This is my new fanfic, titled Journey. It follows the adventures of Kabuki Zarinara, as he travels through the Kanto region. You cannot be mean when posting, as that would really annoy one certain person. So, enjoy. Ooh, and remember, post if you read the fanfic.
Chapter One:
Kabuki Begins His Journey
The sun shone upon the open-roofed Indigo Plateau, as the challenger on the left of the battlefield, named Lance, got his first pokéball ready for the match. This pokémon was Gyarados, and was one of the newest additions to his neatly built team. He hoped that, with this team, he could defeat Champion Hamaki, and move on to be the next Champion. That, after all, was his lifelong dream, and he definitely wasn’t going to give up.
“Next challenger is Lance Drazuki from Blackthorn City. He has so far collected eight Kanto badges, and also defeated the Elite Four just before he came here today to challenge the champion Hamaki to a battle.”
Lance gulped nervously, as he saw his younger sister Clair and his father Drake in the audience. His cape swayed in the wind, as his courage caught back up with him again, “I’M LANCE DRAZUKI, AND I’M GONNA BECOME THE CHAMPION OF THE INDIGO PLATEAU!” He faced Hamaki on the other side of the stadium. “AND YOU’RE NOT GONNA BEAT ME!”
“We’d better start off the battle. You all know the rules- six on six, remember? And only the challenger can withdraw a pokémon if it hasn’t fainted. Begin!” The referee shot his handgun in the air to start the battle.
Hamaki enlarged his pokéball in his hand. “I’ll choose first, as I am the champion.” He threw the same pokéball onto the field, his long brown hair swaying across his large shoulders. A Golem was released from the ball. “Go, Golem!” Golem smacked its rock body with its fists as a sign of strength, and to make the challenger intimidated.
Lance threw his pokéball, also releasing a pokémon onto the field. A Gyarados was released, its shrieks filling the entire stadium. “Gyarados, let’s warm up the audience. They’ll need a thrill before the HUGE thrill of me winning this battle.”
“You think you’re definitely going to win, don’t you? Are you sure you can beat me, Champion Hamaki?” He faced his pregnant wife, who was sitting in the audience. “I’m 28, man. And all my life, I’ve been training to be a great trainer. Now, Golem… USE EARTHQUAKE!” Golem stomped its hard foot onto the ground, creating a huge earthquake.
“Gyarados, get ready! Use Surf, Gyarados!” Gyarados created a huge tidal wave, sending it straight to Hamaki’s Golem. The earthquake made the tidal wave send into three different lakes, all falling down onto Golem. Golem lay helpless on the ground, dazed by the tremendous water.
Hamaki returned Golem back into it’s pokéball, looking at it proudly. “Golem, you didn’t last very long out there, but you did a great job.” Hamaki threw his second pokéball onto the field. “Go, Ditto!” The pink blob slowly moved over to Lance’s Gyarados. “Use Transform, Ditto!” The Ditto automatically transformed into Gyarados.
Lance closed his eyes to think out his strategy. He opened his eyes again, this time sure about what he would do. “Protect!” Gyarados created a force field to protect itself from any attacks.
“Charge up your Hyper Beam, Ditto! Protect will only last for a moment!” A shining ball appeared at Ditto’s mouth, slowly getting bigger and bigger.
“Don’t worry, Gyarados! You’ll be protected for long eno- WHA!?” The force field broke apart, finally wearing out. “Gyarados, use Double Team!” Four different Gyarados appeared on the field.
Ditto’s Hyper Beam was charged to the fullest of its power, “Ditto, Hyper Beam!” Ditto created a gigantic laser from the ball, affecting all the Gyarados by spreading the attack across the field. “That’s enough, Ditto! You’ve done a great job!”
“You’ve done a great… FZZZT… HZZZZT…”
“Aaaw, Mum!” Kabuki said, as he sat on his bed, his mother switching the TV off at the plug. “I was watching one of Dad’s old battles. Now I won’t know if Dad’s Ditto defeated Gyarados or not… Thanks mum!” Kabuki said sarcastically, reaching for the plug to switch the TV on again.
“No, Kabuki. You’ve seen that one video about five thousand times already.” She said, standing in front of the plug so her son couldn’t put the TV back on. “Your father wants you to be a good trainer from tomorrow, but you don’t have to watch one battle over six years to be skilled, do you?” She threw Kabuki’s pyjamas into the bed, implying for him to get ready for bed.
“But Mum… Now I won’t know how to deal with Gyarados in a tight situation.” He said, starting to put his pyjamas. “And I’m 12, Mum. I can do stuff on my own now.”
“Did I say that you couldn’t?” She opened the door again so that she could leave, minding the Persian sitting by her feet. “Oh, I just remembered. Your father said on the phone that he can’t leave from Sinnoh till next week, so you’ll have to go to Viridian and onwards on your own. You’ll have to get your pokémon from Professor Oak. Well, be seeing you!” She slammed the door behind her, letting her son go to bed.
~The Next Day~
Kabuki walked out of his house, immediately getting his map out of his pocket. “Ok, Professor Oak’s lab is that-a-way…” He said, pointing to the left, down the street. “I’d better start walking then, before the Abomasnow comes to bite my head off.
~Six hours later~
“No, you fool! Give me back that pokémon!” Professor Oak said, running after Kabuki. “Give it back!” He grabbed his cell phone from his pocket. “Damn… what’s the number for 911!?”
Kabuki continued down the street. “That was weird. I think it’s time for a… A FLASHBACK!!”
Next Time…
