, coincidence or not, I see alot more advertisement for the toys, cards, and games then I did in the Advanced Years.

It makes me wonder how much of those new Pokemon toys are selling. I don't buy any of them, but I do look at them in the stores and they're ok.

It always bugged me that they don't make the human characters though. Seeing the Pokemon are fine but making 4 inch characters of the humans would sell too I think.

I sure wouldn't mind having an Ash plushie. ;)

You and several others. xD If I could find a decent one, I would too. Heh, I'm still holding out for a good Meowth plushie. *crosses fingers* Ten years and shoddy plushes.

I can actually see kinda where the author's coming from in the article, only when it comes to America at least...I know that Pokemon's considered a dead fad for the most part. It could appear 'coming back' since it's not as mainstream anymore.

Wait...
Was there a 30-second time lapse in 2001 where pokemon disappeared from the face of the earth? OH NOEZ!

But anyway... I love that the title refrences Squirtle and Jigglypuff, but neither of them are in the picture, much less recognizable to anyone who hasn't played the series ever or in a long time. Also, that sign in the picture was a crazy jumble with Pikachu, Charmander, and... PIPLUP? How does Piplup get onto a sign featuring 3 pokemon, the two others being 1st gen, and one not even getting decent exposure in the anime?

Pokemon is back?

Just like Sexy, I never noticed it left and was in need of being brought back.
