I thought I'd make a club for this since no one else has. This is the place to talk about what Pokemon music you like. It can can be anything that has to do with Pokemon.

Anyway, it doesn't matter whether it's from the games or the Anime. It doesn't matter what region or movie the music is from. It doesn't even matter whether the music is Japanese, English, French, Italian, or whatever.

All I ask is that you respect people's different opinions. It's perfectly fine to like the Dub music better than the original.

Oh man, I love the music from Pokémon. All of it. Well, except a few of the English pieces which were kind of corny... but yeah, I'm in.

You know, I don't usually even bother with clubs, but this is one that you should be counting me in.\; I'm a big fan of the Japanese Pokémon music, but I don't like the English dub ones :/ .

Freakin' count me in, using the name "XD375" of course.

The English music is ok by itself (although it's not nearly as good as the Japanese music IMO). My biggest complaint is the way the music gets placed throughout the dub versions of episodes.

Okay - who's heard the Italian music? I think some of the Italian pieces I've had the fortune of hearing are better than even a number of the Japanese ones.

Also - Takeshi no Paradise and Two Perfect Girls are both made of win.

I've heard the Italian opening themes before. Other than that, I believe they use the same BGM in the show as they do in the American Dub, which would be like like almost every other country Outside Asia. I could be wrong though, since I haven't seen the Italian Dub.

Zarla has the Italian themes posted on her website, the NPLU, along with a lot of other obscure Pokémon music...

(I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post the link though. I've been away from my modship duties for too long. ^^o)

I love Pokemon music. My current favorites are Go Pokemon Go and the DP intro...
Unfortunately, since I just woke up, I cant really write a nice joining speech. But I can join clubs.
Btw, aside from the English and Japanese Pokemon songs, I've also listened to Italian and Korean.

There are some pieces of music that I really like, but aren't on any CDs. And since they aren't from any of the games, I like to make up titles for some of them.

Examples Include:
The Shining Light
I think I've mentioned this one before. It plays when Pikachu defeats Miltank among other scenes.

Incoming Storm
This tune plays when all the Hoppip get swept away by the tornado and during the infamous backwards line by James.

The Cerulean Water flowers

This plays when Misty's sisters first appear and jump off the high-dive.

Also, another tune that I really like is the Anime version of the GS ending theme from the games. It's a beautiful tune that was never used in the Dub and is not on the Genki Ippa CD. It's really a must hear tune.

I love blasting Battle Frontier in my car.

Can I join. Please? I love Pokemon Music soooo much.... especially Japanese. ^^;

Hi everyone!

I'd like to join this club as well! :)

Hehe, you wouldn't believe how many Pokemon songs I have on my MP3 player. XD

I have a ton of Pokemon music on there, including a bunch of English songs (I like almost every English song), some Japanese songs (mostly the opening and ending themes), and A LOT of BGM.

I simply love the BGM in the Pokemon anime, and I cannot get enough of it.

Of course, I think my favorite pieces of BGM are:

- Advance Adventure instrumental (it's a great song! I also like how they've played this song in the dub multiple times and the dubbers either don't care or don't seem to realize that it's the instrumental version of a Japanese theme - that's awesome!! XD)

- Elite Four R/S/E theme (anime version) I love this song. It's so dramatic!! ^_^

And like mogoldmember, many of my favorite songs aren't on CD:

- The Shining Light (I'm a huge fan of that song as well - I want an MP3 of it!!)

- The OK instrumental (the one which was played in the dub many times throughout the Johto Journeys and Johto League Champions seasons - I'd also like an MP3 of this song)

- the two songs from the dub version, that are "sort of" included in Pokemon Puzzle League (the PPL versions, however, don't sound exactly like they do in the anime)

- I love all of the Johto BGM that played during seasons 3, 4, and 5 of the dub

- Lance's battle theme from G/S/C (anime version). It's a shame that they never put it on CD. I love this song!! This is definitely one of my favorite BGMs.

Well, I has always wanted to make a thread about this, but since there's now a club for it, I think I will use it to piggyback my own thread...

Who do you think would be singing the song for the 10th movie, "Dialga VS Palkia VS Darkrai"?

From analysis of the past theme songs' singers, it seems like that they have been using better-known singers to do the movie theme songs recently:

• Asuka Hayashi (singer of the 6th movie theme, « Chiisaki Mono ») had a strong following in Japan, as well as Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China
• Tommy February6 (singer of the 7th movie theme, « L-O-V-E-L-Y ~Yume Miru LOVELY BOY~ »), had a cult-following in the U.S. from what I heard
• PUFFY (a.k.a. PuffyAmiYumi) (singer of the 8th movie theme, « Hajimari no Uta ») is well known in both Japan and the U.S., as well as some other parts of the world, mostly thanks to "their" cartoon series, "Hi Hi PuffyAmiYumi"
• Sowelu (singer of the 9th movie theme, « Mamoru Beki Mono ») is quite well known for her Full Metal Alchemist theme songs; from what I know, she also performed theme songs to some Japanese dramas

Before them, probably the only other better known theme song singer is Amuro Namie (for the 2nd movie); she was once known as the "Queen of J-pop" before Hamasaki Ayumi took over (from what I read on Wikipedia); otherwise, most of the singers are probably unheard-of or little-heard singers outside Japan. Sachiko Kobayashi is probably one exception, but she's probably more familiar among the crowd of baby-boomers, being someone who came out as early as 1964, when she was just 10 years old (ironically, while I believe she's the oldest Pokémon movie theme song singer, this makes her share one thing in common with the youngest Pokémon theme song singer, Asuka Hayashi - starting out from a young age).

Also, only two Pokémon movie theme songs were sung by male singers - « Ashita Tenki ni Shite Okure » (by Fumiya Fuji) and « Hitoribochi Ja Nai » (by Kazefumi Miyazawa - coba only did the music, I believe). The rest were all females; likewise, only one band ever did a Pokémon movie theme song - PUFFY, made up of Ami Onuki and Yumi Yoshimura; however, both Kazefumi Miyazawa and Tommy February6 were members of bands (THE BOOM and the brilliant green, respectively).

The genres of movie theme songs are also quite varied, ranging from Kumiko Mori's opera style, to Amuro Namie's J-Pop style, to Sowelu's urban contemporary style, and so on. Movies featuring the hidden legendaries (Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, and Manaphy) also seem to have songs of slower tempo

One interesting correlation I noticed between the movies and the theme songs: it seems like the number of Pokémon that are mentioned in the movie's original Japanese title seems to affect the number of musicians doing the theme song - both the 5th and 8th movie had two Pokémon's names in their titles, and both had two musicians doing the theme song (the latter as part of one band).

Based on this analysis, I'm inclined to believe the next theme song's singer(s) will likely be a band of three, or a threesome of unrelated musicians brought together especially for this.

Can I create a Last.fm Group for this club, so we can like totally share what we are listening. =p
