Pokémon Masters EX continues extended anniversary celebrations with Bede and Marnie's Pursuits Story Event, plus debut of Marnie's new Alt. Sync Pair

The anniversary celebrations have already been going on for weeks at this point, but Pokémon Masters EX is today squeezing in another new Story Event, Bede and Marnie's Pursuits, together with the first of two Presents ×2 EX Fair Scouts, this featuring the debut of Marnie (Alt.) & Grimmsnarl.

Story Event: Bede and Marnie's Pursuits
Bede and Marnie's Pursuits sees the titular characters taking up their mantles as successors to their respective Galar gyms as part of a tournament arranged by Rose. This event will run through to April 10th, at 10:59pm (PDT).

This event follows the simplified format for Story Events, where players will collect Event Points as they complete battles, earning rewards based on the total amount of event points acquired instead of trading for specific desired rewards. Players will need to collect a total of 10,000 Event Points for this event in order to receive all possible rewards. Featured event rewards include 5★ Scout Tickets, Skill Items, a Field Move Candy Coin, 5★ Power-Ups, and Event Medals. Other rewards able to be obtained include Special Skill Feathers 119 and 120, custom Sync Orbs for Marnie (Alt.) & Grimmsnarl, and Bede (Alt.) & Rapidash, and Lucky Cookies for Marnie (Alt.) & Grimmsnarl, Bede (Alt.) & Rapidash, and Piers & Obstagoon.

As usual for events of this type, players will receive bonus rewards if they take on event battles using teams that feature specific sync pairs. The more of these sync pairs that players place in their lineup, the greater the bonus received. The applicable Sync Pairs and reward rates are as follows:

• Marnie (Alt.) & Grimmsnarl: +60% (×1.6) Bonus Rewards
• Bede (Alt.) & Rapidash: +60% (×1.6) Bonus Rewards (from March 15th, at 11:00pm (PDT))
• Ortega & Dachsbun, Piers & Obstagoon, Leon & Charizard, and Rose & Copperajah: +40% (×1.4) Bonus Rewards
• All other Sync Pairs with the Galar Theme Skill: +20% (×1.2) bonus rewards

These bonuses stack additively, so having a team consisting of Marnie (Alt.) & Grimmsnarl, Piers & Obstagoon, and Leon & Charizard would grant a combined +140% (×2.4) rewards.

Players should also note the following when playing this event:

• The number of plays available for Daily Extreme Battle 1 are reset every day at 11:00pm (PDT).
• To participate, players must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier (Normal) in single-player.
• The sync pairs that appear as opponents in battle have different capabilities than those players can actually obtain.
• All mission completion rewards must be claimed within three days of the mission period ending.
• All Event Points collected during this event will be automatically deleted once the event is over.

Presents ×2 Marnie EX Fair
Marnie debuts her new Sync Pair with Grimmsnarl in this limited-time EX Fair Scout available in-game now, and running through to April 10th, at 10:59pm (PDT).

EX Fair Scouts are the Poké Fair equivalent of EX Master Fair Scouts, with an offering rate of 2% for the featured Sync Pair, 1% for additional featured 5★ Fair-Exclusive Sync Pairs (0.5% each), and 10% for other 5★ Sync Pairs, which may include other Fair-Exclusive Sync Pairs. Like with normal Poké Fair Scouts, EX Fair Scouts require 400 scout points before players are able to get a free selection of any one Sync Pair available in the Scout.

The two Fair-Exclusive Sync Pairs who will join Marnie (Alt.) & Grimmsnarl in this scout are Arven & Mabosstiff, and Akari & Samurott.

The Marnie EX Fair includes a daily discount, where players can perform a single scout for ×100 paid gems. This daily discount can be used 1 time per day during the entire length of the scout. The first twelve times players perform a Sync Pair Scout ×11 for this scout, they will also receive the following bonus presents:

• 1st-4th Scout: Field Move Candy Coin ×2
• 5th Scout: Superawakening Candy ×2
• 6th-9th Scout: Field Move Candy Coin ×4
• 10th Scout: Superawakening Candy ×2
• 11th-12th Scout: Field Move Candy Coin ×4

In addition, players who team up with Marnie (Alt.) & Grimmsnarl in this scout will also receive Support Roll Cake ×8 and 5★ Power-Up ×8 each time they scout the pair, up to 5 times.

Marnie (Alt.) & Grimmsnarl are a 5★ Dark-type Field Role Sync Pair with an unlockable Support EX Role and a Superawakening. Raising them to 6★ EX Status changes their outfit from black and magenta to shades of grey.

Marnie (Alt.) & Grimmsnarl have an interesting combination of skills and moves for spreading both buffs to their team, and debuffs to opponents. Their primary attack, Impish False Surrender, deals heavy damage to all opponents that never misses, and lowers their Defense and Sp. Def by two stat ranks. If Marnie (Alt.) & Grimmsnarl have remaining MP for their Super Effective ↑ move when attacking with this move, it also reduces those MP by one and applies the Supereffective ↑ Next effect to all allied sync pairs, and increases the Physical Moves ↑ Next effect and Special Moves ↑ Next effect of all allied sync pairs by two ranks.

Marnie (Alt.) Gem Emote
A special Gems with Gym Emotes offer is available from the in-game shop alongside the Marnie EX Scout, allowing players to obtain a Marnie (Alt.) Gym Emote as a present. This offer, which comes with 250 paid gems, can be purchased under the With Emotes tab in the Purchase Gems menu of the in-game shop until April 10th, at 10:59pm (PDT).

Gem Specials
In conjunction with the continuing anniversary celebrations, the following four Gem Specials will be available in the purchase gems tab of the in-game shop until April 3rd, at 10:59pm (PDT):

• Post-6.5 gems + spl. present: Gems ×1,000 and Superawakening Candy ×1
• Post-6.5 gem special 1: Gems ×1,400
• Post-6.5 gem special 2: Gems ×4,000
• Post-6.5 super gem special 3: Gems ×16,500

Presents ×2 Bede EX Fair launches this weekend
The second Sync Pair launching as part of this event, Bede (Alt.) & Rapidash, will debut in their own EX Fair on March 15th, at 11:00pm (PDT).

Arc Suit Fairs Return
The following six Arc Suit Sync Pairs, will make their return in individual Arc Suit Fair Scouts over March, each of which will last for only 48 hours.

• Arc Suit Cynthia & Garchomp: March 17th at 11:00pm (PDT) to March 19th at 10:59pm (PDT)
• Arc Suit Lance & Dragonite: March 19th at 11:00pm (PDT) to March 21st at 10:59pm (PDT)
• Arc Suit Steven & Metagross: March 21st at 11:00pm (PDT) to March 23rd at 10:59pm (PDT)
• Arc Suit Leon & Charizard: March 23rd at 11:00pm (PDT) to March 25th at 10:59pm (PDT)
• Arc Suit N & Zoroark: March 25th at 11:00pm (PDT) to March 27th at 10:59pm (PDT)
• Arc Suit Alder & Volcarona: March 27th at 11:00pm (PDT) to March 29th at 10:59pm (PDT)
