Pokémon Masters EX's 7-Year Anniversary Celebrations begin, with the Marvelous Mega 7 Years Mega Evolution Party event, plus new EX Master Sync Pairs

As announced in the latest trailer, a range of scouts, events and bonuses are launching over the coming days in Pokémon Masters EX to celebrate the game's 7-year anniversary, including the debuts of two new EX Master Sync Pairs, plus the Marvelous Mega 7 Years Mega Evolution Party and Anniversary Tower events. A new version of Pokémon Masters EX, Ver. 2.72.0, has also been released, ahead of an upcoming expansion to the Pasio Towers.

The next producer letter is slated for late September, and will include information about new Sync Pairs and events coming to the game in October.

Version 2.72.0 Update Summary
The full changelog from the Version 2.72.0 update can be read here, while the monthly developer letter can be found here. Below, we've summarized the most notable changes with this update that directly impact the gameplay experience.

Urbain arrives at the Trainer Lodge
From August 31st at 11:00 pm (PDT), players who have teamed up with Urbain & Meganium will be able to invite Urbain to the Trainer Lodge. Players can team up with Urbain in the ongoing Urbain EX Fair Scout.

Trainer Gym Updates
From August 31st at 11:00 pm (PDT), a new season will begin in the Trainer Gym. This season will run through to September 24th, at 10:59pm (PDT).

Expansion of Pasio Towers
From September 6th at 11:00pm (PDT), Pasio Towers will be expanded, with each tower being raised to 40 floors. Floor 31 of each tower will act as a bonus floor, awarding more Gems than usual for completion, while new special rules will be in force from Floor 34 up to create even more challenging battles. New Titles and Lucky Cookie rewards for Pasio Towers will also be available.

Log-In Bonuses, Gifts, and Gem Specials to Celebrate the 7-Year Anniversary
As a special gift, a Marvelous Mega 7 Years Log-In Bonus will be run until September 12th, at 10:59pm (PDT). This Log-In Bonus includes 3 days of gifts, so even if you're a couple of days late starting the event you'll still have plenty of time to receive all of the available gifts.

• Days 1-3: Gems ×1,000

An additional Marvelous Mega 7 Years Ticket Log-In Bonus will be run until September 29th, offering players ten days worth of Tickets for the 7-Year Anniversary Scout (see below).

• Day 1-10: 7-Year Anniv. Scout Ticket ×5

Alongside the update to the Battle Point Item Exchange (see below), all players will also receive the following two items as gifts the first time they log-in until September 29th, at 10:59pm (PDT):

• BP Sync Pair Super Voucher ×1
• BP Sync Pair Voucher ×1

In conjunction with the 7-Year Celebrations, all rewards earned from the Monthly Log-In Bonus will be doubled between August 31st, at 11:00pm (PDT), and September 30th, at 10:59pm (PDT).

The following six Gem Specials will also be available in the purchase gems tab of the in-game shop until September 12th, at 10:59pm (PDT), offering discounted prices on paid gems. Check in game to find the prices for your region.

Marvelous Mega Exchange and EX Exchange
Through the various events and bonuses for the 7-Year Anniversary, Players will be able to collect Marvelous Mega Vouchers and Marvelous Mega EX Vouchers that can be used in the Marvelous Mega 7 Years Exchange and Marvelous Mega 7 Years EX Exchange respectively, where they can be exchanged for Champion Spirit, and Custom ★ Power-Ups, Move Candies, and Roll Cakes for various Mega Evolution sync pairs.

Please note that the amount of Vouchers and EX Vouchers being distributed is not sufficient to obtain every single reward in these exchanges, and Players should only exchange for items they can actually use with Sync Pairs they have partnered with.

Marvelous Mega 7 Years: Mega Evolution Party
This new anniversary event, which runs run through to September 29th, at 10:59pm (PDT), tells the story of Serena and Blue's involvement in a party to celebrate Mega Evolution Pasio.

The event follows the simplified format for Story Events, where players will collect Event Points as they complete battles. Unlike regular Story Events however, Players will need to collect a whopping 30,000 Event Points for this event in order to receive all possible rewards, which include:

• 7-Year Anniv. Scout Tickets, Mega Evolution Gtd. Tickets and (at 30,000 points) a Mega Evolution Select Ticket (see below)
• Special Skill Feather's 137, and 138
• Lucky Cookies for Serena (Anniversary 2026) & Greninja, and Blue (Anniversary 2026) & Dragonite
• Skill Items and an Ever Pin
• Strike, Tech, Support, Sprint, and Field Roll Cake Coins
• A Marvelous Mega EX Voucher
• Champion Spirit

In addition to Event Points, players will also receive Marvelous Mega Vouchers as they complete battles, which can be used in the Marvelous Mega 7 Years Exchange.

As usual for events of this type, players will have an increased chance of receiving bonus rewards if they take on event battles using teams that feature specific sync pairs. The more of these sync pairs that players place in their lineup, the greater the bonus received. The applicable Sync Pairs and reward rates are as follows:

• Every single Sync Pair capable of Mega Evolution: +60% (×1.6) bonus rewards
• All other sync pairs with the Seasonal Outfit Theme Skill: +20% (×1.2) bonus rewards

These bonuses stack additively, so having a team consisting of three Mega Evolution capable Sync Pairs would grant a combined +180% (×2.8) rewards.

Players should also note the following when playing this event:

• The number of plays available for Daily Extreme Battle 1 are reset every day at 11:00pm (PDT).
• To participate, players must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier (Normal) in single-player.
• The sync pairs that appear as opponents in battle have different capabilities than those players can actually obtain.
• All mission completion rewards must be claimed within three days of the mission period ending.
• All Event Points collected during this event will be automatically deleted once the event is over.

Marvelous Mega 7 Years: Pacify Rogue Mega Evolutions
In this new anniversary event, which runs run through to September 29th, at 10:59pm (PDT), players will take on a series of battles against Rogue Mega Evolution Pokémon to earn rewards including Mega Evolution Select Tickets, and Certificates of Excellence. Completing Missions associated with each Phase of the event will also earn players Move Candy Coins, and special Titles.

Battles for this event feature the following three special rules, which make the battle challenging for teams lacking Mega Evolution capable Pokémon:

• Mega Rule: Mitigate
  • Reduces damage by 80% when the opponent is hit by an attack from Sync Pairs that have not Mega Evolved
• Mega Rule: Accelerate
  • Reduces the Sync Move countdown for allied sync pairs by 6 when the battle starts, and when each ally Mega Evolves
• Mega Rule: Inflict
  • When an ally Mega Evolves, the target's Defense and Sp. Def is lowered by 3 stat ranks, the target flinches, and the Physical Move Break and Special Move Break effects are applied to the target

Only Phase 1, Rogue Mega Venusaur, can currently be challenged. Phase 2, Rogue Mega Slowbro, will unlock on September 3rd at 10:59pm (PDT). Phase 3, Rogue Mega Tyranitar, will then open one week later on September 10th, at 10:59pm (PDT).

Marvelous Mega 7 Years: Anniversary Tower
In this new anniversary event, which runs run through to September 29th, at 10:59pm (PDT), players will take on a series of (slowly) increasingly difficult battles, which grant various rewards on completion including Gems, a Mega Evolution Gtd. Ticket, and a Marvelous Mega EX Voucher.

Anniversary Tower Floor 1-7 are available now, with Floors 8-11 opening on August 29th at 10:59pm (PDT), and Floors 12-15 opening on August 31st at 10:59pm (PDT). Floors 1-14 are all at the Super Hard difficulty level, and should pose little trouble for most veteran players, while Floor 15 is at the Ultra Hard difficulty.

Marvelous Mega 7 Years: Training Support Daily Battles
In this new anniversary event, which runs run through to September 29th, at 10:59pm (PDT), players can acquire Marvelous Mega Vouchers, and a large volume of useful items for training Pokémon in a series of 10 battles, including ★ Power-Ups and Champion Spirit on Day 7.

Jump Start Battle 1 is available today, with Battles 2-10 opening up once per day over the next 10 days.

Serena EX Master Fair
Serena debuts her new EX Master Sync Pair with Greninja in this limited-time EX Master Fair Scout available in-game now, and running through to October 6th, at 10:59pm (PDT).

Serena (Anniversary 2026) & Greninja are a Dark-type Strike (Physical) Role Sync Pair. This EX Master Fair-Exclusive Sync Pair make their debut with the ability to be raised to 6★ EX, and the ability to unlock a Field EX Role when raised to 6★ EX. Raising the pair to 6★ EX also unlocks a new design for Serena, swapping out the white, black, and blue in their outfit's palette for black, grey, and red.

EX Master Scouts operate similar to Master Fairs, with an offering rate of 1% for the featured EX Master Sync Pair, 2% for additional featured 5★ Fair-Exclusive Sync Pairs, and 12% for other 5★ Sync Pairs, which may include other Fair-Exclusive Sync Pairs. Like with normal Master Fair Scouts, EX Master Fair Scouts require 400 scout points before players are able to get a free selection of any one Sync Pair available in the Scout. The two Fair-Exclusive Sync Pairs who will join Serena (Anniversary 2026) & Greninja in this scout are Akari & Samurott, and Arven & Mabosstiff.

The Serena EX Master Fair includes a daily discount, where players can perform a single scout for ×100 paid gems. This daily discount can be used 1 time per day during the entire length of the scout. The first twelve times players perform a Sync Pair Scout ×11 for this scout, they will also receive the following bonus presents:

Serena (Anniversary 2026) Gem Emote
A special Gems with Gym Emotes offer is available from the in-game shop alongside the Serena EX Master Scout, allowing players to obtain a Serena (Anniversary 2026) Gym Emote as a present. This offer, which comes with 250 paid gems, can be purchased under the With Emotes tab in the Purchase Gems menu of the in-game shop until October 6th at 10:59pm (PDT).

7 Year Anniversary: Paid-Gem Scout ×25 EX Master Fair
As the name suggests, this one-time only Scout requiring 5,000 Paid Gems will give players a whopping ×25 Scout with the chance of scouting either of the two new EX Master Sync Pairs for this anniversary, Serena (Anniversary 2026) & Greninja, or Blue (Anniversary 2026) & Dragonite, even before the latter's solo debut in their own individual EX Master Fair in two days time. Everyone using this Scout will also receive a gift of a 5★ Move Candy.

As normal for an EX Master Fair, there is a 1% total for the featured EX Master Sync Pairs (0.5% each), and 12% for other 5★ Sync Pairs, which may include other Fair-Exclusive (though not EX Master Fair-Exclusive) Sync Pairs.

Arc Suit Select Tiered Scout
Alongside the launch of the Seven-Year Anniversary celebrations, a special Arc Suit Select Tiered Scout is now available, running through to September 12th, at 10:59pm (PDT).

This Tiered Scout has five tiers, each of which is a Sync Pair Scout ×11, and features the following Arc Suit Sync Pairs:

• Arc Suit Lance & Dragonite
• Arc Suit Steven & Metagross
• Arc Suit Leon & Charizard

7-Year Anniversary Ticket Scout
The 7-Year Anniversary Ticket Scout is now available, running through to October 6th, at 10:59pm (PDT), giving players an opportunity to acquire Sync Pairs from a large pool which includes Fair-Exclusive, Variety, Costume, and Seasonal Sync Pairs in addition to the standard pool.

The 7-Year Anniv. Scout Tickets required for this Scout can be acquired through the Marvelous Mega 7 years Ticket Log-In Bonus, and through gaining Event Points in the Marvelous Mega 7 Years Mega Evolution Party event.

Marvelous Mega 7 Years Mission Bingo
A new Mission Bingo has been added in celebration of the 7-year anniversary. The missions for this Mission Bingo, and their associated rewards, are as follows:

Pokémon 30-Year Celebration
With another month comes another three separate rallies for the Pokémon 30-Year Celebration. These rallies will commence on August 31st at 11:00pm (PDT) / September 1st at 6:00am (UTC).

Receive in-game artwork by viewing a returning Story Event
The Threads of Strength Story Event is returning to the game until December 31st, at 7:59pm (PST). This special run of the event for the 30-Year Celebration includes only the Story, and does not include any battle stages.

Team up with Cynthia (Summer 2025) & Milotic by completing Special Missions
This set of Special Missions will be available until September 30th, at 10:59pm (PDT). Simply logging into the game will award players with Cynthia (Summer 2025) & Milotic. All necessary items to raise them to 6★ EX and unlock their Field EX Role can then be earned by leveling them up and using them in battle over the course of the month.

Receive a Gem Present each month
All players who log into the game before September 30th, at 10:59pm (PDT), will receive a gift of Gems ×1000.

Battle Point Item Exchange Update
A selection of new Sync Pairs have now been added to the Battle Points exchange:

Future Updates
As mentioned in previous updates, Pokémon Masters EX is set to receive major updates in the coming months intended to make the game more accessible for new players, including making it easier for players to team up with new Sync Pairs without using the Scout. In January 2027, a major update will see significant revisions to current game content, as well as the introduction of brand new content intended to make the game easier for newer players. The latest developer letter has now previewed what this update will entail.

New Story Content and rewards
New Story Content will be introduced that is intended to replace the PML Arc as the introductory story for new players. By progressing through this content, players will be able to team up with a total of over 25 existing Sync Pairs from across all regions represented in the game. While intended primarily for new players, existing players too will be able to earn rewards from this content.

New Dex Content
An expanded Dex for Pokémon Trainers will allow players to go back over past stories and content at their leisure. More details on this feature will be released in a future announcement.

Revised and Discontinued Content
Starting in January, Co-op battles will be discontinued entirely. Sync Pairs with Passive Skills related to features of multiplayer battles such as Unity Attacks will be adjusted as a result.

Items for upgrading Sync Pairs will see some degree of consolidation, making the process of upgrading more straightforward. Exact details of which items will be consolidated in this manner will be shared at a later date.

Various UI elements will also be streamlined, to give players easier access to events and training screens.
