Hello! this is my rewrite of an old fanfic i tried to do (And didnt go so well) Titled: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Shadow of Zoroark (PMDSOZ For short)
Anyways its my tribute to the wonderful PMD games that have been one of my favorite spin-offs since i first got explorers of darkness. ive put lots of time and planning on how to redo this and i came up with a plan:
Make it Episodic (Writing it all on one document was memory and time consuming)
Put alot more effort into every aspect (The original started badly and only picked up steam much later)
Rethink the characters (Origanals were bland)
And thats it.
Note: im really sorry about the huge delay between episode 1 and 2, ive been having some school problems and i havnt had much time to work on it, but episode 3 should be out around the end of may (Maybe later because im getting a new game on the 15th and im most likley to play it non-stop) so i appologize
Prologe: Just to set up for Episode 1 and a bit of the stuff later.
Episode 1: (3 Paragraphs) In this Part, Riolu meets a Tepig named Red and realizes he has amneisa.
Note: Most episodes will be 6-10 Paragraphs long, the first 4 or so will be short because so much is happening at the start and each episode is designed to focus on one or two things at once, sorry if you finding the first parts short.
Episode 2: This episode has our duo walking around town on the day of the summer festival, Red tells Lucas about explorers and sayd he is making a team of his own, to which Lucas responds he would like to join. before heading to the sign up tent in the middle of the plaza, they meet the famous leader of team triad, Garret, the three head to the tent and Lucas and Red create "Team Storm"
Episode 3: Shadows: This episode is short because it is only to set up forshadowing, but i dont want to spoil much so just read.
Thats it so far. tell me what you think, give feedback and suggestions (Suggestions are for later when i start asking for your opinions)
Quick question: Do you think that i should continue nameing other characters or keep the species name for the other characters. tell me in the comments.
(Character Bios, Location bios, Polls and Questions of the week and future plans will be implamented once Episode 2 or 3 will be released.)

Prologue: Ambush
The forest was quiet, a gentle breeze was blowing through the dense trees, leaves and bushes slowly rustled, when a majestic blue light billowed from a clearing in the woods, there was a cyan, blue portal floating in the middle of the forest clearing, silently humming with energy. Almost out of nowhere, a Riolu burst forth from the vortex. “Woohoo!” His enthusiastic shout broke the silence of the night. “Heh, well, that was quite a ride.” He said, catching his breath as the portal dematerialized. “Ok, let’s see here…” He said as he dug around in the satchel he brought through the portal with him. After a moment, he put his head up from the bag with an anguished expression “Oh crud, where’s the map, don’t tell me I…” He started. “Lost it.” He said as he covered his face with his right hand in angst. “Oh great, now I have to find my way out of this place and find town myself…” He sighed in defeat.
He started down the dark forest path, whistling and carelessly twirling the dagger he had brought along with him. He walked for hours upon hours through the winding dirt road cut through the woods, until he finally saw the morning light shine into the forest, illuminating the path just enough for him to glimpse the exit. “Good lord, finally.” He exclaimed in triumph while he slipped the dagger back into the sheath tied to his right leg. “Huh, I thought I would be stuck here forever!” He proclaimed as he paced quickly to the exit, but before he could reach the end, a tall black shadow raced through the trees to the left of him. “What the?” He asked himself. “Who’s there? Show yourself, buddy!” He challenged the shadow whilst unsheathing his dagger and holding it in a defensive position. The shadow then raced across to his right from the trees. “You want to fight huh? Well bring it o-“ His sentence was interrupted by a sharp pain in his back and a breath as hot as hellfire blowing onto his neck. Before he could turn his head, he felt cold steel being dragged out his back while he fell to the ground and blacked out. “I’ve been waiting for you, Lucas.” Was the last thing he heard along with a shrieking THOWMP…

Episode 1: Amnesia
“How is he Doc?” A voice said in an unnerving tone. “I don’t know, he looks pretty bad, we almost lost him a few times now…” Another, sterner voice said faintly. “Ugh, times almost up, if he doesn’t recover soon…” The voice couldn’t muster the rest of his sentence. “Wait! I think he’s waking up!” The first voice exclaimed. The Riolu slowly but surely opened his eyes. The first thing he saw was a Tepig staring back at him with a relieved expression. “Oh thank goodness you’re alright!” He said releivingly. “Where the heck am I? And who are you?” He groggily asked. “I’ll explain everything in a minute, just don’t move.” The Tepig ordered.
Tepig left the room along with the doctor seconds later. Riolu looked around the area; it was a plain doctor’s room with a single bed and some medical equipment. He took a quick gaze at himself to find, blood soaked bandages wrapped around his chest and back. Then Tepig and the Doctor-A Golduck- Walked back into the room, with Tepig carrying a tray with bread and water over to him. “Uhh, thanks.” Riolu said, hearing his stomach growl intensely. “Sorry for the wait, I’m Tepig, but everyone calls me Red.” Red said as he toasted one of the bread pieces with fire from his snout. “Why’s that?” Riolu asked whilst eating some bread. “Because-“ Almost instantaneously, the end of Red’s tail burst into crimson flames. “Of THAT.” Red explained while swatting the flames away with his hands. “Oh, ok.” Riolu said confusingly. “So, anyway, what happened with all these bandages?” Riolu asked strait away. “Don’t you remember?” Red responded with another question. “… No, I don’t to be frank.” Riolu answered in a depressed tone. “That’s strange, you must’ve been out for quite a while before I found you.” Red said, half to himself and half to Riolu. “Wait, what?” He asked dumbfoundingly.
“Yea, I was taking a stroll in the morning when I saw you, lying face down in the middle of the path with a big wound in your back, I rushed you to the clinic and an hour later you woke up.” Red hastily explained. Riolu briefly reflected on his story. “No, I still can’t figure anything out.” He responded. “Well, can you at least remember your name?” Red questioned a second time. Just then, Riolu remembered a chilling sentence: “I’ve been waiting for you Lucas…” The voice echoed eerily in his head. “It was… Lucas.” He said, shivering oddly. “Lucas huh? That’s not a name I hear a lot, plus we don’t see Riolu’s around here often too…” Red trailed off in wonder. “Well, no matter, you should be fully healed by now, let’s get out of here and check into the inn right next to the clinic.” Red said. Lucas quickly sprang up from the bed and walked outside with Red.
It was nighttime already and they dashed over to the inn in a matter of seconds. When they walked in the doors they were greeted by a Prinplup behind the counter. “Hello Prin.” Red greeted him back. “Yes, hello Red, let me guess, one two bed room?” Prin said. While they were chatting, a colorful painting beside the door caught Lucas’s eye. As he walked over to it, he saw it was a richly colored picture of a Ninetales on top of a mountain, with a blazing red stone next to it. Although it was a painting he had never seen before, something in him told him told him it was familiar. “Hey, you ok?” Red said from behind him. Lucas instantly jolted in surprise. “Yea… sorry.” He responded. “Ok, I got us a room so we should go in and rest a bit.” Red said as he walked toward the door and unlocked it. Lucas took one last glance at the picture and headed inside without a word…

Episode 2: Team Storm. From the thin silk curtains of the inn room, light flittered in from the outside, it wasn’t too bright, but it was enough to coax Lucas into waking up. He yawned loudly and got up from the wooden bed. Much to his surprise, Red was already up as well.
“Let me guess, not much sleep huh?” Red commented on his loud awakening.
“Whatever.” Lucas rolled his eyes and sighed.
“Well, I guess it’s about time I showed you around town then.” Red gestured toward the exit to the inn. Once they got outside it was a huge crowd, people were packing the streets and merchants had tents set up with all kinds of goods on display.
“Forgot to mention, it’s the summer festival today. The place is going to be crowded.” Red explained as he went up to one of the vendors to buy two loafs of bread.
“Well, it sure is lively.” Lucas said, eyeing the various things the vendors had to sell.
“Yep, I’ve lived here for, I’d say 14 years, and this event is always the busiest time of the year.” Red said. “Not just merchants coming here either, a lot of farmers and explorers come to sell their goods too.” Red carried on.
“Explorers?” Lucas asked while finishing the bread.
“Never heard of em? There teams of Pokémon that go around looking for ruins and treasure. I was thinking of signing up today as a matter of fact.” Red said, gesturing toward the middle of the town square where a huge crowd was assembling in front of a group of powerful looking Pokémon.
“Wow, sounds like a good living huh?” Lucas asked astounded at the massive size of the crowd.
“Oh yea, I hear some of the best live in mansions outside of town, I’ve heard their like, loaded with riches and girls.” Red responded with a wide eyed look.
“Well, if you want a second member, count me in!” Lucas said without second thought.
“Really!?” Red exclaimed in disbelief. All of a sudden, Red’s tail caught alight for a second time.
“Sorry, it does that when I get excited.” Tepig said, waving his tail franticly.
The two were about to head for the explorer sign-up tent when a Merchant- a Sandslash- gestured for them to come over to him. The two thought nothing and followed.
“Say, you’re looking festive today, especially with that fire going on there.”
Tepig looked back at his tail, which was, again, on fire. “Ugh, not again.”
The Sandslash looked confused for a moment but turned his head back to Lucas “Anyways, I called you over here for this.” He rummaged inside his tent and turned came out holding a cool-blue pendant.
“It’s a good luck pendant, made from gold and a shard of a water stone.” Sandslash explained while Lucas took a look at it.
It was a nicely polished gold making up the neck strap and an unimaginably shiny azure stone carefully placed upon the gold holder.
“Hmm. looks interesting, how much?” Lucas asked, still inspecting the ornate gold placed carefully on the necklace.
Sandslash set the pendant down on the pillow beside him “Well, glad you asked, let’s say, 150 dollars.”
Lucas was digging into his bag for money when a Charmeleon appeared in front of the Sandslash with a face blazing with rage. He pulled out a shattered gold ring with a cracked fire stone still attached to the top of one of the broken chunks.
“You call THIS piece of crap jewelry!?” He asked, absolutely infuriated. Sandslash almost immediately broke out sweat like a summer rainstorm.
The Charmeleon grabbed Sandslash just under the neck and hoisted the terrified merchant up right up to his face, his nostrils expelling red hot embers into Sandslash’s face, further adding to Sandslash’s terror and perspiration. Sandslash was absolutely speechless out of fear, his only action was to take the broken ring and exchange it for a couple hundred dollars. Upon seeing the money, Charmeleon grabbed the cash and abruptly dropped Sandslash, whose quills stuck in the ground, preventing him from getting up.
Red, who had finally snuffed out the fire engulfing his tail, looked over at Charmeleon and in an instant his jaw dropped.
“Wait! A-aren’t you t-the...” He stuttered uncontrollably.
Charmeleon turned around, only now noticing Lucas and Red’s presence behind him. “Aww heck, didn’t see you two there.” He said with embarrassingly, His voice was quite heavy with western accent, but it also had a slight hint of American, the latter was a bit dry in tone.
‘Wow, he changes mood quickly.’ Lucas thought, astonished at the fact that he went from that pissed off to absolutely calm almost instantly.
Red’s abrupt stuttering broke his train of thought “Y-you’re t-the one f-from Team T-Triad... r- right?” He could barely make out a word let alone a sentence.
Charmeleon broke out a smirk “You betcha! The name’s Garret!”
“Wait, who’s Team Triad?” Lucas asked, confused.
“Who is Team Triad!? Have you been living under a rock!?” Red sounded genuinely surprised. “They’re the greatest, most popular exploration teams EVER!” He ranted on “They’ve traveled the world so many times searching for treasure it’s almost unbelievable!”
Garret interrupted Red’s erratic speech “Well, aren’t you a fan?” He said, half humbled and half astounded by Red’s mass idolizing of him. He then turned to Lucas right after. “Let me guess, first time being around these parts, huh?” He asked.
Before Lucas could answer, Garret continued on “Yea, I could tell by your nervousness, and that you were almost suckered into buying one of those counterfeit charms.” He explained.
Garret then glanced back at the merchant, still struggling to get his quills out of the soft dirt laid in between the plaza’s cobblestone “Here I buy one of those fire stone rings, and it damn breaks 5 minutes later.” Garret muttered, just loud enough for the two to hear him.
He pulled out an ornate gold necklace from his leather handbag. “Want to see a real water stone charm?” He asked, handing it to Lucas.
Lucas examined it. The gold making up the necklace was engraved with mysterious runes and glyphs, like those found in pyramids, at the bottom of the necklace was a blue crystal, crafted to look like three icy glaciers side-by-side. The crystal reflected the light from the sun, giving the crystal a divine sparkle. It was truly a one-of-a-kind piece, even so, it also looked quite familiar to Lucas as well, a same quality that he felt when staring at the painting in the inn, it was a feeling that made him think he was missing something, something important.
Lucas was about to give the charm back to Garret, when he shook his head “No, keep it. A gift, from me.” He insisted.
“Really?” Lucas was quite astounded at his humble statement.
“Yep. Some young lady gave to me a while back, I forget who she was, but she insisted I take it. It never looked good on me though, I like more fiery things, but I should look nice on you.” Garret explained.
While Lucas put the necklace on, Red approached Garret with a question “So, where are the other two?”
Garret immediately answered “Oh? You mean Warturtle and Ivysaur. They went off to the kingdom to the east for a while, they told me to stay and relax, I am their leader after all.” He explained.
“Well, that’s a little unfortunate...” Red sounded disappointed. Suddenly the two heard a commotion over near the sign up tent.
Garret looked over towards the explorer sign up tent “Boy, it excites me to think so many young people are signing up to be explorers...” He commented on the long line leading up to the tent entrance. Red immediately responded “Ya think? Cause we were going over there ourselves!”
Garret grinned widely “That’s excellent! Nice to see you two joining the ranks!” Garret then started to walk over to the tan tent “C’mon, what are you waiting for?” Lucas and Red shrugged and quickly followed.
The line was abysmally huge, stretching for 25 or so feet from the entrance of the tent. “There is no way we’re getting in there TODAY.” Red sighed sarcastically.
Upon hearing this Garret said nothing and walked right up to the person at the front of the tent, without a word Garret flashed a ticket of sorts at him as Lucas and Red looked on, confused.
After a second, the person in front of the tent looked sternly at the two gestured for them to come inside. Lucas and Red followed quickly inside. “Huh, never thought we would actually get in here…” Red Thought aloud.
Inside was still as tan as outside, but more of a darkish-tan, in the middle was Garret, laying out some papers on the desk beside him. Before they could ask what he was doing, he said “Oh, I’m just setting up these papers here, you two need to fill em out, seems as if the lady who does it is out for the minute, so they asked me to do it. Here have a sit right there” He pointed to the wooden chairs in front of them. ‘Wow, he sure knows what people are about to say…’ Lucas thought at the back of his mind, somewhat rudely.
Garret sat on the chair to the opposite and of the desk “You just hafta fill out your names, age, sex and what your team name is going to be.” He explained. “And no sex jokes.” He turned stern almost immediately. “Aww shoot, how did he know?” Red whispered humorously, causing Lucas to crack an amused smirk.
They quickly filled out the form, until they came to the last part: Team Name. “Heck, I didn’t think about this one…” Red sounded quite annoyed.
Both of them thought hard for a few minutes, but to no avail.
All of a sudden, out of the silence, Garret blurted out “You know, you guys kinda remind me of my brother, th’ name was... Clyde I think, always the cool one he was, he’d meet someone and within the day become best friends. Me and my buds used to describe him as “A Glacier of cool.” Or “The western storm.” Heh, those were the days. Back then, I was just a Charmander.” Garret chuckled, recollecting his childhood.
“That’s it! How about: Team Storm!” Red exclaimed.
“Well, I think that’s an excellent name if I do say so myself, fits both your personalities well.” Garret responded. “Just don’t forget to pay me royalties once you start gettin’ famous.” He chuckled.
Lucas seemed lost in thought however, silently staring off until Red noticed him. “Hey! Lucas, you ok?” He tapped him on the shoulder. Lucas instantly snapped out and turned his head over to Red. “Yea, I’m fine, that name just reminded me of something. It’s a good name I suppose, so go ahead.” He responded, still drifting off into an empty stare, before shaking his head and snapping himself out of it.
Just then the receptionist came back into the tent, pushing the impatient crowd back from the entrance. “Thanks Garret, sorry I took so long, you can go now.” She thanked him, to which Garret nodded in acknowledgement. She then noticed Red and Lucas seated in front of her. “Well, who do we have here, two new explorers?” She asked. “You betcha! From the looks of em, they look like they’ll be experts in no time too.” Garret responded, glancing over to see Lucas and Red’s humbled expressions. “Well then, I wish you two luck.” She bowed at the two. Garret then got up and walked over to the exit. “Well then guys, we should go and let someone else in.” He said. Red and Lucas got up and followed him outside.
They spent the rest of the day walking around buying various goods and chatting. Until it was just at the brink of sundown when they had started to walk over to the inn. Garret was telling the two about his adventures “... So I was exploring that volcano I was talkin’ bout earlier, and a huge Salamence came up behind me.” He said. “Really, I was occupied with the tablet of runes I found next to one of the lava flows, so I couldn't hear the big lizard comin’, the thing roared so loud I swear the ground was splitting apart under me. So I turn around, and the thing slashes at me with its front claws, they just grazed me on the cheek.” He showed Red and Lucas his scar, a faint, but still deep, three claw gash on his left cheek, below his left eye as well. “Wow, looks like that hurt...” Red thought aloud “Oh yea, it hurt like a bitch. But anyways, so I jumped back in pain after his sharp claws hit me, and unsheathed my dagger. Heh let me tell ya, tryin’ to stab a big friggin’ dragon while it’s breathin’ fire and slashin’ at ya while you’re tryin’ to stop the gash on your face from bleedin’ is as hard as swimmin’ ‘cross a river without gettin’ wet!” He continued, while Lucas and Red listed quietly; quite immersed in his story.
“So, as I expected, the thing took a huge swing at me, I saw it comin’ and I ducked, but my dagger, my gold dagger with a ruby forged blade, went flyin’ right out of my own two hands, into the lava behind me. I got so angry I just WHAM! Right in the suckers face!” He punched the air in front of him hard, to show the two what he had did. “I punch the thing so hard, he actually started CRYIN’! Can you believe that, I punched a dragon 5 times my size in the face and it CRIED! Even I thought I was dreamin’ when that happened. But anyways, the thing just ran and, I got what I was lookin’ for.” Garret pulled out a small gold sceptre with a flame shaped ruby on the top from his bag. “Yep, no idea what is was, but ever since I heard legends of it, I knew it was my territory.” He explained as he put it back. “After that adventure, I became famous everywhere, and me, Ivy and Jet banded together and made team triad. Anyways, I guess the moral is, don’t piss me off.” His joke caused a stream of laughter from all three of them until they finally arrived at the inn.
Well, nice meeting you Garret, but we gotta bed down for awhile until tomorrow, then well head out for someplace to explore in the morning.” Lucas said.
“Ok then, I’ll be stayin’ at my buddies house just in town, hows about we meet up in the plaza next morning?” Garret asked.
“Sounds good!” Red responded.
“Ok then, see ya tomorrow.” Garret said running off into the purple dusk.
The two waved goodbye and headed into the inn through its mahogany doors...
“Let me guess, not much sleep huh?” Red commented on his loud awakening.
“Whatever.” Lucas rolled his eyes and sighed.

Episode 3: Shadows: This episode is short because it is only to set up forshadowing, but i dont want to spoil much so just read.
Thunder crashed and rain fell in an endless torrent over a dark wasteland, a storm had brewed not long ago and it has reached its worst over this graveyard of the damned. In the middle of this charred, destroyed wasteland, atop a perilous mountain, stood a sinister castle, surrounded by a massive wall hugging the edge of the steep cliff and sporting 5 massive towers that stood over the rustic, dilapidated main building. It was an imposing sight to behold as it lumbered over the dark land, its sinister shadow hanged over the destroyed ruins of towns nearby. The central tower, the tallest of them all, stood straight in the middle of the castle. As Lightning fell violently from the steel shaded clouds that hovered just above the central tower’s peak, the castle became illuminated during each flash, and shaked at each roar of thunder.
The inside was just as dark and bleak and the outside. Not a single warm flame was to be found; only old, used torches and candles lay on the cold stone floor. Windows were all but useless; as the sun never shone and the moon was always covered in heavy storm clouds, allowing no light to enter, save for the brief flashes of lightning that illuminated the castle for a split second. The stained glass windows in the main building were dull and lifeless, the once colourful reds and blues that made the halls shine with hopeful light, had turned to greys and whites, showing no signs of hope anymore.
Even though the castle seemed abandoned and lifeless, something was stirring in the darkness...
In the back of the castle, there was a long, hall like room that hung over the cliff edge, at the bottom of which was hot lava. It was supported by only 2 diagonal columns built into the mountain face. The hall was dark, just like the rest of the castle, but a large stained glass window, which showed a large mountain with a black cloud spreading from it, looked out into the volcanic wasteland below lit up the room slightly, but not enough to see very much. In front of the stained glass window was a throne made of blackened gold, cast in the image of a demon, it gave the impression that the castle was built for a shady purpose. On the walls of the hall were various paintings, most of them depicted famous explorers of the past, and in between, were sinister artifacts: Swords, daggers, black prayer beads, and horns and bones from various Pokémon. And finally, the entrance, two huge red doors, made of some kind of rare wood, the border carved with depictions of 8 different Pokémon: Ninetails, Milotic, Shaymin, Breviary, Rhyperior, Luxray, Gardevoir and finely, a Zoroark, each one accompanied by a crystal of some sort.
Suddenly, the doors opened, and a shadowy figure walked in. He was about 4’03” and carried a long sword in a black leather sheath on his left hip, suggesting he was right handed. Even through the darkness one could make out some of his features. He looked like a mongoose and a cat put together, he had two big, black claws on his paws and he had what one could only be described as two huge scars zig zagging across his face and stomach. He walked nonchalantly down the hall until he reached the small set of stairs just at the base of the throne, and stopped. Sitting in a throne, was another figure, except this one was purposely cloaked in darkness, taking great care to not reveal himself to even the tiniest sliver of light that came through the stained window behind him.
The first figure began kneeling in front of the throne.
“M’Lord, you called?” the figure said, still kneeling.
Immediately two blazing red eyes appeared on the figures face, it was the only thing visible on his shadow-veiled body, they squinted slightly before he said “Yes, commander, you may rise.” His voice was as dark as the room itself; it sounded cunning, yet imposing too.
The first figure stopped and rose up from his kneel, as the second one had ordered.
“Why is it that you have called upon me M’Lord?” He posed a second question.
“As I’m sure I have previously informed you, the mission to exterminate our pest was a rather disappointing failure...” The second one began, talking in a complex manner. The first one nodded slowly “Yes, I remember, your wrath almost brought this very castle down M’Lord, but, may I ask, what is my role here?”
“Your role here commander, is to send a spy to investigate him, collect all the info you can in the next week and report back.” The second one responded.
“Already done sir, the moment I heard the news about his survival I dispatched two of my best men.” The first one started kneeling once more.
The second one gave a evil smile and said “Good job commander, you never cease to please me, I’m starting to agree with your recommendations.”
“Why, thank you M’Lord, but your compliments are wasted on one such as me.” The first one said, sounding very surprised.
“If you must, but enough talk, what information have you gathered?” The second one asked.
The first one rose and began “Well, as you wish M’Lord. We have pinpointed his location; he is in town right now. Apparently after the attack he was found by the rancher’s son, and brought him to the hospital, he fully healed, but it seems that he has lost his memory, th-“ He was interrupted when the second one parked his head up in shock. “Wait, the little rat has forgotten everything!?” He asked. The first one nodded slowly “Yes M’Lord, it seems we have an excellent opportunity to try our hand again.”
“Hmm, yes, you’re right, quick commander, while he is still under the effects, kill him.” The second one ordered. “But M’Lord! I-“ The first one started but was interrupted again by the second “You dare question me, commander!?” He grew enraged, his eyes started glowing crimson red in anger, his pupils blazed with a hateful fire.
“Eep! I-I’m sorry M’Lord, I didn’t mean to question you, it’s just, it seems our pest has made acquaintances with HIM.” The first one apologized profusely. The second one’s eyes dulled down and he slumped back into his throne. “Hmm, this could be a problem, fine, stalk the three and when the time is right, get rid of them.” He commanded.
The first one bowed and without a word walked out, two armour-clad guards closed the doors behind him.
After the footsteps outside the door faded, the second one stood up from his throne in the now empty and silent room, at the same time an exceptionally large flash of lightning roared from the clouds, unlike the other flashes of lightning that only slightly lit up the room, this one completely illuminated the hallway, showing the second ones face for only a moment. He walked over to a glass case to the left of his throne, he, now clutching an ornate dagger, covered in fresh blood, staining the silver blade in a velvet red sheen. He opened the case, slipped the dagger into its sheath and placed it carefully on the raised holder inside the case and chuckled lightly .
“Yes, another addition to my collection, however, it will not be complete, without the soul...” he said, closing the case slowly, and then he glanced over to a blank white painting over to the right of where his recent visitor had been standing “
“Hmm, I still have one blank canvas left, what good timing.” He muttered to himself. Another large strike of lightning struck near the castle, the light coming through the stained glass drawing his attention.
He walked over to the window and pulled a hidden switch, turning the stained glass into normal glass, if is by magic. He looked out, observing the storm raging outside, and smiled.
“Ah, what a lovely storm, soon its wrath will no longer just be confined to this wasteland. Yes, I look forward to the day the entire earth is covered by the same darkness as this.” He thought aloud. Suddenly, the doors opened with a loud creek, and two guards came in abruptly.
“My liege, we found an intruder, at the foot of mountain! We are advising you to come investigate!” one of them stated in a commanding voice. The black figure turned away from the window. “Well, this is a strange turn of events, take the intruder here immediately!” He commanded.
Both guards stood straight, saluted and said “Yes M’Lord, he is on the way now!” they both turned 180 degrees sharply and left the room.
The shadowy figure then flicked the switch again, turning the glass back into its original state, and sat down on his throne. “Well then, let’s just see who this intruder is…”
