Pokémon movie screenwriter Hideki Sonoda (園田英樹) has posted several photographs and entries on his blog regarding his recent research trip together with other staff to Spain. Andalusia, the Alhambra in Granada and the Sagrada Família in Barcelona are some of the places that they have visited. It is not explicitly stated anywhere whether or not the trip is research for the next Pokémon movie or not, but it is a possibility.

The one picture of the pink and blue plates and the other random pictures of the area, homes, and streets are kind of suspicious.

Interesting!

Meep, I'm so embarased though, since I talk about Pokemon screenwriters in my LJ a lot.. all this time I've been referring to Hideki Sonoda as "she"! OOps! Leave it to a scatterbrain like me not to look stuff like that up. -_-;

The pictures look pretty... I hope the locations for movie 10 (if any, and I'm sure there will be!) are modeled after them!

You've gotta strut like you mean it, free your mind!
Come on come on!

That would be awesome if they dance around Barcelona sining like in Cheetah Girl's Two....lol

Besides, though, if you are a tourist in some place drastically different you are bound to take pictures of anything you find interesting.

Though, I don't think it should kick the idea out the door anyware... though it would remind me a bit of movie 3 (and 8...)

Such wonderful atmosphere to be found in Spain. I hope Sonoda is doing 10th movie research! Gorgeous pictures.

Well, there were location scouting features on the 5th and 7th movie DVDs (the dubbed version), and they showed Kunihiko Yuyama in Venice, Italy for Pokemon Heroes and they showed him in Vancouver, Canada for Destiny Deoxys.

So anyway, even though this is a different director, it wouldn't surprise me if that was the location for the 10th movie. ^^

Oye, I'm tired of Europe.

They need to pick somewhere different. American Southwest, ancient Japan, Middle East (sans strife)...

Ooh, the Sagrada Familia. I think it'd be pretty cool if they made a Pokemon movie location based on Gaudi's architecture.

King of the Internet, that comment deserves death, slow and painful death. Misty wins the thread and the giant rocks on the wall rock *pun intended* considering the blue one even looking like Diaruga's diamond on his chest.
