New information has has also been released on the game's upcoming six-year anniversary celebrations, including a previews of six new Sync Pairs that will be added to the game over the coming week. These include three sync pairs that players will receive for free simply from a new Story Event, Terastal Festival, and three special EX Master Sync Pairs with the ability to Terastallize their Pokémon.

The next developer letter is slated for late September, and will include information about new Sync Pairs and Events coming in October.

Update Summary
The full changelog from the Version 2.60.0 update can be read here, while the monthly developer letter can be found here. Below, we've summarized the most notable changes with this update which directly impact on the gameplay experience.

New Status Changes: Physical Move Break and Special Move Break
Two new status changes are being added with this new version of the game: Physical Move Break and Special Move Break. These status changes increase the damage taken from physical and special attack moves respectively. Sync Pairs with the ability to apply these status changes will be made available in the future. Though the update does not specify, it seems a reasonable assumption that at least some of the new Sync Pairs being introduced for the six-year anniversary will be able to do so.

New Trainer Gym Season
From August 31st at 11:00pm (PDT), a new season will begin in the Trainer Gym. This season will run through to September 24th, at 10:59pm (PDT). This season does not introduce a new Gym Scout or Gym Scout Tickets.

Carmine arrives at the Trainer Lodge

From August 31st at 11:00pm (PDT), players who have teamed up with Carmine & Sinistcha will be able to invite Carmine to the Trainer Lodge. Carmine & Sinistcha's debut Poké Fair Scout is currently ongoing, and will conclude on September 6th, at 10:59pm (PDT).

BP Item Exchange Sync Pairs

From August 27th, an additional six Sync Pairs, two 5★ and four 4★, will be added to the BP item exchange. No information on the identities of three of these four pairs. While not all of the new pairs have been announced at this time, the preview graphic shows off pairs for Thorton & Regigigas, the Player Character & Buzzwole, and Phoebe & Sableye. It is not clear which, if any, of these three Sync Pairs are 5★.

Alongside these additions and changes, all players will receive a bonus BP Sync Pair Super Voucher, and a bonus BP Sync Pair Voucher, which can be exchanged for one 5★ and one 4★ Sync Pair respectively.

Pokémon Masters Day Overhaul
From September 2025 onward, the monthly Pokémon Masters Day events on the 25th of each month will be receiving an overhaul. Starting from the next Pokémon Masters Day, the usual one-time-only scouts will be updated to include a selection of exclusive sync pairs, while the practice of adding a 6★ EX unlock to existing Sync Pairs that lack it will be discontinued.

EX Master Fair Sync Pairs and Scouts
EX Master Sync Pairs are a new class of Sync Pairs comparable to the existing Master Sync Pairs and Arc Suit Sync Pairs. As of writing, exactly what is different with these pairs, besides that they are exclusive to EX Master Fair Scouts, is not entirely clear. These pairs will receive some form of Master Passive Skill, however this is apparently somehow different to those from Master Fair-Exclusive Sync Pairs released up to this point.

EX Master Fair Scouts will offer the featured EX Master Sync, additional featured 5★ Fair-Exclusive Sync Pairs, and other 5★ Sync Pairs at offering rates of 1%, 2%, and 12% respectively. Players will be able to accumulate up to 400 Scout Points in these Scouts. The first three EX Master Sync Pairs will make their debuts for the six-year anniversary in scouts on the following dates, with the following additional featured 5★ Fair-Exclusive Sync Pairs:
  • Red (Anniversary 2025) & Charizard: August 27th at 11:00pm (PDT)
    • Also features Sygna Suit Leon & Eternatus, and Sygna Suit Brendan & Latios
  • Irida (Anniversary 2025) & Typhlosion: August 29th at 11:00pm (PDT)
    • Also features Atticus & Revavroom, and Sygna Suit Roxie & Roxtricity
  • Gloria (Anniversary 2025) & Cinderace: August 31st at 11:00pm (PDT)
    • Also features Blue (Classic) & Aerodactyl, and Selene (Alt.) & Nihilego
All three of these new EX Master Fair Sync Pairs being introduced for this anniversary celebration will Terastallize when they are sent into battle for the first time, with Red (Anniversary 2025) & Charizard having a Dragon Tera-type, Irida (Anniversary 2025) & Typhlosion a Poison Type-type, and Gloria (Anniversary 2025) & Cinderace a Rock Tera-type. There's nothing however to indicate that being able to Terastallize will be universal for all EX Master Fair-Exclusive Sync Pairs, or if this is simply the case for this particular collection of Sync Pairs.

EX Master Fair Paid-Gem Scout ×25
In addition to the individual EX Master Fair Scouts for these three new Sync Pairs, a special Sync Pair Scout requiring some amount of Paid Gems will also be available, featuring all three of these Sync Pairs. In addition to the whopping ×25 Sync Pairs, this one-time-only scout will also grant players a 5★ Move Candy as a bonus present.

More Master Fair-Exclusive Sync Pairs return in a Paid Tiered Scout
A 5★-Select Master Fair Tiered Scout requiring Paid Gems will begin on August 27th, at 11:00pm (PDT), featuring the following Master Sync Pairs:
  • Sygna Suit Red (Thunderbolt) & Pikachu
  • Silver (Champion) & Tyranitar
  • Sygna Suit Lusamine & Necrozma
  • Marnie (Champion) & Moltres
  • Adaman & Leafeon
  • Geeta & Glimmora
In addition to the Scout itself, each Tier rank will grant players with bonus presents, including a Fair-Guaranteed Scout Ticket, and 5★ Move Candy. At Tier 5, players will be able to select one of these six Sync Pairs to pair up with guaranteed.

Acquire more free Sync Pairs with the Terastal Festival Story Event

The Terastal Festival Story Event will launch on August 27th, at 11:00pm (PDT), and features Lear organizing a festival to promote the recent discovery of Sync Terastallization to the world. Players completing this event with be able to team-up with three exclusive Sync Pairs, Juliana & Sprigatito, Florian & Fuecoco, and Nemona & Quaxly, simply by completing the prologue of this event. These three pairs each join at Level 140, and will grant Event Point bonuses for this Story Event. By progressing through the event, players will be able to acquire upgrade items such as 5★ Custom Power-Ups, 5★ Custom Move Candies, Custom Sync Orbs, and Roll Cakes for each of these three Sync Pairs.

Additionally, players will be able to receive a Master Sync Pair for free simply by playing through the event! Collecting 30,000 Event Points rewards a Master Fair Guaranteed Ticket, that can be used in a Master Fair Guaranteed Ticket Scout featuring the three Anniversary Sync Pairs from the game's 2021 anniversary, namely Lillie (Anniversary 2021) & Lunala, N (Anniversary 2021) & Reshiram, and Steven (Anniversary 2021) & Rayquaza. A Ticket for a Six-Year Anniversary Ticket Scout featuring even more Fair-Exclusive, Seasonal, Costume, and Variety Sync Pairs will also be available.

Other rewards from this Story Event include a photo frame of Charizard Sync Terastallkized into the Dragon-type.

Ten Story Events return for the Anniversary
Starting August 29th, a series of ten Story Events will return to the game at a rate of one event per day. As with other recent batch-returns of Story Events, these can be expected to be a return of just the Story Stages, and will most likely not feature any battle stages, nor any ability to earn event-exclusive rewards that were previously offered in full re-runs.

More Six-Year Anniversary Celebrations
A variety of additional scouts, bonuses, and specials will be running in Pokémon Masters EX in celebration of the game's six-year anniversary.

Co-op Battles against Red, Irida, and Gloria
A new set of Special Co-op Battles featuring the new EX Master Fair-Exclusive Sync Pairs will be running for the Anniversary. These are anticipated to be similar to the battles against Arc Suit Sync Pairs from the five-year anniversary, and should offer substantial first time rewards including Gems, Move Candy Coins, Roll Cake Coins, and 5★-Guaranteed Scout Tickets.

Log-In Bonuses and Gem Bundles
A pair of Log-in Bonuses will be available for the anniversary. While no details have been given on these at this time, last year's Anniversary Log-In bonus granted players 3,000 gems over 3 days.

Special Gem Bundles will also be available from the in-game Shop, though no amounts or prices for these have been announced as of writing.

New High Score Event and Ranked Damage Event
A new High Score Event and a new Ranked Damage Event will be run for the Anniversary celebrations. The types of Pokémon recommended for these events have not been officially revealed, however it seems likely they would be structured to encourage players to use at least one of the new EX Master Fair-Exclusive Sync Pairs.

Sync Pair Updates
While Sync Pairs will no longer be receiving 6★ EX unlock upgrades with the monthly Pokémon Masters Day, a batch of 17 Sync Pairs including 3★ Brock & Onix and 3★ Misty & Starmie will all receive 6★ EX upgrades in one big batch as part of the six-year anniversary celebrations.
