Legends Z-A Pokemon Legends Z-A General Speculation & Discussion

Honestly, as long as there's a way to make climbing actually faster and not agonizingly slow, then I'm fine with it. Sneasler was simply way too slow that I ended up using Braviary in LA.

Why is that?

Why use a shortcut when you can parkour/climb? That is if they have the climbing mechanic in ZA.

Still isn't impossible for a Legends game to take place in the future. Saying a Legends game can't happen in the future would be like saying Mewtwo, Type: Null, and Silvally aren't legendary Pokemon because they didn't exist in the ancient past.
That goes both ways. A lot of people in here think it's impossible for this game to be set in the near past, due to supposed "tron lines" in the trailer. But I'm willing to accept that as a point in favor of it. On the other hand, "legend has it" is just silly.

Pokemon such as Mewtwo, were "a legend" because of the old logs found in the ruined Pokémon Mansion of Cinnabar Island. Type:Null and Siulvally, were likewise created before the events of SM. There is no legendary pokemon that comes to existence in the middle of gameplay. Instead, the main character first learns of them from myths and rumors, referenced in past events.

It is indeed a huge stretch to think that Japanese-speaking devs would refer to future events using the English phrase "legend has it".

You're definitely zoning in on the worse arguement of the bunch. there's the potential that a Legends game could take place at any point because it'd involve Legendary pokemon, or that there definitely are legends set in the future like ragnarok

Given that PLA was a prequel of Gen 4, the Sinnoh games being specific, it would make little sense having Z-A as a sequel to X/Y, as we talk about legends set in the future and such, like Ragnarok, iirc most of the bunch are doomsday scenarios, and being honest, apocalypse ain't coming to the Pokémon world.

Hisui's setting allowed current Sinnoh to unfold, why can't the redevelopment of Lumiose set the stage for modern Kalos to do the same?

There have been plenty of near-apocalypses though. Fortunately there's always a 10yo around to stop them.

I mean, based on the trailer, it kinda has to be a future setting anyways.

XY Lumiose doesn't have 2 layers
Legends ZA Lumiose does

So in order not to mess up the XY Lumiose, Past isn't even possible.

Same goes for Mega Evolution. It makes no sense if Legends ZA is in the past and any Pokemon in the XY dex gets a Mega in Legends ZA, but don't have them in XY. Its just way easier to eplain them when Legends ZA is in a future setting, since then you can say: Due to Lumiose City redevelopment, adding an extra layer, we (re)discovered Mega Stones for some Pokemon.

Because modern kalos doesnt have wild pokemon walking around lumiose which is litterally the main point of the redevelopment plan in the first place.

Plus the Lumiose City seen in X and Y doesn't look friendly to wild Pokemon either, there are no patches of tall grass, nor any dedicated habitats for wild Pokemon to live in.
