Sometime, dated back to almost six hundred years ago, an island was wrought from the very ducts of the ocean. No one had known of this island, as it had been too far out at sea for those who believed in the Earth to be flat to venture. Many had heard of this mysterious "ghost island", saying that absolutely no civilization was sustainable on it.

Little did they know, transformation had already begun.

Sitting on a giant fault line, the line was subject to much of the natural disasters that plagued the world. Hurricanes tore through its surface, raining down upon it in copious amounts; Earthquakes ripped and sawed through the jagged landscapes, reshaping it; volcanic eruptions blew steaming magma unto it, causing it's rocky under surface to... expand!

Many, many decades have passed since its discovery.

And the new foundation was a staggering, country-sized landmass.

Many barricades were erected to keep entrance to the new Region-sized island form people until civilization can be established. People uprooted from their homes came to this island seeking safety and shelter. And they were given that and much, much more.

Trees were planted in the natural soil made from the quaking, a forest sprouting itself in a matter of a decade. Soon, many trees were planted; towns were built; and the use of imported Pokemon became a natural process...

Today, you have just received your first Pokemon! Your adventure is about to begin, Trainer!​

Welcome to the Ikiroh Region! Where Trainers may flesh out their own paths!

Now, as for much of the things; such as battles, I believe use of the calc would be okay. It is not an official battle, no. But, more on the details in the battle section!

The Rules!

• No Godmodding/Minimodding. Seriously, nothing can ruin a roleplay worse than Godmodding. Giving your opponent no chance to dodge an attack is not the correct way to do things. And, in example; a Charizard uses Fire Blast on your Leavanny, it's up to the calc. But if I know the calc from battling experience, you will most likely die. Refer to the Battle Section.
  
• No Mary-Sue Characters. Please? I mean, no one wants some Mary Sue running around; being able to beat everything in sight. Don't state that the attack hit. Don't make your character perfect in every way possible.
  
• Swearing at a Moderate. Swearing; I am very lenient with. I tolerate a fair amount of it. Raunchiness is allowed; but only to PG-13.

Battles
Battles will take place using the URPG Calc. These calculations can be acted out by me or anyone willing (and with even an OUNCE of knowledge on how to use the calc).

However; there is a format.

• After each move, you must state what has happened; state what your character says/does, your Pokemon does, or what your counter will be. THIS IS NEEDED!
  
• We shall follow Anime Rules. So, get creative people! Use the terrain, surroundings, and all that jazz! Make sure to always stay within the boundaries; but use combos, feints, distractions, the works! I'll post a guideline on the different things that effect battle after some have signed up!

Name: Vaan

Age: 19

Appearance: Vaan has jet black hair and oceanic blue eyes. He is tall, being around 6'0"; also sporting some muscle. His bangs are somewhat wind swept, alot of them framing his face in wisps. He normally wears collared jackets with t shirts underneath, black cargo pants, with blue and black sneakers. He has a scar across the top of his nose.

History: Vaan was raised inside of the city of Rockveil, where his mother worked as a day care manager; and his father the founder of the Ikiroh Grand Library. He was scarred as a child after battling a wild Scizor; giving him a fear of the Pokemon. He was shunned, many finding the scar to be ugly and disfiguring. Running away into the woods, he cried to himself for hours. However, he found comfort in a Ghastly's attempt to scare him; as it had made both him and the Ghost Pokemon laugh. He soon dedicated himself to training them, as they were one of the only ones who still treated him well. He moved to Luna City, becoming the Gym Leader there.

Appearance: Jamie has short golden wavy hair that is pushed towards the side. His eyes are green with a hint of brown He’s of medium height and built, and has light pale skine

Jamie is often seen wearing blue trousers with a white belt wrapped across his waist. His favorite colour is brown and can be seen wearing brown T-Shirt covered by a thick black zip-up hoodie. Around his neck he wears a crucifix that symbolizes hope. On his feet, Jamie wears white ankle socks and usually wears thin gray cloth shoes.


History: Jamie grew up in large coastal town of Olivine City. His father was a craftsman who created furniture for the town and also fitted his furniture into the ferries that stayed in Olivine. Jamie had no luxuries, since all the money would go to paying the rent and buying food. For his entertainment, Jamie used to walk up to MooMoo Farm and watch the Miltank’s play, sleep and eat. There was nothing in his life that excited him more than watching these Pokemon move. When watching the Miltank's eat, sleep and play, who vowed to himself that he would train with Pokemon and one day become the champion. He packed up his bags and moved to Ikiroh Region.

I'll reserve a spot for now. I don't have a picture of my character but I can describe her fairly well which ought to make up for it.

Another question: Can I pick any unevolved Pokemon as my starter except for legendaries of course or do they have to be one of the three game starters from one of the pre-existing regions?

@gmandiddy: You forgot League in the 'Other' section, but otherwise Accepted. A good ref is what we need.

@Xlugon Pyro: In that order; You may use either or; I just put the picture there for if you don't feel like explaining her appearance. If you can put at least a paragraph (four sentences +), then all is fine with me. The second question: ANY Pokemon at their first stage is allowed. No Legendaries. But any Pokemon whatsoever.

Name: Xoxaa Lizarkia
Age: 16
Picture: N/A
Appearance: A teenager approaching her prime, Xoxaa is quite the looker, but if you'd ask her, she'd describe herself modestly. Her skin is a light peachy color and is well cared for. Her hair is a rich auburn, often put up in two spiky long ponytails in the back with a few strands left out front covering part of her forehead and her ears. The girl's eyes are a vivid green that complements her hair well. She has a well proportioned face, and a youthful one at that, though she has mostly a cute face. Her body has a pretty decent, healthy build. She's a bit of an athlete, with decently sized leg and arm muscles and little body fat, but she's nothing extraordinary.
Despite her more athletic body, she still has plenty of prominent lady-like features, such as her decently sized bust, hips, and rear. They all go together well with her body, giving her an attractive, young look. She's of about average height, being around 5' 6" and is at a healthy weight. Her clothing style is mostly modest until you get below the belt. She usually wears colorful shirts, sometimes thick sweaters in cold weather that completely cover her torso. However she almost exclusively wears mini skirts, even in cold weather. Though she comes prepared with long, thick socks for such conditions. Her socks are shorter in warmer weather, ending below her knees and are often also very colorful, though they tend to be blue most often. She wears stylish but adventure ready white boots so she can tackle any obstacle in the wilderness. She also wears soft black and green trainer gloves that cover her fingers.
History: Xoxaa comes from a long line of dragon-type trainers and breeders that originated from separate family lines from Johto and Unova, but ultimately led to them meeting and settling on Cinnabar Island in Kanto. She grew up with a mother who was once a renowned dragon-type Pokemon trainer but has become a breeder of these Pokemon instead. It is here she learned the basics of Pokemon and became fascinated with the mystical dragon-type.
Xoxaa had a relatively average life, though she had few if any friends and was often harassed by the students at the school she went to. She also had a hard time relating and connecting to Pokemon, often getting hurt in the process. Despite this, she still loved Pokemon and wanted to be a trainer.
A lot changed when she became a teenager and her family moved to Ikiroh. Even though people started to give her lots of positive attention at her new school, she knew they were superficial and were more interested in her assets rather than her personality. Even in her teens, Xoxaa still wasn't too good with Pokemon, and though she was bright, her perfectionist nature still held her back in school. After some time, she managed to finish school and pursue an adventure of training dragon-type Pokemon.
