Just as a note, I myself had to ask for permission to post this. If you find anything similar which might be legal, don't hesitate to contact an Anime moderator and we'll see if it can be posted.

Pokémon Live! - Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia

Pokémon Live! was a musical based on the anime, though it is not in the same continuity. It ran in the United States from September 2000 to January 2001. A Portuguese language version played at the Pavilhão Atlântico in Lisbon, Portugal from March 21 to March 27, 2002, and a Dutch version at the Sportpaleis in Antwerp, Belgium on April 6 and 7, 2002. A United Kingdom tour was planned for 2002, but was canceled.

Thankfully for us fans, the Production Stage Manager of the show has uploaded the entire musical on youtube. It doesn't have any closeups, but the quality is decent, the audio is clear and there is no audience noice. You may find the first part here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgvIdkD_jnE and the user has the rest of the parts uploaded. Enjoy and review!

Could you link us to the video?

Edit: Never mind, I found it. Thanks.

Jessie sounds like a psychotic old witch. I love it.

OMG
I remember reading about this long ago and I always thought it'd be nice to watch it, but it seemed impossible to find it in any way... until now! thanks! I'll watch it as soon as possible and reply here again!

I just know this is something I would have been crazy about as a kid, had I actually gone to see it. From what little I've seen of it on YouTube, it seems super cheesy, in a so-bad-it's-good way.

Is this the show where Giovanni is Ash's father and Misty sings about her love for Ash?

I haven't watched it yet but I am prepared to fall out of my seat in laughter and amusement. Thanks for the knowledge that it's uploaded.

What I find most interesting about it is that it uses Shinji Miyazaki's score in some parts. I don't think music rights have ever been a problem for the Pokémon anime's English dub, under 4Kids or The Pokémon Company International.
Anyways, the musical itself is really bad. Whether or not it's "so bad, it's good" or "so bad, it's horrible" is up to personal opinion.

So far in Part 1, I kinda like it. I'm aware that it doesn't take place in any continuity of the Anime at all and treating it as its own entity makes it better. It's cheesy in a good way with great songs too. As a Pokemon fan, I at least find it to be worth watching and it ind a reminds me of how I was a Pokemon fan when I first played Ruby and Sapphire.

BTW, methinks Professor Oak had too much coffee.

Wow. This version of Giovanni actually out-camps this version of James. Look at the musical number they gave him, for pete's sakes.

PS: I love it.

From the first few minutes I've seen of it, this seems cheesy beyond belief.

Which means I'm going to watch it as soon as possible.

"When I say Poké, you say Mon! Poké! Poké! When I say Poké, you say Mon! Poké! Poké!"

Dear god, this Dexter rules.

I hate the fact that Brock's character has huge eyes and Misty has boobs. So unfaithful to the source material.

Just finished watching it... Where do I start? Where do I start? This is one of the first time where I'm kinda speechless. This is one of those things that I told myself that I'd never watch because of how bad it sounds, and it is... bad... in the most hilarious, entertaining and charming way. Definitely in the so bad it's awesome category. James' dance moves, Brock's castrate voice, Oak looking like he's on crystal meth, Jessie channeling one of the Macbeth Witches for her voice, Mecha Mewtwo, Ash moonwalking in his underwear, the trio singing "My Best friends" acting like they're drunk... there is just no part of this that isn't just hilarious. I was about to forget Misty's song and Dexter wanting too Breeeeeeeeeeak freeeeeeee. XD On a more serious note, kudos to whoever played Delia, she wasn't bad and the song "I got a secret" felt like it could belong in a legit musical had it been sung by better vocalists.

I laughed a lot. XD

God it really does remind you of how Pokemon could have gone horribly wrong back in 1999. Thank god we don't have to put up with stuff like this anymore.

It's a confusing experience watching this. I love Pokemon and I can't stand musicals, they were never going to mix. But this is so awful and corny, it's awesome. It's like watching a bad Pokemon fanfic come to life inside Bart Simpson's head.
